  1. I'm just curious - I'm 36 (yikes) so believe me I spent my time on the 2600 and moved up to the 800 where I also spent many an hour during the 80's but I almost think I'm more interested in it now than I was back then. Perhaps I'm just trying to "recapture" my youth or just plain enjoy the recollecting of things that where sold in various garage sales for mere dollars but I really feel it's of more interest to me now than it was back then. I loved Atari back in the day, but it tended to be something you did when you couldn’t go outside and ride BMX or play Nerf football... Is it just me or do others share this feeling?? Also, why does everything I buy for my vintage systems smell like it's been sitting next to a chain smoker for 20+ years??
  2. Thanks for the helpful replies...I'm going to go ahead and pick one up.
  3. Can I use a "custom" 5 pin DIN conector to go from my Atari 800 to the video/audio inputs of my TV (you know - 5 pin DIN to RCA)?? And if so, how much will the picture improve?
  4. Hey, mimo - too bad on the Atari stuff being tossed...I know what it’s like to replace "preexisting" items. On a serious note though - good news for baby Austin!! That's what's most important and not to mention a potential future Atari fan!!
  5. Ok, I'm curious - with the last two post... I'm wanting to use the Y adapter on a colecovision (to enable me to use a CX40 and the necessary keypad) but if the 9 pin adapter will fit a 2600 wouldn't it fit a 7800? I must be missing something because they look the same to me??
  6. Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. I've already placed the order...
  7. Does anyone know where I can find a 9 pin "Y" adapter (so I can use my 2600 wico joystick on my colecovision...)??
  8. No kidding...nobody out there has any info on these?? Any information would be great!!
  9. I'm trying to find these games, does anyone out there own them and are they interested in selling??
  10. I've only owned (and still proudly own) an 800 - so I really don't know what's to gain by owning an 800xl? Any advantages?
  11. Does the 800xl have the same joystick ports as the strait up 800?
  12. Hey all, I'm trying to find two Datasoft games - Canyon Climber and Pooyan for the Atari 800...I had them both on disk about 100 years ago (or so it would seem) and would love to own them again on either disk or cartridge. Anybody have any ideas?
  13. Thanks...Gury, I downloaded the atrutil file and it loaded correctly but unless I'm missing something I can't find an option for opening a .BAS file? Tell me what I'm missing...Thanks again...
  14. Ok, I'm trying to find any application that will allow me to view .BAS code...I found some great sites that have various programs you can download (.BAS files) but have thus far been unable to view the code - what gives?
  15. I had the Lode Runner cart and it will not work on the Atari 800...interesting though if the disk version would...
