  1. I see I never posted about the resolution. As Mr. Jentzsch said, phrases like "(insert_cool_thing) for Atari" are acceptable, and appear to be eBay policy as well. While I think it is a bit of a stretch of the English language, it is a trivial fix and doesn't hurt me. Besides, Atari might have saved me from attention of a more difficult company. Instead, I get to treat the whole thing as a bit of a joke. The item was down for a couple of weeks, then reinstated after they reviewed the changes. I did have to contact them with the request for review. As a side note, I'm glad I decided that putting logos on the stands was just too much work. *That* is a big deal.
  2. Good idea! You should start another thread with before, during, and after pictures of your test. That is good info for all of us.
  3. If you do put your gear in something basically air tight like a plastic bin, put some silica gel bags inside as well. Otherwise any moisture that gets in will stay in. The gel packs can be dried out in an oven, so you can use whatever packs you find.
  4. Yep. Hobby work from during the lockdowns. They really are over-priced for what they are, but shipping is $12-14 and eBay and credit card fees scale off of total sale including shipping. In person, I could sell them more more like $10.
  5. Thank you for asking that. You forced me to re-think a (un)smart-ass comment that I had added.
  6. Since an admin asked for a screenshot here it is (after I fixed the title as requested). I don't feel like I should advertise here, so feel free to remove the image if you like. BTW, the info in the letter may help other sellers avoid the same bother.
  7. Or rather, from the AI software company Redpoints that they must have contracted for enforcement rights. Fix: change Colecovision/Atari2600 4-cartridge display stand - Print to Order to 4-cartridge display stand for Colecovision/Atari2600 - Print to Order Easy enough to fix, (I already have), but that doesn't mean I'm not going to give them crap for it.
  8. I sat down yesterday to ask if the seller of a Super A’can devkit on eBay had documented more about the system than what was in the listing (it is now well out of my budget). Then I found that the seller had also mentioned selling it on AtariAge. Then I follow the link in their profile and find that they own the rights to one of the games that turned up on the Super A’can, implying that they either wrote the game, or know the people that did. I wonder if they documented any of that? Answer: yes. https://www.diskman.com/presents/supersango/ Good work sir, and thank you. If you have heard any other info on what the game industry in Taiwan was like, or would like to share any of your own work experience as a developer, I am sure there are some of us that would love to hear about it.
  9. I just finished spending the last three weeks of my time going through this thread beginning to end. While I started hoping to find an answer to a question, I need to say two things first. 1. This is an amazing lesson on doing primary research. I have watched the knowledge base of this system grow drastically, but due to almost ten years of people's effort. I will have to remember the techniques everyone has used here. 2. That RCA Adventure Game digitized at the Hagley? I want to play that game. Not the game the team envisioned, THAT game. Page turner: "There's something wrong. There are extra pages" Director: "Keep going" ...(later)... Narrator: "Can we start over?" Director: "No" Ok, with that out of the way, I have the same question as mikepell two years ago. There are significantly more Studio II's out there than there are switchboxes to run them. From pange 9 of the service manual, I can figure out everything except 'T1' in the circuit diagram. The bottom half of the circuit are noise reduction circuits and C1 is a high-pas filter. But, what is T1? The only info I have to work with are some (excellent) photos on Wikipedia and the very first post on this thread. "This technique is widely used in old RCA products, like mast amplifiers, etc." -fauxscot Because mast amplifiers are another name for antenna amplifiers, I have tried asking a few HAM radio operators about the circuit. Most of them conclude that it must be an isolation transformer, but the diagram looks more like an autotransformer. Does anyone here have any contacts that might be able to identify it or guess at the coil values? It's either that, or I am designing a circuit myself, and I have next to zero experience with very high frequency circuit design. Heck, I don't even know if the S2 I have works.
  10. I have to say, I am impressed you have digital video working at all. Having personally built a 24-bit color VGA interface using a soldering iron and resistors, it really wasn't bad. Having read the DisplayPort and HDMI specs, HOLY !@#! MAN! It's a data stream. Why did they make it so complicated?!? From a making money perspective, it might not hurt to talk to someone like Lady Ada about the project. I highly doubt they would try to beat you to the punch, and might have good insight into the marketability. I know Adafruit has in-house production capabilities and they are, of course, a distributor.
  11. Be nice guys. I have a very different reason to post. I am very sorry this is proving to be a very time consuming project because I am very interested in one of the possibilities you mentioned after completing it. The f18 is a cool tech demo, showing that an updated TI could have kept up with game machines that came out years later. However, I would prefer not to cut up historical objects as such. However: I have been looking for several years for a video solution for Arduino type projects. I can get an arduino with something like 300 TIMES the performance of an NES, but I can't touch it's video interface. Raw video at 320x240 24-bit 60fps is already over 100mbit. The SPI bus simply isn't going to support more. Buy a sprite engine? The TMS9918 (and it's Japanese derivatives) is recorded as the only commercially available sprite engine in history. You may be sitting on the second. That, I am very interested in.
