This only happens when you don't have enough experience with the machine. It is an art to get discs to come out without buffing marks but it is possible. You should see some of my resurfaced ps1 games, they are literally flawless under the closest inspection. The sandpaper can be dangerous if you run it too long, don't clean it between uses or use it whilst disc plate is already heated up, again down to experience.
