Hi all,
I've got a 2600 PAL Light Sixer that seems totally dead.
When I bought it a couple of years ago, it did work but the RF signal was terrible even on an old CRT, so I fitted a composite mod from TFW8b: https://www.thefuturewas8bit.com/shop/atari/deluxe-atari-composite-video-mod.html
This is where it gets hazy, I can't remember if it ever worked with the composite mod, and I've since moved house and lost the RF parts I removed.
I've triple checked my connections and looked for any solder shorts, it all looks fine.
I get no output at all, audio or video. None of my TVs detect any signal.
So far I've tried:
replaced the voltage regulator (old one was showing 5v output anyway)
replaced the usual capacitors recommended here https://atariage.com/forums/topic/262206-cap-and-vr-kit-specifications-replacement-locations-for-the-2600-variants/
replaced the RIOT chip
reseated all the ICs
cleaned the cartridge connectors
Am I at the point where I need to get this onto an oscilloscope?
Cheers!
