Thanks for the info on the chips. Unicorn seems like a good place to find all of them. Only issue is the $30 min order. These chips come to about $5.

Here is a silver/grey version I printed using Hatchbox PLA silver filament. The front is some black spray paint (I didn't have any silver paint). Again this is @jedimatt42's design, I just added the TI logo to the file and printed it. This was printed at .2 layer height so it is a little rough if you zoom in, but looks better in person. Unfortunately my 32k card now appears to be toasted. A couple of the connector pins rolled while connecting it to the console. I fixed the pins but it fails memory testing now. I wonder if I fried a chip that I can replace?

Looking to get a beige TI-99/4a. I was looking at this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Texas-Instruments-TI-99-4A-Computer-Working-with-cables/303749528684 What can anyone tell me by looking at it? From the expansion port silver "fingers" I would think this is a QI module, but the screen seems to show 1981 so maybe not. What about that keyboard? I know there are tons of FAQs on the QI's, but I thought I would ask the experts on this one. Thanks. Edit, looks like I put this in the wrong forum. Maybe someone can move it to the right section? I have some greyish/silver filament I thought about trying on this. Would have to add the black highlights with paint.

In case anyone who doesn't know 3d printing reads this thread, and to clear up my comments, these are awesome designs by weird_w. My pictures above were two I made with my printer on lower resolution to save time ('cause I'm impatient). To do these right you need 2-3 DAYS with detailed reolution. I printed them in 6-9 HOURS (for the top portions). I will probably try the more detailed print of the TIPI version eventually. I did go a little crazy and add vents and logos as part of the experiment. Those are just me trying weird settings to see how they looked. FYI the door works! Which is pretty cool.

A little science experiment using weird_w's files from earlier in this thread and a few small mods. Don't laugh. Still some clean up to do. The top is modified using a mesh modifier (looks like vents) and a TI "coin" added. Thanks weird_w!

Another one of those guys who had a Ti-99/4A in the 80s that felt nostalgic and bought one recently to relive old times. I probably spent too much, but I got a working system with a 32K expansion and FinalGrom off of Ebay recently. Also found another console at a garage sale that works. So now I have two (both in silver/black). Last time I had a TI-99/4A was in 1985. Bought it on clearance (Sears I think). Had a lot of fun back in the day with a few cartridges, cassette recorder, and lot of typing in of Basic Programs. The Navy, lots of moving around, and newer computers made me eventually stop using the 99 and it unfortunately vanished in one of my moves. I probably don't have much to contribute to the community, but I did make a small remix of the JediMatt42 case for the 32k/Tipi sidecar.
