What Killed Sega Saturn & Dreamcast?
courtesi replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have to admit.... I'm sorry When the PSX was out I seen battle arena toshinden and my jaw hit the floor. Yeah.. its a crap game... we make mistakes... but god those graphics looked awesome for its time... -
although the penalty looks high - it looks like a slap on the wrist compared to how much they got away with.

I'm really hoping that Elder Scrolls: Obliviion gets ported. Thats the only game I need, really.

The frustration I personally have over the game industry is not delivering what people want. I'll give an example: Why would it be so difficult for Sega to release a new Panzar Dragoon Saga game? And also, if you win, it will unlock the original game? This would be an EASY sell. I just don't understand. I for one have already turned my nose up at the 1 in 10 joysticks game compilations. The emulations for the most part are horrid and terrible. After 2 attempts I will NOT be back for more. Back in '96 when emulation was still a fetus, even emulation back then was far higher quality than today. Oh well.. I'm just a cranky old man. What do I know.

Another easy way to beef up difficulty... It has been sometime since I have played this game so please correct me if I am wrong... Later in the game you are given a choice - I don't know if it is an NPC or a Boss - but you are given the choice to receive the Ultima spell OR Ultima as a Sword. If you receive it as a sword AFAIK you will not be able to obtain Ultima any other way. And I'm not entirely sure if the sword will do 9,999hp dmg. In any case if I am correct, just play the game as usual but acquire Ultima into a Sword and that should also bring on the hurt.

Somewhere on the Internet there is a patch to the FF3 US(6 JPN) ROM that limits magic to only 3 characters. That will beef up the difficulty for you...

What I understand is, the NTSC and UK Jaguars each have a different BIOS and Sensible Soccer reads this to determine which system it's running on and thus locks the extra features. Everyone I've seen who have done a review on Sensi Soccer on the NTSC machine have complained about slowdown on 2 player games - yet nobody with PAL machines seem to have this issue.

Looking for hints on really good Apple games that either are A) Unique or B) Are oddly better versions even compared to Amiga/Atari St computers

May I suggest that whatever game it may be that it is completely random and possibly open ended? If I could suggest a title to port it would be Elite. For being random and open it would be perfect. A more aggressive port would be Frontier: Elite 2.

So far I've got: Kaboom! Super Breakout Video Olympics Warlords Any others?

I've heard that these exist but I'm not sure if they were a limited edition item or not. Primarily want one for the T2K. PS: I've given up on BS - please don't bring it up. Thanks.

Maybe it's just me - but I think I'd rather own the physical cart than a rom.

It seems like that when you read through the reviews for some of the 7800 titles there are some that seem like they could be patched. Anyone thought about it? Karateka seems ok except the control. This could probably be fixed. Mission Impossible - well - can it be undone to make it possible?

I don't have a 2600 now but I would like to buy one. Hopefully to skip a step would any of you know of an online store that has the S-Video already installed and ready to go?
