Are label copyright variations relevant?
The Night Phantom replied to MegaManFan's topic in Atari 2600
Oh. Well, then no. Weirdo. Actually, you’re not the first to post about them. So, take courage. Or curse yourself, if uniqueness was your dream. -
Are label copyright variations relevant?
The Night Phantom replied to MegaManFan's topic in Atari 2600
They are if you think so. It’s your hobby, after all! -
I like Agent X’s list: ...except that I’ve never cared for Crystal Castles. Kickman was one of my faves back in the day. Also, for Pac-variety’s sake, I’d drop the maddeningly difficult Jr. Pac-Man in favor of the off-beat Pac & Pal: [*]Millipede [*]Kickman [*]Super Pac-Man [*]Pac & Pal Oh, yeah.

Scariest (home console) video games of all time?
The Night Phantom replied to Scot from S.C.'s topic in Atari 2600
Note: we had a good discussion on scary 2600 games about a year ago. My pick is Halloween. The atmosphere is appropriate, and sometimes Michael Myers’ sudden appearance can startle the @#$% out of me. -
Just plugged in the 7800 for the first time!
The Night Phantom replied to Atari2600Lives's topic in Atari 2600
Apparently the gamepads were packed in with the 7800 in Europe. Both they and the Proline joysticks that came with North American 7800s can be used with 2600 joystick-compatible games, whether on a 7800 or an actual 2600 or compatible system. Welcome to the 7800...truly a “best of both worlds” console! -
B&C ComputerVisions offers ’em at $14.95 apiece. I like ’em.

Oh, yeah, oil and water.

Small criticism: I noticed your internationalized order form requires “State/Province/Region”, but such is not part of mailing addresses in many countries. Overall, good job! And good luck!

WARNING: Raiders of the Lost Ark puzzle spoiler While standing on the Black Sheik’s flute icon, drop the Chai (one of the treasures from the temple); this will take you to the Black Market instantly.

ATARI 2600 games : Who owns the copyrights ??
The Night Phantom replied to Lord-Chaos's topic in Atari 2600
I think you’re misreading Lord-Chaos’ post: Infogrames (that’s the correct spelling, by the way) is the company that bought the Atari Corp. assets (from Hasbro). -
How do you keep track of what carts you have?
The Night Phantom replied to General Atarian's topic in Atari 2600
Generally I’m not interested in minutiae like label variations; so, I’m able to use a fairly simple organization scheme for my game list. I make it in HTML, in a table format. Along the vertical axis I list game titles alphabetically, and along the horizontal axis I list systems. Marks in the table indicate what system or systems I own a particular game title for. I can view the table in a Web browser; when it’s updated, I print it out from my browser and place it in a binder for myself and my guests to peruse. -
ATARI 2600 games : Who owns the copyrights ??
The Night Phantom replied to Lord-Chaos's topic in Atari 2600
Sometimes licensing issues get in the way. Atari’s licenses for such properties as the Pac-Man games, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Snoopy and the Red Baron (to cite a few examples) have probably expired. -
True, but I seem to recall occasionally needing to use one right after the other. In a tough spot I wouldn’t want to have to make a “quick change” between controller ports while waiting for the snakes or the thief to come get me.

GAH you made me look at the screen shots for the clouds, and now im going to play the game because of it, i forgot how much fun i used to have playing that game Rescue rocks!!

Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel’s Castle, once you leave the forest.

Welcome, 5th Ghost! Are we relatives? I noticed that switch’s position also, but for some games it doesn’t affect color. Still, it’s more relevant than that hideous lamp-thing; so, maybe it’s better that you pointed it out.

Yay for us! Thrice the fun!! (3×0=0 )
-
The power switch is in the off position.

What about the ROM? Wasn't she going to release it to the public? My memory of this is a bit hazy, but I’m under the impression that she was going to get those carts out, then release the ROM. Maybe that’s still the plan.

Ha ha!! I had to read that twice (it's late) before I caught the joke. “Joke”? I suppose the truth can be quite funny. And quite sad... Bring back the Gameline!!!
-
I also found a typo on the main page, but it was in the “Did you know?” box. It said that the Gameline service evolved into AOL; obviously “evolved” was missing its initial D.
-
That reminds me of my observation that media labeled “for mature readers/audiences” seldom are. Because the graphics are crude, in more ways than one.

Interesting hypothesis. How apt if correct!

Not only does Jahfish have God...but he can play God. My guess is it’s Tutankham.

All the advertising I saw was in English. The language may be linked to the language preferences our browsers are sending. Anyway, I found this quote from the article amusing: Obviously the speaker didn’t check out AtariAge!
