  1. I acquire to play—so, no boxed game in my possession stays boxed for long—but I do prefer to have the box, manual, and other materials, as they go a long way in re-creating those days of yore. However, a box is not a sine qua non, and I'm getting to the point that most of the VCS games I still want are going to be harder to get “complete”.

Each set of paddle controllers is a pair whose cords join together to plug into a single controller port. Since the 2600 has two controller ports, four-player paddle games are possible.

The Warlords suggestion is good. I would add Video Olympics, which also includes some four-player games and has a greater number and breadth of gameplay variations.

Not a character per se, but it was part of the playfield in Video Pinball.

    Rhindle the Red.

Yorgle's in all the variations, and as such he embodies the ubiquity intrinsic to mascot status. Rhindle, on the other hand, is the badass dragon trotted out only for special occasions in Mascotland.

And if you happened to flip the wrong difficulty switch by “accident” while your opponent wasn't looking, well, that's just the luck of the flip.

That's how it works for all of them. Multiload games ought to be encoded over multiple tracks; so, choose the appropriate track and play it.

It might be easier to obtain an actual Supercharger. Here's why, from Chad Schell's Cuttle Cart page:

    quote
The Cuttle Carts are sold out and no longer in production. They were a limited run item, with a total of 204 carts produced at a price of $100.00 each. I currently have no plans of producing any more, especially not as I work to finish up my thesis.

Overall I find Running with Scissors the most lackluster of “Weird Al” Yankovic's albums, but I certainly enjoy this song.

Would the information transfer the same way? I can't imagine Starpath would allow something like that.

    Why not? Milli Vanilli did!

I.e., the game doesn't exist. Hence, “keine kleine Maus wohnt hier”—no tiny mouse lives here. QED.

I'm a “German fan” only in the sense of being a fan of the German language, rather than a fan who is German (unless you trace my ancestry back several generations).

Before you guys get too excited about my German-speaking proclivities, remember: I added only one word to that sentence! (And it's a short one! )

I had similar thoughts a couple of Christmases ago when I attended a party thrown by someone with one of these projector TVs throwing images against a blank wall. No games were played, but man, Troops (from the DVD accompanying the first issue of Total Movie magazine) has never looked more awesome. I've had a lot of fun speculating what VCS games would benefit most from the supermagnification. (Not as much fun, I am sure, as if I actually played them that way. I'm going to have to get invited back...)
