  1. Sold quite a few things on my work account but never electronics and never my own items : Cars, hitch pins and machines. We will see how it goes. I wish I had not used my work account to buy things as I might have a better reputation on my personal account. Someone is offering to buy it and have it shipped to Delaware and eventually Brazil. I assume I should stay away from that scenario. I really would be powerless if they said it didn't work. I have more systems to put out but they will definitely fall in the used categories.
  2. I changed the description but I think it still fits best in that open box category. I'll chat with the buyer before I ship it so there is no confusion. The mark on the back of that controller looks like something from the factory(a blemish). I'll wipe it down to remove the smudge. It's a nice system, thanks for the tips. I have more to sell once this one goes. It's a learning curve. I've been buying way too many systems during Covid.
  3. Decent point, I just copied an existing ad and didn't catch that. I'll remove CIB but leave it as complete components. The open box descriptor from ebay says it doesn't have to have original packaging so I'll leave it in that category.
  4. Have you tried Atariage Marketplace on Facebook. Someone was selling one or $50 earlier this week.
  5. At this point I'm not doing anything to it. It's a nice piece and the early interest it has garnered on ebay indicates it will fetch a fair price. I'll be Jag shopping next week if anyone has one they would like to sell. It doesn't have to be pristine because I will take it apart, tinker with it, admire it and play it. I wasn't sure what I wanted when I started collecting last year and bought the Gemini on a whim. I found out that I enjoy taking these things apart, recapping them and cleaning them just as much as I do playing them. I'll buy a used Gemini and do the same to it but the one I have is nice enough to be in someone's collection. Until then I have a fresh 7800 to rip into.
  6. None of the contact points show any sign of wear, the cords are all wrapped up nicely with the same ties and it looks untouched. The guy I got it from also said it was never used. If someone used it they did a fine job of hiding the fact. Why would they go through all that trouble for something that they probably bought for $50 in the early eighties? Can I say with 100% certainty that it is unused, no but it passes the eye test enough for me to say it.
  7. If I have this pigtail from Console 5 and this power adapter 9v 1.5a with an led supply end on it I have a 7800 power supply right?
  8. I’ll try it a few days and see what happens. Worst case it goes in plexiglass on the wall, best case an eBay bidding war.
  9. It looks like the last bit of Jaguars(like the one I am asking for) sold on Ebay for about $300 each. That's not exactly a kings ransom. I have nothing to lose by offering this up. I see good Geminis going for that and only one other untouched one even available.
  10. I have an unused complete Coleco Gemini system with Venture cart. It is in the original styrofoam but has no box. The foam is not in great shape on the outside as the person who shipped it to me just taped it and didn't wrap it. I would like to trade for a working Jaguar system with at least one controller and game. Anyone interested?
  11. My First Heavy Sixer, a Taiwan version. T0025694 The original owner used it for a few years then put it in a closet for over three decades. The switches slide like smooth glass and the picture is incredible. The joysticks need a little love but the wood front is in great shape.
  12. My first heavy sixer and it’s a Taiwan model. Switches are so smooth and it works great. Guy said they put it in a closet over thirty years ago and forgot about it.
  13. The streak of my Atari buying is over. I have no idea how to fix this but I’ll do it somehow.
  14. This auction checked quite a few boxes for me. I think I will bundle the duplicates with my spare 5200 and sell it. Does anyone know if I can order a hinged cover for a 5200? I bought the spare specifically for the cover and it actually works great.
  15. saw this on Ankeny Iowa Facebook Marketplace. Looks like a good bunch for an Atari computer collector My husband was a leader of an Atari user group in the 70’s. He has virtually all anyone needs to run Atari computer systems. Joysticks, repair parts, manuals, cables, a 130XE computer and an 800 computer, multiple disc drives, owners and operators manuals, the list goes on. I need the space and he is parting with all of it. $500 OBO
  16. It's been a few days since I bought any carts. This one was too nice to pass up.
  17. Got tired of having to get everything out of totes any time I wanted to play for a bit so I carved a little piece out of the basement for myself. Now all we need is a blizzard. The only system I still want is the 7800. I’ll keep adding games to my collection til I do.
  18. Bought a mystery box on marketplace for $40. 41 carts(Ghost Manor biggest get), a light sixer(Taiwan), three Atari joysticks(2xCX10, 1xCX40), two Slik Stiks, two set of paddles and a Nintendo power supply. Came in a suitcase that I intend to clean up and store extra carts in. Most of it works but console has fire buttons stuck on. I ordered a tune up kit and will switch chips out of a good unit to find the bad ones. Overall a good deal but filthy.
  19. OK, it arrived today. it has never been used. It has a Venture game(no round sticker) with it and a Venture booklet which was under the console. I do believe it was the game packed with it because the Venture booklet has Gemini instructions inside. Since it is new I don’t have the heart to play it. It also included a WYE connector and two game cables. Serial number 004502. I have no idea how many were made but I’m pretty ecstatic.
  20. I thought it was odd when he told me Venture was the game packed in it. I'll patiently wait for it to arrive. I didn't figure it to be worth the $2k a few are asking on ebay but I'm hoping it is all there and one more check off my list. I did see that sticker on some ebay games.
  21. I have my first Gemini coming to me in the mail. I hope it is as nice as advertised. Do I open it up and use it or save it for collector value and buy a used one? It comes with a gray Venture game.
  22. I literally started my 5200 collection from scratch on Saturday. My initial pickup is a two port and four port system, two controllers, Pacman, Countermeasure, Qbert, Centipede and Dig Dug. I cleaned the 2 port system and stole the controller panel cover off of the four port system. I did this because neither came with a power supply and I found a suitable 9v 2.5A power supply at Menards. The system powers up fine, all carts but Qbert work well and the joysticks are in terrible shape. I ordered two new mylar flex circuits for the joysticks to see if I can bring them back to life. They each sort-of work and don't appear impossible to fix. The system is very touch sensitive and will require some testing and probably some replacement parts. I'll build a power system for the 4 port this winter and see how it plays. Until then I'll start adding carts and making my rounds at the stores for a 7800 to show up and finish my list. I have 2600, 5200, intellivision and colecovision. I'll stop at the 7800 and jump forward to the VCSW from there. One immediate thing I do need are boots for the controllers. Are they available anywhere?
