  1. Had a dream last night Tommy was showing off some of the peripherals for Amico. A couple of them involved placing the controller into a remote-controlled monster truck, bicycle, or a thing that could scale the walls, all controlled in-game, sorta like a cooler Mario Kart Live Home Circuit.

Is my subconscious onto anything Tommy?? XD

    Microsurgeon for sure at #1.

    Beauty and the Beast

I'll say this as well.  This is how you will separate Amico from the other "couch" consoles.  Titles like this and Bomb Squad will show Amico is not just a retro console, or a quick hit game system.  It's a total system backed by a team that really knows how to challenge you.  Having a game library with games that are this complex and fun will certainly give Amico a serious side it needs to have.

Maybe add a little Moon Cresta or Astro Blaster to Demon Attack as well... where you can dock your ship to another section for more fire-power.   Many of the vertical style space shooters of the 90's similar to  Raiden and the like used floating power-ups.  But you have that already with Astrosmash.  Something different would be good here.

Was never a fan of Beauty and the Beast, reminded me of a Donkey Kong/Crazy Climber mash-up.  Definitely curious to see what you're going to do with this title.

Selfishly I want Demon Attack first but this response I absolutely agree with. I can wait for it if it means differentiating a bit from Astrosmash and the like :)

If you notice those are always pretty much the same people who just in a comment or two earlier said it sucks, the games look lame & like Flash games (so they were never 'in') and if you read a bit farther they will confess the are basically butt-hurt over something Tommy said about their personally favorite console or something. Meanwhile Amico live chats just keep getting bigger, Reddit /r/Amico keeps on growing (more than doubled in size since last year), Intellivision YouTube subs keep climbing, and people who make videos about the Amico have their highest video views. I find it hilarious they are desperately hoping people will join in their staged 'walkout', they don't realize that people like what they see are are just patiently waiting for the console to ship. BTW they will be back posting next week about the next video even thought they are 'out' 🤣

    Too true! Well said!

  4. It is so frustrating to go on reddit/elsewhere to discuss Amico and see people all, "delay means bad! I'm OUT", like it's such a burden for you to wait a little bit longer for a finished, tested product, during a pandemic no less, and from a company that, very understandably, and as Tommy has explained many times, cannot afford to botch their launch.

I will happily wait patiently for Amico, gives me more time to save up for games, not to mention look forward to a new console for the first time in probably a decade.

    :)

Yes!  We have 2 really unique things we have started working on.  One is hardware/accessory based and the other "game/activity" utilizes 2 controllers at once.   The game will probably be out first and probably by the end of 2022 at the latest.  The hardware add-on is currently scheduled for 2023, but still a long way to go.

The Ring Fit was cool for about 20 minutes, but personally... me & my wife got bored quick and never picked it up again after the first time we played it.  In the long run (unless they start coming out with more games for it) it doesn't seem like it was worth the purchase for us (others may feel differently), but gotta commend Nintendo for always trying to do something different and unique!

This is super exciting! Love that Intellivision is doing accessories and picking up the ball on innovation. I'm so happy I preordered, Intellivision really looks to be bringing back everything I love about video games.

And ok that essentially confirms my fear with Ring Fit, but agreed about Nintendo always trying new stuff!

    Thanks Tommy!

YES! I'd love to see a re-imagined Konami Track & Field and the sequel Hyper Sports. These games were always SUPER FUN to play with a group of friends.

    The more the merrier! :cool::);):grin::lolblue::-o:P:rolling:

However, the Amico controller better be up to the challenge because those buttons will be taking a REAL POUNDING!

Perhaps the touch-screen could be used as a secondary option for controlling the speed.

I really love this idea! Makes it a fun little endurance marathon, kind of like a Mario Party minigame where you had to mash the buttons or spin the control stick. Hopefully they have something like that planned for Super Pro Decathalon!

ALSO, that leads me to my next question for Tommy, is there any kind of plan for fitness/wellness titles on Amico a la Wii Fit, Ring Fit Adventure, etc? Used to quite enjoy Wii Fit and I like the idea of building a casual wellness routine with a video game, but I can't justify the Switch's pricetag plus Ring Fit's additional $80.

Maybe Intellivision can do a deal for some of those Sega games! I bought Virtua Racing on the Japanese e-shop, I couldn't wait for it to come out in the West! It's the only game I've done that with. I know Sega is bringing out a mini console with Virtua Fighter on it, along with a bunch of 2D games, sadly. I already have Outrun, Hang On, Space Harrier etc on the 3DS, as well as owning Shenmue and Shenmue 2.

I never got into the Earthbound games, WarioWare was a cool series of course.  Metroid Prime 4 is meant to be coming to the Switch, but seems to be going through major issues, so who knows what will happen there.

Yeah, Sony seems to be more on point with the nostalgia side of things, but I don't have much, if any, nostalgia for stuff like Ratchet and Clank or MediEvil. Hopefully the Amico will go full nostalgia overload! The Intellivision was a bit before my time, but I do love retro games, as well as retro inspired games. And looking at some of the games for the original Intellivision it definitely seems like I've been missing out!

I'm with you, my gaming prime was in the late 90s/throughout the 00s so I mostly discovered the Atari/Intv/Coleco generation in compilations and flashback consoles. But if we can make the Amico successful there's no shortage of possibilities...hopefully it sends a message that people want more remastered classic titles that have seen limited or no re-release.

Yup, they're certainly a frustrating company to be a fan of, they're almost as bad as Sega giving us loads of Megadrive collections, but no (3D) arcade game collections! Games like SCUD Race and Daytona 2 are crying out for home conversions. Like you say, it does open the door to companies like Intellivision though!

What other Nintendo IP are you baffled by them sitting on, out of interest? I'm guessing Star Fox and F-Zero may be two of them! They're definitely two that I'm interested in seeing making a return in some form.

I am right there with you on SCUD Race/Daytona 2/probably hundreds more Sega games in their catalog collecting dust. It's a shame they don't take advantage of all the incredible stuff they produced in the 90s/00s beyond just the Genesis...the producer of the recent Sega Ages line for Switch recently revealed that Virtua Racing was the best-selling game in that lineup. The public wants it, and you'd think that would be incentive enough for Sega to do more.

For Nintendo, Star Fox and F-zero for SURE! Also Earthbound, Metroid, WarioWare...there are lots they have sidelined in favor of what they probably consider the for-sure sellers, Mario/Zelda/Smash Bros.

I get the business side of it, but there is a huge demand for nostalgic games that companies just aren't properly taking advantage of. Which is why I'm psyched for Amico. :)

Pilot Wings was definitely a great series, one of my favourites, it's crazy that we've only had one new entry in the past 23 years. And hardly any rival series, though Ultra Wings was good on the PSVR. A game like that certainly seems like a good fit for the Amico. Monkey Target was a very popular mode for the Super Monkey Ball games as well of course.

Agreed! It's baffling why Nintendo sits on certain IP for decades like they do...but all the more opportunity for a company like Intv to pick up the ball!

  10. Tommy, I apologize if this was discussed before but what are your feelings on Pilotwings and would you ever consider developing something similar for Amico? You could probably even make individual games of each minigame...couch co-op skydiving anyone?

I feel like the vibes of that game, the music, the intuitive gameplay, and just the overall atmosphere would make for a really cool experience on Amico. :)

  11. Hi all! New to the forum, super excited for the return to the roots of video gaming and every bit of news/updates on Amico!

To add my testimonial: I preordered the woodgrain VIP edition about a month ago but feared I may have missed an email from Intellivision about what to do next. I reached out via email and got a response that following business day from a friendly rep reassuring me I havent missed anything. Terrific customer service! Tommy, I am 100% here for the vision and integrity youve cultivated with Intellivision and I wish you and the company nothing but the best for the Amico launch!

I did want to chime in and add that if it hasnt been discussed before...I know Dracula has been mentioned on the list of Imagic Intv. games to be reimagined for Amico. Had a cool thought...wouldn't it be something (TM) if the new game was done in a sort of storybook style, kind of like the cutscenes to the 16-bit Castlevania games? And to keep it E10+, maybe instead of biting people you drape your cloak over them and they become vampires themselves? Not to mention 4 player couch co-op turning each other into Vampires?? Lots of possibilities there. :)
