Customs has the right and all legal power to open any package that seems suspicious, and they have NO obligation to apoligize or DENY opening a package, and if they break something while looking, tough s$%t,they say!they have MORE POWER THAN ALL POLICE FORCES COMBINED,OPP, REGIONAL ,RCMP,you name it!,they have power to arrest for D.U.I,so, not wise to cross if you've had a few, thats why ive ALWAYS swallowed my pride when coming across the CANADIAN border, trust me ,you wouldnt want to mess with CUSTOMS ,....PERIOD!!!!!!!And this all rubs off on their mail system.....CRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPPPP!

Canada customs officers are the biggest f^%$G LOSERS,no wonder the canada customs officers will now be ARMED!,they need an attitude adjustment, and quite frankly, they provoke dangerous situations with their SMART ASS ATTITUDES,the U.S customs OFFICERS,are the BEST!,the same goes for mail service,CANADA IS THE WORSE!.I can see why alot of sellers on ebay, will NOTship to Canada. And this is unbiased,I live in CANADA,just my honest opinion from TONS of experience on the matter,i dont have a criminal record, not even speeding tickets,I'm polite, yes sir,no sir, etc, and I still get treated like crap when i come back into CANADA from the U.S.,and so do every other CANADIAN that comes BACK,into CANADA,you'd expect that treatment going into ANOTHER COUNTRY,not into your OWN!.

Glad I was able to help. The Brightness level of the TV makes a HUGE difference as you have now found out first hand. I really suggest you get Alien Brigade now for your 7800. It's a must have title, an expensive one, but still a must. Also 2600 Shooting Arcade is prob the best light gun game across both the 2600 and 7800 by a mile IMO. Alien Brigade would be 2nd. Sentinel for the 2600 and 7800 are both good but are really the exact same game with obvious graphical improvments on the 7800 version over the 2600. Hey,you werent kidding when you said Alien Brigade is expensive!and the ones I saw on ebay,(2),as of late, are all from the UK,which will probably change soon, and going for like $40-$100,U.S!! and that doesnt include shipping fee and exchange rate from pounds to dollars on the already pricey game cartridge. Most alien brigades that I've seen on ebay are of the pal format, and I'm in a NTSC region,I'll just keep looking though, never know when a good deal will pop up.

Need help with scrambled Colecovision Screen
Rik replied to strattsp's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've had scrambled screen problems due to broken solder joints inside the silver box ,the box inside the CV where the tv/game switch box cable plugs into the console.I had to open up the console, remove the cover of the cable box,and re-solder the cracked joints inside, now any movement of the console or cable while playing, which made the screen scramble, is gone. Two of the six CV consoles I have had this problem, other than that, they've all worked trouble free. -
SORRY,double post,browser screwed up.

The worse thing I can see about the games is the WHITE background,on alot of the games,UGH!,that's the worse thing for your eyes, and looks so un-lifelike,most of the games look like business performance analysis graphs.

Atari 2600 made Christmas a truely MAGICAL time for me,and others of course.God I wish I could re-live those days.I always got 2600 game carts for Christmas, and birthdays. For me the greatest years of my life were around 1981-84,when the 2600 was really popular.I remember all my buddys coming over to my place so we could play each others games we all got as presents. If anyone thinks magic isnt real, days like that are the closest proof I know that it is real, because for me those memories are truely magical, they take me back to a stress free life, and I can vividly see myself, and remember everything I did on those Christmas mornings playing my games with my buds, which to me is the only way to go back in time, sounds corny, but thats how much of an impact the atari 2600 had on me.Great topic,by the way!!!!!!

As this is the first time I,ve used any light gun,I didnt realise that by simply getting closer to the screen, the accuracy of the light gun greatly improves,I'm sitting about 3 feet from tv,the xe works great for me now, hard on the eyes though!,that ,and adjusting the brightness,as Shawn Sr. suggested, works great.Does anyone know how a light gun works?just curious.Reason I ask is because I see no light coming out of gun,or on the screen,so why is it called a light gun?Thanx!!!!!

I recieved my xe light gun today. The aim sights seem useless,i wish there was a way to calibrate the damn thing.Ive heard how a sega gun can be modified to work on the 7800,the question is ,how do you go about it?

A ? for those who collect boxed systems.
Rik replied to Wester's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You should thank her for stopping you! -
True, and respectfully taken, but back in the day when you spent as in the case here in Canada(where everything costs double, than in the U.S)$40-60 for a game cartridge, you'd expect better quality than a ASCII basic based game cart ,especially from a company, who are supposed to be pros, with programmers who have programming experience, but, yes,ALL games have a certain charm to them,pac-man,karate,e.t,squeeze box, etc. And Froggo games DID look like they were programmed by 13 year old kids. But now some can be had for a couple of bucks,so it doesn't hurt the wallet as much to try dud games.

stupidest question....know answer already
Rik replied to PressureCooker2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah,I get what you're saying.I'm one of those stupid ones who didnt get games while they were in the stores.I should have jumped on the chance to get classic game carts when the crash happened. There were bins full of CV,INTV,ATARI 2600,etc,all for like $4.99 or less at TOY-R-US here in Canada!I am kicking myself right to THIS day for not getting those games,GOD I was stupid!,now I'm paying some crazy prices on e-bay for them!,for the GOOD games that is,commons ,you can still get at thrift or flea markets, and I've seen rare ones on occasion, but games in the wild are getting scarce. -
Yes,I second that!

The figures in FROGGO'S KARATE look more like they're disco dancing ,instead of fighting. The game is soooooo bad,its hilarious, and is worth owning just for that reason!but a charming game though!
-
YES,it uses the same power supply, the jr is the same machine just compact in size for cost cutting reasons
