Its not like there's a RED BOOK value for games like there is for cars,prices are pretty well left up to the sellers or buyers as to what games are worth,they'll always fluctuate,and any seller ive seen scoffs at the collectors going prices anyway.Rarity guides are exactly what their name implys"guide"a rough idea.My own collection is priceless,because to me ,they're precious,and arent and will never be for sale for ANY price,but for the buyers,I sure as hell hope games DONT fluctuate too high in price,especially those just starting a collection,seems to me though that there is less to be found in the wild now,so,in a way ,prices will go up if you end up buyng games off E-bay,or any other on-line store,as the SHIPPING prices will GET YOU!

E.T was developed at the 2600's peak of popularity,so,it was part of the whole 80's era along with all of the other classics of its time,and if you take the time to learn how to play it so you can avoid the pits or get out of them,its a pretty good game really.I think alot of people were expecting a fast paced action game right after you plugged it in,where its more of an adventure ,and takes time to learn and think while you're playing,which disappointed alot of consumers,when it first hit the store shelves.I took the time to learn it to understand the game,and found I actually love it,its one of my faves,along with Pac-Man,for the 2600 as well

Yes,introducing people to classic gaming is great,thats why its makes me angry to see people smashing or throwing out perfectly good consoles,especially the 2600!,which leaves less and less for the new generation to enjoy,yes there's emulation,but its not the same as having the console and plugging the game cart in to play,that's what it's all about.

I use those emery board nail files that you can get at the pharmacy around the cosmetics section to clean the contacts on consoles,They're thin,just the right thickness,and will not bend,just insert and out,and work your way to the other end,of the slot on your console,they do a fantastic job,then squirt with a little contact cleaner,to get any loose dirt residue out.

I have that game MIB,and its one of my favourite games for the 2600,its a neat original game that I think any 2600 fan should have.The box even has the price sticker showing the price I paid for it when it hit the shelves back in 82,which is $8.88

Let me give you a hint: Best Electronics != Best Buy Whatever ,Best Buy,Best Electronics. I have a tendency to confuse the two,we have both here where I am at,and neither sell the classic stuff,as I checked both stores,just the U.S stores do,as I had to phone the head offices myself,cus,the DUUUUUUMBASSSSSSES at the stores dont have a clue,even after telling me "oh,someone else came in and asked if we sell classic gaming stuff",well,hasn't the thought of asking for the customer come to mind?,nooooo,thats too much work for them!lI'll just get the stuff on e-bay,where I got all my best stuff,much easier ,and less hassle,and dont have to deal with dozey clerks.

Here in Canada, Best electronics or best buy,ive been to ALL of them,anyway ive been to all of them here where i live and theres NO such thing as classic gaming equipment,just new modern stuff,no-one has a clue about best buy or electronics selling old atari stuff of whatever,the salesmen all look at me like im on drugs,and they say"WE NEVER EVER SOLD SUCH STUFF,"and i must be referring to the U.S stores,it doesnt surprise me as the U.S has all the COOL stores anyway,i should have known. You have GOT to be kidding? Nope,I didnt know it was just in the U.S,as i have never shopped at best buy or best electronics,or any other electronics store,if i want an electrical appliance,i go to the flea market and buy used,as i have become sick and f$%%^%^G tired of screwing around with having to replace everything because of redundancy,as far as blue ray and hd,ill wait till you can get them for almost nothing at the flea market or pawn shop,thrift ,like where all the other new crap that comes out ends up at after a YEAR of release.

This topic made me think about BERZERK for the 2600,the VOICE enhanced one.I've NEVER seen this game for sale anywhere,even on E-bay,must be pretty rare,and I never hear anyone talking about it.

Hello,I was wondering about the quality of the Atari xe light gun.I ask because i got one for pretty cheap,for my 7800,but seller said it wasnt tested,I dont mind too much if it doesnt work,I got it so damn cheap,just thinking about what the chances are of whether or not it'll work,I thought of the 5200 joysticks which were known for Not working whenever found in the wild,I hope the gun was of better quality!I havent recieved it yet.The person im getting it from is a friend,im not even paying shipping,but id still like it to work,as these things can be pricey, or hard to get a hold of!
