  1. You beat me to it! Hoe bout Cruise Missile and Squeeze Box? Yeah, right on,i am becoming a huge fan of games considered by others to be pure garbage,as they all have a certain charm!
  2. Yeah, i got sick of collecting for this system,as i walked in cold rainy weather to the thrift store, and caught the worst cold i ever had.
  3. Yes,it is clearly stated in the games instruction manual to make sure BOTH difficulty switches are in the right position to play.
  4. Yeah, well, some people are into that, thats their business,no need to "HATE" them, some people collect toasters, and bottlecaps, each to their own, thats my take on it,however its also your right to dislike them if you desire.I used to say "why the heck would someone want a piece of junk like the ADAM?big mistake! After seeing the MANY people who love the ADAM,I,ve learned not to insult anyones collecting tastes,my apolgies to anyone i might have offened!
  5. No,kidding eh!there's something about opening a sealed game, its like as soon as you open it,its like there goes its value down the drain, but yeah,i say games are meant to be played
  6. Hi,i just recieved a supposedly sealed game today,TOWER TOPPLER for the 7800.It looked pretty legit as a factory sealed game, but after opening it and putting the game in the machine,i noticed that high scores were posted with peoples initials, looks like i discovered a way to see whether or not a factory sealed game is legit,or were the initials done at factory, shouldnt high scores be blank on a new game?
  7. Sony's a HUGE corporation, they can do what they want,a huge corporation also harbors the most greedy execs,no,i have no love for the big corporates, ive always hated greed, especially when it interferes with the health of classic gaming!
  8. Thats so if they get another loose copy of the games that go in those boxes, they can re-seal them,so they look like new, sell them for more$ as new, thats something the mom and pop shops are more likely to do,I've seen it done many a times, you really gotta watch what you buy in some stores.
  9. There you go,I rest my case!
  10. Gettting the fixed version of impossible mission is too much hassle, and im not tech savvy enough,to modify,i'll just settle for the original!too bad they screwed this game up,it would've been rated as a true classic for the systemI think.
  11. How old are you? I ask because if you didn't grow up with an Atari, you're likely never going to really appreciate or enjoy the games as much as you do those of modern consoles. Me, I've been playing Atari since age 8 (well over two decades ago). The nostalgia factor isn't what keeps me playing it today; it's the fact I really enjoy playing Atari games, moreso than I do anything on my PS2, and likely will even when I'm 70 years old and this whole trendy "retro" phase has long died out. I am old enough to have purchased pitfall when it first hit the shelves, and i dont think that just because you grew with something, necessarily means you'll never get tired or outgrow interest in it,people change, thats one reason why the divorce rate is so high.
  12. I am beginning to feel my interest in actually playing classic games, 2600,INTV,CV,slip away, and this I am pretty not happy about.I am now beginning to get more into the nostalgia of it all,and reading old articles from the 80's about that period, guess it must be age, pretty crummy thing to say,I know, but i cant help the way i feel!,I hope its just a phase, and my interest will come back. But i STILL treasure my collection of games and consoles though!
  13. Thats because maybe you're refering to the "super game",carts that atari made for the 7800 games that boosted the sound quality with the added pokey chip?as the other 7800 games just used the 2600 chip, stupid huh!The pitfall2 cart contained a chip to boost the sound, thats why pitfall2 sounds so good, the 2600 couldnt do it alone.Ripping sounds over to the 7800 from the 2600 would just sound the same wouldnt it?,as the 7800 uses the same sound chip,im confused too!i might be wrong. The 2600 had pretty crude sound,IMO,unless with the aid of an added special chip to improve the sound, or from clever programming,i mean look at 7800 POLE POSITION 2,the engine sounds exactly like the engine sound ACTIVISION'S ENDURO produces.Atari decided not to put the superior pokey chip in the 7800,for 2 reasons from what i read, one is because there wasnt enough room on the 7800's motherboard for the pokey, and 2,too expensive,so they just put in the 2600 one, which ordered by Jacky Tramiel to cut costs, probably know all this already, buts thats my understanding.
  14. Goddamn, thats alot of good info shadow!,i always liked the money electricians make, but, electrical theory is so CONFUSING to me,could never understand it,and i never will!
  15. It is just amazing the POWER classic gaming had back in the 80,s,i mean big corporations like PEPSI,toothpaste companys making games for their products for sale to the public,or even just to employees, one of the best things about the 80,s,such a fun decade in EVERY WAY,even the way the girls dressed!!!
  16. Yeah, but, the same can't be said of consoles and accessories, adapters, etc.
  17. Usually, collectors are only cheapskates when "BUYING"games, but, when "SELLING",all of a sudden those cheap $2.00 games are all of sudden worth 5 times as much
  18. Two words..............."STAY AWAY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Nooooooooooooo fkidding!I learned and realized a long time ago that expecting to pay $1.00-2.00,for game carts is not realistic, and It'll would take a heck of a long time like mollasses in JANUARY to get the games i want, cause i gave never seen ANYONE here in the Canadian pawn shops, flea markets, thrift shops,ANNNNNYYYYYYYYWHERE,sell games for less that $5.00,and i once refused to pay that for a few very rare games at a flea market once, thinking the vendor would reduce the price, huh,a guy came in the next weekend and bought them all,if you always expect to get games for less than $5.00 here where "I AM",you'll lose out everytime.guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Because ATARI were famous for creating excellent ideas and gaming consoles, like the 7800,and screwing it up by compromising on quality and cost cutting, shitty controllers,(5200,7800)the list goes on and on and and on,thanks to a certain Jacky boy Tramiel.
  21. Welcome, and take note of this'no question is stupid'at ,AA,ALL questions are valid as NOT EVERYONE is an expert on classic gaming!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun !!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Or from mothers who have 6 kids, from 6 different fathers
  23. Be VERY careful about using power adapters,as you can very easily burn your console out with the inapropriate one, which i found out for myself the HARD way, most of them are of the 9 volt rating, but that means nothing, its the ampere rating you have to be careful about,id get the original adapter to be on the safe side, the CV adapter is pretty much a RARE breed in the family of adapters, the same can be said of the 7800 adapter, there's tons for sell on E-bay.Using the wrong adapter with the incorrect amp rating is like putting leaded gas in an unleaded vehicle or vice versa,no good.Oh,yes,i forgot to add,if you're going to buy a CV adapter off e-bay,ask seller to give a printed statement,or ask if the adapter WORKS,and if it doesnt, there will be no problems returning it,in case its faulty.DO NOT under ANY circumstances BUY AN ADAPTER that has NOT been tested, and listed "as is",chances are VERY high you'll get a faulty oneif you dont!i,ve bought quite a few of those things and half didnt work, since ColecoVision is the cheapest built cheap ass console and accesories that i have ever seen, but its still my favorite console!
  24. Rik
