Maybe the fact that its in its shrink wrap with the hanger in the back,is rare, but,Defender is a pretty common game

    E.T.

Combat is not a bad game. At least it had several sequels, unlike E.T. And how could ET have a sequel? What were they going to call it? Et the Return? This is off topic, but, did you know they're making TITANIC 2?,..well...its being filmed under water!
  3. I walked into a EB one day and was looking around at the previously bought game section, and these two guys walked in,and started talking to the clerk, then the customer started yelling, something about his disatisfaction with their pre-ordering policy and something else, the clerk got pretty mouthy, like they usually do,he picked the WRONG guy to get smart with, because it resulted in the clerk getiing punched in the face,by the one guy who was a burly biker type, and nearly blacked out.Im not for violence, but someone has to teach these weasels some manners,i'm pretty sure this clerk will watch his mouth the next time!
  4. Well they do have a beatable version for the 7800 that fixed that bug. Get that version instead How do you know if your getting the beatable version?

  6. When I saw a 2600 commercial on tv,it was advertising SPACE INVADERS,and I thought wow, playing space invaders in your own home!I just had to have one,and I wasnt disappointed,I thought that port was the best, and still do.
  7. Yes,thats a good point, thats why I limit what I will spend on any game,I refuse to spend over $50.00cdn for ANY GAME,I have other higher priorities to take care of ,bills, mortgages, etc.I will bid on e-bay or whatever for any games I want, but if it goes over my limit, forget it,there'll always be another one!I dont care if a game isnt boxed or if the label isn't perfect,if it plays, thats good enough for me,but if I see a nice boxed game, sealed,I'll buy it,if the price is right.
  8. Midnight Mutants is pretty inexpensive. Although I agree, it should be worth more because of that. I own a boxed copy. Midnight Mutants is pretty expensive, have you looked at what they're asking for it on E-BAY or any other auction,i havent seen one under $30.00us loose, and boxed ,i've seen sealed boxed ones go for $60.00-$70.00us,overpriced?,dont know ,it all depends on whats important to the buyer, but people are gobbling them up!.And mutants is not that easy to find either!I think part of the reason, besides it was the last game made for the 7800,is that its a horror/halloween game, those types of games have always demanded high dollars.I bought all my copies on e-bay,I have 3,that was the quickest way for me to have them,if not for ebay,I'd still be looking for midnight mutants, I paid $45.00us for the mint sealed one,I was lucky I got it that CHEAP!,and I think it was worth every penny,AWESOME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't where or when you're looking. MM isn't rare. O'Shea's sold tons of new, boxed copies of it for months or years till it finally sold out. I sold my mint, boxed copy on ebay in January and it only went for $15.49. I can't imagine the price or rarity has quadrupled since then. Go on E-bay,put midnight mutants in the search box,or just try bidding on one, you'll see what i mean, e-bay is just the easiest way for me to get my hands on 7800 games, you can wait till the cows come home to find games like these, the last time i saw a 7800 game at the flea market or pawn,or thrift shop is like NEVER,in the 7 years ive been collecting.Ive looked on other on-line stores, but all they have are the common carts, who wants another pole position 2?and i never said, midnight mutants is rare, just HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER,and VERY HARD TO FIND IN THE WILD.EVERY bid for THIS game HAS turned into a bidding war for me,but yes with patience you can snag it for a reasonable price,LOOSE,that is,sealed, get ready to pay quite a high price.People may not all be fans of e-bay,but because of e-bay i'm getting all the games I want, without waiting years to find them at thrift stores, and that suits me fine.
  9. I hate when people punch in the screwholes underneath the otherwise perfect labels
  10. You should have said, yeah so does your mother.
  11. 1 Stevie wonder 2 Jeff Healy 3 Ronnie Milsap, and Bozo the Clown, not sure if ronnie's dead or not

  13. The leisure vision games from what ive seen posted here probably weren't the best games, but i think its still collectable, ive seen screenshots, and just by looking at those, the games graphics really dont look bad at all,but how they play?thats another question,EVERONE HAS DIFFERENT TASTES.Those consoles seem to be the HARDEST to find.im thinking of selling my 8 games i found for it at the thrift store, but have absolutely no idea what they're worth, and if i sell them,i dont want to be called a ripp-off artist which seems SO easy to get labeled ,as you just cant satisfy everyone,If I do sell them ,it will be AS IS,because i do not have a console to test them.I paid just under $4.00 each at the thrift store, thinking to keep them as i was also thinking of getting the console to play them, but now i dont know...those consoles are suuuuuuuuuuuuper rare,to locate that is,and if its true they were inferior to even the 2600 ..no thanks...maybe someone else wants them, plus ,i really am running out of room for all these systems!
  14. What you're trying to do is describe the nature of logic as a way to establish a universal foundation upon which everyone can agree, so we can then derive truth. The fact is, however, that there are profound differences in how people even think all the way down to discussions of logic, proof, and evidence. I know this because I was married to a Jehovah's Witness who only believed what she was told to believe, including that the earth is only 6,000 years old. To some people, rationalization passes for logic. they do not say the earth is only 6000 years old, altogether, they mean that the earth is 6000 years old starting after the creation of Adam and eve, till now,god only knows how old the earth is before that. There were dinosaurs way before us,and that they fully realize, its quite obvious even to j.w's that there are things on the earth older than 6000 years,my parents are J.W's,but they measure the earths age after the creation of the first man and woman, because the time before that is not considered important to them.
  15. Ah,the GOOD OLE DAYS,the 80's.Its sad that we'll never see contests like this anymore. The 80's was so much fun!.Now everythings GLOOM AND DOOM.I get such a rush watching the old 80's classic gaming commercials. And my favorite thing to read about from that era is of course the"SWORD QUEST"contest, fascinating in every sense of the word!!!!!!!
  16. Take me to the spot ,dig a hole, and pull out the evidence, bits of plastic, circuit board, etc, and if buried in concrete, all the better, as preservability would be magnified, photos and gossip dont prove sweet nothing, then I'll see it as true.THAT is the ONLY way to prove it.And when I say"you" I mean if a bunch of ATARI buffs did this,as anyone else couldnt really give a rats ass if this were true or not.
  17. Overall I'd have to agree, but the 7800 games I have bought recently were brand spanking new, the shrink wrapping still had the plastic hanging do-dad attached, the boxes showed no sign of being opened around the lid tabs where you would normally expect a bit of creasing and everything inside was in mint condition and still had that nice "new" smell. Whereas any 2600 "factory sealed" games are completely suss as fas I'm concerned as they were not shrink wrapped (at least not here in Oz anyway) when they were orginally released! I just got a 2600 MS.PAC-MAN,sealed with the plastic hanger on top,as the 7800 games were shrink wrapped the same way, quit a few 2600 games were shrink wrapped, here in CANADA,and i suppose the same for the U.S
  18. Factory sealed games?I,ve seen tons of sealed games for sale that are in such mint condition, with not one scratch through the seal,no humidity damage, question is,where do they get these games?(the stores),i realise that there were left overs form the famous"video game crash",but that was over like 10-20 years ago,i figure the supply would be depleted by now.I just got 4 7800 games factory sealed, and the store has hundreds more, and you can tell if a game is REALLY factory sealed,or if it has been opened.I open all my games, except for,( MIDNIGHT MUTANTS)which i have multiple copies of,does the fact that midnight mutants was the last game produced for the 7800 give it more collectors status?I KNOW there's alot of bogus sealed games, the ones i have seen are legit.
  19. I've noticed that too,I'm sure glad about that,as I have no intention of selling any of my games, that includes multiple copies as well,I am a shameless hoarder. But thats great for gamers who just want the games strictly for playing like me,as the cheaper the games are to purchase, the better for me,but that must be crap for the sellers though! In other words, it depends on which side you're on really,if its good or not.
  20. I think "BUT IT NOW"is the best F##$$g thing since sliced bread period!,i,ve found amazing deals without the hassle and time of bidding.
  21. Well yeah, but of course that's just how the original game is. firing sideways only... that IS Tutankham the video game Otherwise it's sort of like wishing you could move diagonally in Pacman Yeah,I realise that, its just I simply can't get used to that design,i 've played it alot, and cant adapt to it for some reason,I like the Egyptian theme to it though.
  22. Back in 85,at "TOYS-R-US",There was an entire display cabinet, almost the whole length of the store, which was at least 40-50 feet long, full of INTV,ATARI 2600,COLECOVISION,ETC,cartridges,most were half price, and i just bought ONE,yes,ONE game,'DONKEY KONG JR."for the COLECOVISION.If I had known then that there was going to be a classic video game crash,I would,or should have, went to the nearest bank machine, taken out at least a thousand dollars, and bought all the games I could fit in the shopping cart.Man I wish I could go back in time!!!!!!!!
  23. Ohhhh yes!,I bought them today, they are OCEAN BATTLE,SOCCER,BRAIN QUIZ,3D-BOWLING,STAR CHESS,BREAKAWAY,CAPTURE, and,BASEBAll.I was hoping to have some input on the quality of the console that plays these games, and also if anyone has played these games posted above,as I'm not sure on whether to sell these,or keep them, and aquire a console for them.
  24. I wouldnt doubt it if Jack kept it for himself,if true.Just adds more proof that he was a miser. But,then again,he owned the company,i would have done the same thing if i was in his shoes!
  25. I'd say"DONKEY KONG",there's just something about the 2600 version that I find just totally irresistably addicting,I love this version, its my favorite!,can't get the the sound effect when MARIO gets killed out of my head, awesome!!!!!!!!
