Hi,just wondering, just how hard to you have to press the power botton on the 7800 for it to power up?weird question huh?its just that I have to press REALLY hard for the light to light up,and the title screen to show up,I have to press so hard I'm afraid I'll break the damn thing,I have to do the same thing for the RESET switch on my INTV,which I heard is normal for the INTV,I tried opening it up and cleaning the switches also, same prob,is this a known problem with the 7800?thanx.

HDTV taking over?if it does, and i wouldnt be surprised if it actually did,i'd be packing it in,as i refuse to buy an hdtv,(partly cause i NEVER buy new technology until the price goes down and the bugs are taken out,)unless there will be a converter available,to convert back to ntsc, havent checked in on it yet,im still thinking about the new hd-blue ray players!!!!!!!!which i will NOT buy either, too many probs reported by buyers of that junk, seems that and cars is where all my moneys going.

Yes,Atari could never seem to get anything right could they?(they did with the 2600 though!),,it was either crummy controllers,(5200)or the great 7800,but with the 2600 sound chip, and numerous other examples, stating the reason for the crummy sound was that 1 ,there wasnt enough room on the 7800 motherboard for a POKEY chip,(how big is this chip anyway?)and 2,it was too expensive, doesnt make sense to me,since Atari had to put pokeys in their"super enhanced 7800 carts, where as they could have put one in each console?maybe there was less consoles than carts produced?or the other way around?,i dont know, just weird why they did that, its really ashame, maybe the good ole miser MR.JACK TRAMIEL made that decision,to help fatten his bank account, guess he is no different than other greedy execs, anyway, the 7800 would have just been much better with a more advanced sound chip.

Yes,a prime example of how we're all becoming slaves of technology,by having to replace all our older electronics with the pricier advanced ones that break down 4-5 times a year, which leaves less, and less and less nest egg for retirement,or vacations, etc.

Well, you had a good point until you decided to quote Crowley I meant that in a positive way, like do what you like, never mind what the others say,Crowley's statement was more"rebellious"in nature, void of any religious moral standards, but who am i to make moral judgements for others?,nevertheless,Crowley had some great philosophies -
Hi,all, found 10 Leisure Vision carts today at thrift store, what were the games like for this system?not sure if I should buy them.

That is SO incredibly sad!!!!!!!!,what a special person, proof that the saying"im too old for this or that",is all in your head, your're NEVER TOO OLD FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,"DO WHAT THOU WILT" -
Yes,Tutankham is a pretty good game,i just cant get used to the limitation of only being able to fire sideways, never could get used to it.

What happens to the Ataris after we die.
Rik replied to A_Username's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Please don't die Crazy Climber! LOL Don't worry man, I'm not planning on it anytime soon. That's the thing, you dont always die naturally,or in the hospital wasting away from terminal illness,,you can get ran over by a car TOMORROW,with no will or nothing, then the court decides where your stuff goes,so MAKE OUT A WILL,I've had one since I was 20,of course, you have to keep updating every once in a while as circumstances change, but its better than the alternative already stated above. -
Thats the BEST analogy ive heard!!!!!!!!!!!!,right on!!!!!!!!
-
Games are meant to be played,go ahead open them, unless you want to aquire a little nest egg for later on ,keep them sealed, and get loose copys that you can play, thats what I do!
-
I agree, you were far from ripped off, thats an amazing deal,if you had to get all those games one by one,it would have run you a hell of alot more.

Hi,just got Xevious for my 7800,I'm not sure if its my controller or just the game design but, shooting the ufo's in the sky seems impossible, they swerve from left to right, when trying to get the saucers towards the right, more come from the left, and the ship justs move too damn slow to reach them to even get a shot, have a feeling its the game design really,i dont recall if the arcade version was like that though, just wish the ship moved from side to side faster,or maybe i simply have not played it enough to develope a strategy, just got it yesterday.

The sony playstations are pretty well on the "classic"list now,,for the folks that grew up with those,i saw 6 of them at the thrift store today!!!!!!,they just keep coming in like hot cakes!not too familiar with the newer consoles, they where the white ones that use the cd format, which i think where the first ones, not sure though, since im not interested in those, just passed by them, dont know why it is,but the thrift shops here are just jam packed with those things, were they faulty, people just dont seem to grab them up,the n64's disappear whenever there's a couple though!
-
Yes,i have the original ones, dont like the remakes
-
very cool case!!,never saw that one before.
-
I heard of that store, you guys in the states have the COOLEST stores, there's nothing like that here in Canada,at least where i am,cant recall the last time there was a classic gaming convention either, you guys get all those too!

I found 2 COLECO handheld games today,HEAD TO HEAD FOOTBALL,and head to head baseball, the huge one that is shaped like a baseball stadium diamond,i thought these were rare nowadays, boy was i wrong, not very valuable either, dont understand why though, these things are so cool!

I think part of the reason is that the CV console and related stuff where so cheaply built, buying these from ebay was "buy and pray",as it is pretty hard to find a working CV,all of them seem to have fuzzy picture problems that are intermittent, and not discovered at time pryor to shipping, sure it may be working great when shipped, but you never know when a CV will crap out on you,CV carts are another thing though, pretty prob free in my experience.

Its great to see parents getting their kids interested in CLASSIC GAMING,good, clean, wholesome fun, with ALOT less violence than the newer games!more power to you parents out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Yeah,PITFALL 2 i think, is known for not working or being a little tempermental alot of times for some reason.

Yeah,i have 4 of those storage cases,3 of them have a 2600 style woodgrain sticker running along the bottom 4 sides,(they,re not the imagic ones though),and the other one has the tinted clear cover, and black grey trimming, and has"COMPUTER GAME ORGANIZER" printed on the front lower right corner, and all have slots for game carts,on the left side, and the cases are all the same dimensions, whenever i see one at thrift shops, i grab it right away,i like them, they're pretty cool, all where found, mint no cracks, intact without a system, value village sells these separetly if they come in ,with a system inside, which is good because i do not want a system,i have enough of those!i lucked out on these!they sure take up alot of room though, and im quickly running out!
