  1. If you rescue Steve Perry, you get:

    1. Tickets to every geriatric Journey concert that is left.

    2. A date with Sherry from the "Oh Sherry" video. She was hot, but she may be a little long in the tooth now adays.

    3. 3 pairs of stretch leggings that were worn in the Seperate Ways video.

    4. A copy of the movie "Heavy Metal" where the animated chicks were obscenely hot and the song "Open Arms" premiered.

    5. Finally, a large steak that you used to put over your black eye when you got your butt kicked in middle school for secretly liking Journey versus Ozzy or Van Halen.

Just kidding of course. I used to have the game and can't remember for the likes of me what happened at the end. I do remember liking the game though. And the Journey theme song isn't half bad for the Atari's capabilities.

Actually,JOURNEY was a very well liked band in my high school,EVERYONE I KNEW LIKED THEM!You were more likely called a FAGGOT and get a black eye for liking DURAN DURAN.I read somewhere journey singer STEVE PERRY actually had a crush on the girl in the OH SHERRY video in real life, but she turned him down flat cause she didnt find him attractive at all, thats maybe why all the geeks in high school loved Journey, including me!Too bad the game JOURNEY ESCAPE wasnt all that great though.

  2. I think SPACE INVADERS was the SEED that catapulted ATARI sales through the roof,I know thats what made me buy it!!!!!!!!.I used to go over to my fathers best friends house, which was right next door to us,and we used to play literally ,SPACE INVADERS for hours,no ,not with his kids, the father!he was into it more than the kids!!!!!!!!

  3. God,im a hopeless hoarder, thats my biggest problem in collecting,i never have enough of one copy for any games.%90 of my collection,i have 4-5 copys of each, and i have 8 copys of pitfall, and 6 of pitfall 2,although they're pretty common carts

  4. Face reality, NO-ONE outside of this ATARI WORLD we at this site are inside of GIVES A RATS ASS,whether or not there is an ATARI landfill site with buried cartridges, and i HIGHLY doubt that, that show on tv (forgot what its called)on discovery channel that proves or disproves myths and urban legends will ever cover it either.Sad but true, just the facts. This is something US guys will have to proove for OURSELVES,it wouldnt be too hard for a bunch of ATARI buffs to get together at the site and see for themselves,I guess,I'm not sure what the laws are concerning this though.

just picked these up at my local thrift store. total for the 2 was $10. one is factory sealed. the other is open, the cassettes are factory sealed. the cart is in mint condition. anyone have any idea what they might be worth.

Like ive always tried to say, thrift shops DONT ALWAYS KNOW THE VALUE OF WHAT THEY'RE SELLING,and you CAN get RARITYS for cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good thing you put photos up,everyone would say your're full of it!

  6. you could graphic hack Super Cobra into it

Doesn't Super Cobra flicker lick a mad house on the 2600?

The 2600 doesn't do very well with horizontal scrolling games.

I,ve always thought it was the CV that had horrible side scrolling ,I guess its all a matter of taste and opinion,I think the 2600 scrolls fine,I,ll check just to make sure.

  7. Now, I am clearly aware that any attempt at Robotron 2084 on the VCS would most likely be called Flickertron. However, I am curious as to why we never saw a version of this game on the 2600?

Was it released to near the crash years?

It certainly couldn't have been too complex to do, that would neve rhave stopped them.

    Anyone know?

    -Ray

[/Yes,and thank god for that!dont need another flicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Man,I must be extremely lucky,EVERY CV I've bought, which is 8,have all worked flawlesly.Ive just recently had to re-solder the silver metal box solder spots inside the console where the rf cable goes into the console, which solved the fuzzy, flicker screen problem. It really unfortunate that your friends console does NOT work, try cleaning all contact points, switches, and the cart slot on the console. How was the system shipped?,was it packed with plenty of padding?if not, it could,ve recieved an impact that screwed something up inside, and I'd report this E-bay seller and file a complaint,I used to work at a postal station, and let me tell you,the way they throw those boxes around, anything fragile with decent weight, not well packed will arrive broken.Good luck

  9. SPIDERMAN is a HARD game in my opinion, really good game,I love the sick splat SPIDEY makes when falling and hitting the ground, funny as heck too!.And POPEYE ,well,I was quite surprised at how GOOD it looked, and how WELL it played,I was expecting another DONKEY KONG JR., graphics wise with POPEYE.

Well no, at least Popeye looks like Popeye and not some horrid brown blob of Feces.

    -Ray

    Thats what i SAID!!!!!

    LOL

I know, I just wanted to type brown blob of feces. :D

    -Ray

  11. I remember,in the early eighties,I bought FINAL APPROACH,and I thought the game sucked so bad, that it was a good candidate to be opened up to see whats inside.I destroyed it in the process, and im kicking myself today for that, how could I have been so friggin stupid? Now l'll have to track one down on e-bay.Now, I dont think any game is bad, there're still classic games, and all have their own good qualitys about them.

  13. Theres still obviously remnants of TAPES,8 track, cassette, still in existence from the 70's and 80's era and probably before that,so,its whatever you grew up with,The next generation will NEVER have heard of TAPES,that will be ANCIENT technology only seen in museums. So,whatever format is used for games, movies, recordings in the new generation, i bet will be mistakingly called by the older technology,we have today, just like people calling GAME PROGRAMS,"TAPES",thats my theory. Also, how about the games that did come on tape cassettes, for the atari, that didnt help either!

  14. What is wrong with my copy of Frogger!

It is completely impossible to land in the far right "bay" or whatever you call it.

All the others play as they should but when you go for the one on the far right your frog immediatly dies when you jump! :? :x Was their ever a recall on this PB Game? Maybe I have a defective one.

I had the same problem, and it WAS the DIFFICULTY switch,I put it on b position, and it was fine,,i'd say, your difficulty switch is not working

  15. I see the tapes on eBay all the time but I wonder who is buying them. Would the tapes still be useful after all these years? Would a dropout pretty much make it useless?

I guess I'm asking because that might be next on my "I'm buying way too much old Atari crap lately" obsession list

I,d make backup copies of those tapes if you buy any, and keep the originals in good condition incase the deck chews them up.Its always good to have the tapes anyway for collectors status even if you cant play them.

  16. Hi guys. This Saturday I found a 2600 with two controllers and all hookups for free at a garage sale. Unfortunately the woman did not have any carts. I plugged it in and when I turn it on i get different colored bars and patterns and occasionally tones. Is this whats supposed to happen because there is no cart in the VCS or is there something wrong with my system?

Yes,thats what you see when you turn on a 2600 with no Cartridge in it,DONT do it anymore, thats a good way to decrease the life of ANY console

  17. I'm sure this has been discussed before but again I couldn't really find anything with a search so here it goes again...

I've been using a 7800 for the past few years but today I decided to dust off the 4 switch 2600 and hook her back up for those few games that depend on the Color / BW switch (Gunfight homebrew, Star Master etc.) and to my dismay I can't find a power supply!

I was gonna order one from Best but that will be on Monday.

I have a few universal power supplies that fit the 2600 but they don't seem to do anything.

I'm outputting 9 volts and I even tried flipping the polarity but neither one results in anything

So is there a special type of adaptor I can ask for at the Radio Shack about a mile away that will do the trick or do I just call Best on Monday and get an official one sometime next week.

You just cant use any adapter, most adapters at radio shack are 9volt,that doesnt mean its the right one, what s important is the mA rating, here are the specs for the atari 2600 adapter--INPUT=120VAC,60Hz,200mA.OUTPUT=9VDC,500mA.I myself looked at radio shack(now called THE SOURCE)here in Canada and could NOT find the proper one with the proper mA rating.I ordered mine fromATARIGUIDE.COM.Plus,using the ORIGINAL or exact equivalent Atari adapter, the tip is permanent, and you wont accidently put the tip on in the wrong direction and fry your Atari,DONT screw around with ADAPTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. NO there all wrong what you must do is. Get a bucket of water fille it add some soap, then throw all the dirty carteidges in there let them soak for about an hour. when you come back they will be clean, so they dry faster i would let them air dry or throw them in the laundry drayer and set it too high

No disrespect intended,ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!,some carts are pretty tightly sealed, they will let water in,but wont let it all out, which will corode them to nothing, and on top of that, that will destroy the labels.Water + electronics DONT mix, thats me though,DO WHAT THOU WILT.This is a joke right?

  19. I am an honest person.

This is sold, the receiver is aware I was unable to test it, thanks for your interest guys!

Yes,i believe you are an honest person, but im talking from the buyers point of view,a buyer doesnt know you. There are alot of lying scumbag ripp-off artists out there, that ruin it for the HONEST people like YOU,so,its the BUYERS RIGHT to protect themselves by asking ALOT of questions. With that said,as a seller, you have to understand a buyers suspicions, and YOU as the SELLER,should not be OFFENDED by questions your buyers ask,i am an honest person too,and ive been asked some pretty specific questions that would downright offend someone who is not experienced in selling on places like E-bay,but the buyers dont KNOW YOU.This may seem all pretty obvious, and you may already know this, but,i myself used to get offened by some of the questions asked to me while selling stuff, but i now understand why people are VERY cautious.Anyway, congrats on selling your package, every sell is a learning experience!

  20. yeah people will think it is broken because u did not test it

I doubt that, the unit's in good condition, I inspected and cleaned it myself, I'm very confident it works, I've never seen a non working cart system, unless it was smashed or cracked, or water damage.. this came from a clean storage unit and everything looks in great condition, even the cardboard from the games shows little weather age (still white)

I don't have the cables to hook up to a modern TV... what do I need? (jack number.. whatever?)

Cant judge a book by its cover, there can be faults inside the componants themselves which you cant see from their outside appearance! So yes, test it,you cant expect to sell a console if you havent tested it,and if testing it's impossible for whatever reason, you MUST state that, and sell as is,and if you know for a FACT, it doesnt work,SAY SO,cause it doesn't take much to get blacklisted as a SELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Ecoleco's carts are way overpriced, and yes whatever you try to order, its always the same story"OUT OF STOCK"even when its posted as"IN STOCK".I've aquired quite a few CV carts form E-bay,I got ATRARISOFT'S JUNGLE HUNT (loose) for the CV for under $20.00.I f you're clever enough, you can win some pretty cool"rare" carts for any classic game console on E-bay without paying a fortune. If Ecoleco is going to sell cartridges for $25-$30,at least they can sell the original games, with the ORIGINAL insructions, not cheap ass photo copy's
