Cool looking box!

There sure as heck ain't no shortage for this game. This one gaming store has 4 copies of Journey Escape.Every time I see games for sale, %98 of the time it's in there among the others, often more than one in the bunch also.
-
Although off topic, someone mentioned something about Journey's original singer.Robert Fleischmann was Journey's 1st or 2nd? singer who also sang for VINNIE VINCENT'S INVASION.

Yet another Craigslist hilarity $1000, made in original "garage"!
Rik replied to Pioneer4x4's topic in Atari 2600
I found a Mint HS about 2-3, closer to 3, years ago at a thrift store for $39.99.What is the actual average price if one was to find one today It seems the price is going up as time goes on.If that's the case i sure am glad i found that one for that price! It's nice to see the price go up , great if you're selling one, but not so great when buying! -
Leisure Suit Larry 7 Review - Not Safe for Work
Rik replied to Metal Jesus's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My B.C'S Quest For Tires has Sierra On-line Inc on a blue and silver foil label where as B.C 2 Grog's Revenge does not show Sierra anywhere on label. What is that all about. -
As long as it's FAKE fur of course!

Leisure Suit Larry 7 Review - Not Safe for Work
Rik replied to Metal Jesus's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yep. The Sierra of today is nothing like when I worked there. They closed Dynamix (some of my personal favorite games), closed the office building in Bellevue where we worked, and sold the company to the French company Vivendi. Now Vivendi is merged with Activision and Sierra only existed in name... Nobody from the Sierra of old is there now, which is unfortunate...because so many of those classic games are still loved by gamers like us. Wow!!!!, please elaborate about your time at Sierra, if that's alright with you.Did you work there when founders Ken and Roberta were there?I for some reason see Ken as a hard ass, was he difficult to work for? Thanks! -

Fun game!I have most of the Sierra titles. The "Quest" titles are all great IMO, especially Police and King's Quest. This is the era of PC gaming i loved the most, the "Adventure" gaming era.Sierra, when Roberta and Ken Williams where running things was THE best.I absolutely detest the NEW Sierra of today, in fact it's not even Sierra at all to me. -
There are several aspects of this hobby that i enjoy.I love cleaning up dirty, filthy neglected consoles and games to make them look new again.I also love reading about the early days of classic gaming and the numerous interviews by the numerous programmers/creators of games.Of the 2, i enjoy cleaning up games and consoles the most.To me, nothing is more satisfying than rescuing dirty, non-working games and consoles, to make them work and look new again.Hunting down games is great also.I find the best games when i least expect it.

The official Atari-2600-to-ColecoVision discussion thread
Rik replied to Pixelboy's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
This IS an awesome thread that just makes me wish even more that the "Crash" wouldn't have happened so abruptly!Maybe if the crash was delayed for maybe say, 1-2 years, some of these 2600 to CV ports would've actually happened?I would love to have more Activision 2600 games ported to the CV.I wonder if the games were ported back then, would they be as good as today's home brews? probably not too likely. -
The best alcohol purity / cartridge cleaning methods thread.
Rik replied to Ratty's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've always used spray contact cleaner which has 0% water, and cosmetic swabs, same idea as a Q-tip, but have a lint free durable, cleanable sponge tip.One sponge tip swab lasts for 15-20 or more cartridge contact cleanings at least.Contact cleaner is the best, but expensive, i also use it to clean PC circuit boards, electrical connections and a bunch of other things like that. -
In reply directly to O.P. question, ......not really.Everyone has issues or problems whether they are mental, physical, behavioral.Plus, what is NORMAL?I've heard countless times, shrinks, Psychiatrists, or whatever telling others what's normal and proper behavior and are often caught doing the things they are telling others is NOT "NORMAL". I believe as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, physically or mentally, live your life as you want to.Actors, Rock Stars, any form of Artist, have the biggest reputation for being mentally imbalanced, but being famous they are referred to as "Eccentric", and are considered "cool" and find their certain eccentricities as "charming", where as the poor are sick and looked down upon, totally unfair.

In the not too distant past, '95, i was able to walk into any Flea market and get games and consoles for next to nothing.I once scored a Vader with all accessories, 50 games, for $5.00, that was a REALLY lucky day!Or getting a box of 20 or more 2600 games for like $10.00.Even as early as 2 years ago i was still able to get almost the same great deals, except vendors were asking on average $5.00 a game, and, 2600, CV, INTV consoles could be had for like $10..00 or even less.NOW, vendors have a PC in their stalls with internet access to eBay and showing every item folks want to buy, what the item is going for on eBay!!! Pretty common Games that are really worth like $5.00, are demanding 3-4x that much just because that's what eBay says.I told a vendor that that's not a true items value, when several folks are bidding on it and have jacked up the price.Point is, it's a flea Market, not eBay, i said, "if you want top dollar, go sell on eBay" What they're doing is defeating a Flea markets real purpose, to make bargains, and decently LOW cheap prices, not pay close to friggin retail!!!!!!!!! Every one's jumping on the eBay bandwagon.Of course it's a sellers right to get top dollar for their games, at a fair price, NOT an eBay inflated ignorant price value.Basically i think eBay has had a pretty good role in the ever increasing price of classic games and consoles.

I have the INFOCOM "The Zork Anthology, The 5 Original Text Adventures". The maps are Black and white instead of color like the ones on eBay.It has a bonus "The Original PlanetFall Text Adventure" included, all on a CD-ROM.There's also a thick 240 page hint book/guide.The box is still in shrink wrap except for the top flap to open.Is this worth as much as the eBay one?I never played the games, i totally forgot i had that package, plus I'm not into text games.I have played "Return To Zork", "want some rye? course you do!"
-
I would say so.I'm seeing it less and less on eBay.When I do see them, it's mostly the plain white label ones, and it's one or two at a time for sale, but mostly only one.I bought a yellow label Dragonfire and Fathom, both loose, mint labels, about 2 years ago, and I'm so glad I did.Like some already said, Dragonfire or Fathom in "CIB" form and sealed, would be an ultra rare find.Just finding them loose is hard enough IMO.

I get where you're coming from, but i also see it this way.I believe the quote "if you take the game for what it is and not compare it to others" is a fair one. It's like thinking since i have "MAME" then what's the point in playing any other version on any console since MAME is arcade perfect, might as well throw away all my consoles and games. There are a zillion versions of any one game but each has it's own charm, and i believe that is true for 2600 Pac-Man.Who cares if 2600 Pac-Man doesn't measure up to other versions, for "ME" it's a fun game anyways.

I received Bomb Squad and 2 other voice games for free when i bought 2 Intellivoice about 5-6 years ago from ebay, which was the best deal i ever got.All were mint, sealed .How much would a Sealed Bomb Squad go for now? That $800.00+ price is beyond belief!!!!!I think i paid $25-30 for both Intellivoices and he said he'd throw in the games for free since he was closing up shop and was desperate to get rid of everything right away., lucky me!!!

It never ceases to amaze me as to what the hell people are thinking selling things in the condition like you mentioned, that has got to be the worse i have ever heard. It's when those types are selling on eBay or any other online auction (eBay being the main culprit) that become a REAL problem. The worse i ever had was just dust, spider web inside cart port.

That's a damn nice paint job!IMO, Atari should've painted the 7800 in that silver at factory!

Atari 7800 questions to people who know the system well...
Rik replied to Robert Carrion's topic in Atari 7800
I have 2 7800's, one with the expansion hole/slot on the side, and the one without.I love this system. The only problem I have in common with yours is the stubborn power switch, where I have to press hard or 2 -3 times for system the power up.Other than that, superb system!!! -
The game that disappointed us "ALL"?I wouldn't say all, many actually do like 2600 Pac-Man, including me.I couldn't stop playing it when I 1st got it, and yes I paid full retail price, $70 CDN.There was a 20 person long line up when it was being sold the 1st day at this one department store.Sure, it sounds ridiculous to have paid that much but that was back in 81 and the promotion was the most aggressive I have ever seen for any new product, even to this day, it was unreal.I know this has been said a million times and becoming redundant but however is true, if you take the game for what it is and stop comparing it to other versions, it's IMO a pretty good game.

I like Roc 'n Rope on my Colecovision, and on MAME, great game.I don't have it for my 2600, at least i think i don't, i'll have to look.
