  1. Thanks James for MCC link, I didn't know this kind of thing exist I email them and ask them to incorporate the ColecoVision, I did provide them the link to CV FPGA..... they thanks me and they will check it and will try to inlclude the CV too! Everybody should email them about having the CV incoporate in MCC,... they'll know how much interest there is in ColecoVision +1 That's a fantastic idea Retro!I just did my part and emailed them too!.
  2. That MCC unit is badass!, i didn't know it existed either!I still would prefer a mini CV lookalike for the coolness of it like the mini 7800 and 2600 Flashbacks. But hey, i'm not complaining, the various efforts by gentlemen such as Retroillucid is very much appreciated by me and i'm thankful for the Homebrew scene we do have for CV.
  3. Welcome. If you do a search, you'll find several threads on "storage and display" ideas.
  4. Yes!Mine too!I must admit, when i 1st tried Cosmic Ark, i thought it sucked.Sometimes i just didn't give a game a chance and judged it as soon as the 1st game screen came up without even playing a full game, which was really idiotic of me. But yes, a great addictive game!!
  5. I love Demon Attack, fantastic game it is.I actually wanted the Intv version very badly back in the day, from magazines, the INTV version looked awesome, graphics wise. But now that i have the Intv version, i still find the 2600 version miles better play wise. The 2600 version also has brighter nicer looking Demons IIRC.
  6. AtariSoft titles rule.I got CV Jungle Hunt off Ebay about 2 years ago for like $35 loose, mint label, and lots of others like Centipede and Galaxian.I am glad i bought the AtariSoft titles back when they were reasonably priced. If some of you guys haven't checked on Ebay lately, you'll notice the games have pretty much almost doubled in price, especially the CIB sealed ones. The demand for CV games and stuff has increased 10 fold from maybe less than just 2 years ago, and none of the AtariSoft titles come cheap anymore.I feel for those just starting to collect.
  7. I had a feeling the games would be limited.
  8. I hope so!, I believe the consumer interest is there just by the extreme bidding and number of CV stuff available on Ebay alone.
  9. I had a weird dream last night.I walked into a gaming store and to my absolute amazement sitting in the stores front window display "Colecovision Flashback", the same concept as the Atari Flashback but for CV.I never thought of a CV Flashback console, the thought never entered my mind till i had the dream.A mini CV flashback console would be so friggin cool.I wish Coleco was still around today to do this!
  10. I don't mind the old RF TV/GAME switch boxes. The problem is finding a new one since they are no longer made.I bought about 10 of them new still in unopened packages at flea markets and Radio Shack(now "The Source" here in Canada)just before they became discontinued. They worked fine enough for me, but once they get a certain age, they are totally CRAP and useless, and they all seem to last about he same amount of game play hrs.But I use the coax adapter now, and the coax is a lot more versatile of course.I'm using the coax adapter now to preserve the TV/Game switch boxes since you can't buy them anymore in stores, can still find them on Ebay IIRC.A little silly i know, but i treat the TV/Game switch boxes like a collectors item.I have several "RadioShack" boxes which are exactly like the boxes made from metal, but made in plastic, still in package.
  11. I thought about it and came to realize all Atari consoles are pretty reliable. The same maybe can't be said of the controllers and other accessories of course.I have never found, or even owned a non working Atari console: 2600,(all models) 400/800, 7800, all of these, that i have found worked perfect.Pretty damn impressive for 30+ year old electronics.I think most stuff built 30 years ago is more reliable than the cheap ass crap that's out there TODAY.Some Atari consoles may outlast other models, but as a whole, they're all built solid.
  12. I had no idea Dennis Koble was "hip" to today's music styles. He's what? in his late 50's, early 60's, pretty cool!!
  13. I picked the 4 switch woody because that's the one i always use.I'd have to play each model all at the same length of time like crazy and analyze the results, but that would take too long.Something Myth Busters can do!
  14. In all the years collecting since 1981, 2600,Intv, CV, 400/800, 7800 game cartridges, i have only come across 1 dead game cartridge, i've been lucky. But there ARE dead games, it happens. It seems strange guys at gaming expos would knowingly pass off dead games, that's pretty foolish of them to do so, just to be confronted next time by angry customers. You'd figure they test and clean them BEFORE selling, geez! That kind of crap ruins gaming expos reputation, if there ever was a good one to begin with, i dunno, i've never been to one.But then again, there's shysters everywhere.
  15. Makes sense, some buy games and forget to test them or never bother, i've done that a couple of times in the past.I bought a couple of games a while back, threw them on the shelf and only come back to play them like a year later, luckily though, all have worked. That's a bad habit on my part, i know.

Are you talking about 2600 Mr.Do's!Castle that has shit graphics, or the Colecovision one?

I figure $25-29 is what Colecovision Mr.Do's! Castle goes for LOOSE, versus the $49.I'd pay $49 if it was boxed, but not loose.Gas Hog is way too much for me regardless.

I know what you mean.Common games here have never sold for less than $5.00.There are still those sellers that think all classic gaming stuff is worth a fortune no matter what. One Flea Market vendor was asking $10.00 for all 2600 commons!!!!!.He told me in his broken Italian accent "very rare, Atari game, $10.00, all rare, 30 years old games". He thinks just because most games are like 30+ years old, they're all worth a fortune. Did he look like this? LOL!!That is hilarious! It never occurred to me till you mentioned it.And i swear to god, he DOES look like Mario. He even wears the same kind of hat.

I don't have a problem with dealers selling gems for a lot of money to what they're worth either. What i was trying to say is some folks get what an item is worth and what it sold for on Ebay confused, two totally different things.A reputable dealer won't do that, but not all are reputable.Ebay has made things more expensive, no matter what guides there may be.Dealers and thrift shops are starting to catch on to what this stuff is worth, which is more than what they previously thought, and Ebay is the major reason for that AFAIC.Is this justified, sure, sellers should get good money for super rare games, but within reason.I think several good guides should be referred to, and the final price should be negotiated between the buyer and seller, a price they agree on as to what the game is worth. If i disagree, i just move on, simple.I had one flea market vendor try and tell me this one item(PC GAME) was worth $100.00.I had to tell him NO, this item was something 2 buyers had a bidding war on and both wanted badly, thus trying to outbid each other which inflated the TRUE worth to an insane price. The item was only worth a third of what he wanted, but insisted that's what it sold for on....EBAY This same vendor has a PC with internet access right in his stall, and has ebay ready for price checking, you want to buy something off he goes to check on ebay.

So, i walk into my local gaming store last weekend to find the usual games I can afford, $5-10.I found both loose, mint label Spectravision Gas Hog for 2600 for $79.50, and ColecoVision Mr.Do's! Castle for $49.00. Are these overpriced?, i think they both are.Man if this was like just 2 years earlier i might have bought them both, but now?, no way.Anyone else here have had to pull back because of high inflation/bad economy?, yeah it sucks big time!!!I said 2 years earlier because back then the store owner didn't check on Ebay for pricing guide dammit, and would've let them go for A LOT LESS, half that amount or would take ANY reasonable offer, but he has jumped on the Ebay band wagon and will not budge on ANY Ebay researched price

    Double post

    Double post, sorry
  23. Congratulations!!!, looks like I'll have to start stopping at garage sales cuz there's been f%#k all at thrift stores and Flea Markets for me for the past 2 years, and i live in a large highly populated city. It's gotten TOO expensive also.Thrift stores and flea markets have all jumped on the Ebay band wagon.I wouldn't be surprised one bit if garage sale vendors give the ole "Well it goes for(insert insane amount here)on Ebay", song and dance also. I hope this isn't the case.
  24. It's not "damn game cartridges" those are only a small subset of what's buried there. Honestly it's a non-issue, there's nothing to be proved about a landfill being there. This was one of (emphasis on one of) the dump sites they had around the country and it was a couple different lines of cartridges, unsold computer and peripheral inventory, and other related products. The dump was not 5 million copies of E.T., that's the myth. Likewise as far as digging - it's a landfill that had everything crushed (steamrolled) and then concrete poured over as a cap. Then dirt on top of that and now a parking lot. Besides getting permission to break through that parking lot, you're talking about equipment for digging down at least 15-20 feet, breaking through a concrete cap, and then extracting the crushed muck of what's left down there. Then resealing the cap, putting the dirt pack, and fixing the parking lot. How is the expense justified for that just to verify something we already know (there's a landfill of Atari products there) and verify that the myth attached to it (it's a landfill of 5 million E.T. carts) is still just that - a myth? I get what you're saying and I agree. It's the naysayers that don't believe, some have to make a conspiracy out of EVERYTHING, and demand PROOF.I should of explained better, I MEANT, let the naysayers get together at THEIR expense and prove it among themselves if they want.Me myself I have more important things to worry about, but if others would want to do this, fine, it's their choice to do so, and I'm totally okay with that.Another thing, is it necessary to go to all that trouble to bury waste if it is not toxic or Hazardous to humans and the environment?, I'm not a waste expert so i don't know myself.Unless the "Atari" waste was buried together with other waste that IS toxic and hazardous, then why go through all the trouble with concrete, were they hiding something else. That something else doesn't necessarily mean Atari was up to anything clandestine, just doesn't make sense why they would pay for such an elaborate, (expensive i might add) burial for waste that they lost millions on in the 1st place.
  25. One thing I remember, back in the day, all the jocks in High School had an Intellivision, for the sports games of course. All the nerds had a 2600, and all the snobby kids had a ColecoVision.Anyway, I sure do wish Intellivision had a bigger Home-Brew scene.
