  1. Sure. M = Magic Resistance Increase (for spell hits) Kg = Kilograms (it was shorter than Lbs.) D = Defense Increase to Armor Class. (direct damage) AT = Attack Increase. Your ability to hit an enemy. Fire = Can hit creatures made of fire. Undead = Can hit the un-dead and/or do more damage to them. Iron = Can hit creatures made of Iron. INT = Increase in Intelligence. WGHT = Increase in carrying capacity. HP = Increase speed of Hit point recovery for items and recover HP for spells. 1d/3d-up = +1 Defense when shield is down, +3 when shield is up. Water = Can hit creatures made of water. DIR = Direct Damage spell, must be up close. Sec = duration of spell in seconds. Ea Hit = Each Hit. Spell continues to hit enemies as it moves through the tower. Min = Duration of spell in minutes. Air = Can hit creatures made of air. 0-4 = For weapons is your base attack + 0 to 4 additional damage. So Merton usually has a base of 1 while Gerand has a base of 4 or 5. so 1 to 5 damage for Metron and 5 to 9 damage for Gerand, unless they miss or just graze an enemy for 1/2 their base damage. Yes weapons and spells effect each creature differently. Some creatures also have higher Defenses (AC) or Magic resistances. Other have resistances to weapons and can only be damaged by certain types of weapons. Above is the list of all the abbreviations I remember that are next to weapons and spells. Some enemies will roll for fear and run if hit, some like the undead never run. We tried to get far more information visible to the player this time around. But there are still stats for each enemy that is hidden... Enemy Info below.
  2. I agree. I have 2 800s one unmodified and the other that has Incognito. I use the Incognito Atari far more often than the unmodified one.
  3. I agree about this should have a "functioning" keyboard. Just look at the old Timex Sinclair 1000 as inspiration! And a cartridge port like the 2600+ does. Even if its on the back. I started with a 400. But a few years ago I picked up 2 800s for my nostalgic needs. One unmodified and the other with Incognito.
  4. My first intro was to an Atari 2600 with the Adventure game at a friend's house, I was hooked. Pretty quickly I wanted to program on it and looked for the "attachment" to make it into a computer. My Aunt got me a in a programming class and I was introduced to the Atari 800 with Star Raiders, and was hooked again. We could not afford an 800 so my parents picked me up an Atari 400 plus a 410 cassette recorder around late 1982 and that is how my programming adventure began. Of course, I picked up Star Raiders too. The 8bit system was worlds apart from the 2600 for me. The big one was picking up Pac-Man -- which I was sorely disappointed on the 2600 -- was much closer to the arcade on my 400.
  5. @hutnutmen Below are the answers to your images. Glad you enjoyed the game.
  6. Welcome to the board. Have not played the game in many years, o I don't have any tips. But it looks like Gamespot had a text file with some info about the game, additional players and other stuff. Worth a read for sure. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/jaguar/586895-kasumi-ninja/faqs/57555
  7. Really great review of Towers II. Check their page out and get a copy to read the review of this game and the other Songbird games. Thanks Pixel Addict! https://www.pixel.addict.media/shop/current-issue-and-subscriptions/pixel-addict-magazine
  8. About those Water bastards. You made some tracks this weekend. Great job.
  9. Oh!!! 42 would have been epic! I had the amazing opportunity to meet Douglas Adams in 1998 at E3 in Atlanta. He was promoting the game "Starship Titanic" at the time.
  10. Wow. Nice work on the game, looks and sounds really good.
  11. You should only need 1mb of RAM for Towers I. Here is an excerpt from Towers I v1.5 text file. Towers requires a minimum of 864340 bytes of FREE memory left on your system to run in a one player mode. If you have 930360 bytes free, you can also access a two player mode via Null-Modem, Midi cables, and with a Hayes AT command set compatible, 14.4k Error Correction Modem or better, you can play over the phone. If you have a one megabyte Atari system, you can run the Two Player mode as well. Just make sure the the AUTO folder with TOW_STRT.PRG is on Towers Disk One and boot that disk, This should leave you with enough memory to play the two player mode.
  12. Towers I and Towers II were similar that they are both RPGs, but the stories, enemies, puzzles and maps differ greatly between the two.
  13. Of course I'm bias on this one, my young self was proud to get this game out on to Compute magazine back in March 1985. https://archive.org/details/1985-03-compute-magazine/page/n43/mode/1up Here is a link to the ATR file I posted a while back for those who do not wish to type it in.
  14. Pretty cool. Even after all these years, Ballblazer still challenges programming skills.
  15. I used In-Shape on an Atari Falcon. Had to get the floating point co-processor for it to work.
