  2. Asteroids Asteroids Deluxe Battlezone Missile Command Black Widow Pole Position 2 Marble Madness Tempest Centipede Paper Boy Firefox
  3. For Years I pronounced Sega as Seega , Jaleco as Jaleco instead of Haleco and Xevious as Exevious instead of Zevious.
  4. Just wondering could Afterburner Climax work in the Sega R360 Simulator ? Seems like a good way to reuse older Technology ? http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9217
  5. Rare enough I suppose They had a Crossbow in one of the best arcades in Dublin/Ireland for a few years. It was an interesting game.
  6. I came across Rescue once at a Train Station in England around 1984/85 Didn't even have time to play it couldn't even remember the name of it until I saw it working on MAME

  8. I remember they had a Galaga in the little arcade in my hometown in Ireland around 83 84 It was a cabaret cabinet very popular. By 1999 you would find it very hard to find classic video games anywhere. On a side note Galaga gets a mention in Brett Easton Ellis's novel Less Than Zero in the opening chapter.
  9. Well it pretty much looks like they're sticking with the Namco route.. so probably not. But who knows If they did a Williams Series I would have to have them.Ms Pacman and Galaga where an Aniversary Coin-op back in 2000. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8784
  10. So this is what Hallmark do each Christmas Release the next in an ornament series to get you roped in ? I see Winter with Snoopy is a series that has run for a number of years.Galaga minature for 18 bucks that is expensive but then Hallmark never was cheap even their Cards are expensive.

  12. Lets not forget Armor Attack http://www.klov.com/A/Armor_Attack.html
  13. There was a Cabaret Battlezone in the arcade in my hometown in Ireland. It looked fabulous in the little dark room in the Back of the arcade all lit up.The 50p slot on your unit would have been for 3 Plays. It would have been 2 x 10p a single play.
  14. I remember seeing this when I was a Defender nut back in the day and going Wow
  15. Only ever came across Exidy Victory just the once in an Arcade in Dublin Ireland near the River Quays around 1983/84. Never ever saw it again anywhere I must have tried it out but prob died quite quickly. It had a very unusual control system.I was a reasonably decent Defender player and even I couldn't get to grips with it.I'm guessing it was too hard and that's why it prob bombed itself into obscurity. The next time Victory popped up again was a few years ago when I bought a Colecovision from eBay.It was one of the games bundled with no instructions. It actually needs the Colecovision Steering Wheel and the Colecovision Joystick controller in Tandem to operate it.I never bothered to get the batteries for the Steering Wheel Unit so I have never tried it.Playing Victory on Mame is a bitch though. It's like a cross between Defender and Gravitar and not very user friendly but there is something about it that draws me back for another game.I don't even know if the game has seperate attack waves like Defender.Does anyone have any info on Victory ? http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10306
  16. That would have been a different game then wouldn't it because you would not have been able to shoot in one direction while moving in another direction using that prototype control system. With Spinner Thrust and fire your spider would have been gliding around the screen like Asteroids and Gravitar.
  17. 1 Defender/Defender Stargate/Strike Force 2 Robotron 2084 3 Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe/Space Fury 4 Berzerk/Frenzy 5 Space Invaders/Space Invaders Deluxe 6 Missile Command/SDI 7 Galaxian/Gorf/Galaga 8 Scramble/(Nemesis/Gradius)/(Salamander/Lifeforce) 9 Xevious/Terra Cresta 10 Centipede/Millipede
  18. I never knew about this. Was it common for Arcade operators to use these aftermarket overlays back in the day ?
  19. Robotron came out about 9 months earlier than Black Widow; Robotron about March and Widow about December of 1982. Never really played much Widow for some reason but I did pump some quarters into Robotron. I certainly admired its crazy action and neat sound effects. Thanks for those facts so Atari obviously noticed how cool Robotron 2084 was took a look at Gravitar(which wasn't bad) but maybe wasnt performing and came up with Black Widow.I love both games.
  20. I used to like playing Black Widow when I was a kid.I was curious as to which came out first in 1982 Atari's Black Widow or William's Robotron 2084 ? Both have a very similar Game Dynamic although obviously Robotron was a much more intense experience.Black Widow was maybe aimed at a younger gamer. Curious that Black Widow was never really ported to home computers and consoles but like Robotron this was probably due to the sophisticated control mechanism. The Black Widow Grenade Bug was something very different than any of the Robotron enemies.Perhaps the Grenade Bug inspired the exploding Shrapnel Man in Smash TV.The Bug Slayer was another cool enemy. It wouldn't kill you but would compete against you to pick up points from other destroyed bugs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...re=related
  21. The one I described as being Blue was sort of a violet purple but there was definitely a jet black one also
  22. I remember 2 different marquees on Gorf. One was blue and the other was black I thought it was cool at the time Anyone else remember this small detail Was there any other variations between these cabinets ?
  23. Are you sure that isn't discoluration of a brown label Looks a bit blotchy up close
  24. The reason the Sega Master System had a Card Input was to make it backward backward compatible with the earlier Sega SG1000 console card catcher card media and software. The Card catcher was an add on for the SG1000.In addition it also enabled Sega to provide an instant budget range of Software for the Sega Master System. The Sega Master System 2 did not have a Card input. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_SG-1000
