I have this for the OG PS4.. I don't normally play these kinds of games, and I originally returned my physical copy, but then re-bought the physical copy when they had it on sale for half off.. I just want to get to the driving part of the game to try that out, it's really all i'm interested in. Anyone know the easiest and quickest way to start driving? Right now i'm forgetting who I picked as my character, if that makes a difference..?

Thank you for that info though, I just realized the japanese versions of the pc engine games are on my everdrive. Will try them out tonight with the infinite continues (although i tend to put games down that make you start at the beginning of a level). My brain isn't wired for that crap, and i'm one of those people who doesn't believe in trying again after initial failure.

I do not like how difficult the shmups are on the pc engine. :( I do however LOVE LOVE LOVE when shmups have an infinite lives and continues option, like many of the newly released ones do. I suck at video games, and I will never "git gud", so I always have to play on the absolute easiest option available. The TG16 games don't really offer that. Recently picked up Sine Mora on PS4 and love that one and just recently got Darius Cosmic Revelations or whatever it's called and love that too. R Type Final 2 is on pre-order for April 30th, can't wait!!! Next to racing games, shmups are my second fav genre along with beat em ups. too many modern games feel like nothing more than interactive movies zzzzz.

I've accumulated Krikzz everydrives for TG16, Genesis, SNES, and N64. I have a weird feeling my SNES one is bootleg even though it has a Krikzz sticker on it. I did see some youtube video of a collector swearing that the knock offs are just as fine. I wouldn't trust a knock off in my TG16, but i'm using the genesis one in a hyperkin genesis clone (sold my original genesis) and don't care too much about the system.

I had to stop as it was making me feel bad about myself that gaming is such a low IQ hobby.

this is why i hate digital. I've had a few digital games on PS4 already go missing over the years. I collected physical for most of my ps4 collection, but in reality is there even a point? Almost all the physical games seem to have day one patches to fix stuff, or add stuff that was never on the disc.. So 10-20 years from now, if I hook up my PS4 and let's say I'm dirt poor and don't even have internet access, can I still play the games after installing from the disc even though they are unpatched versions?

Retro Games That Help With Anxiety

SHMUPS that have an easy (or VERY easy) option seem to work.. -
Dated (old, no one wants or cares) Retro (new, modern reflection on the past) Vintage (old, sought after but not necessarily popular then or now) Classic (old, popular then)

What's the worst version of your favorite game?
NeonSpaceBeagle replied to jgkspsx's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm a pretty big fan of the mario kart series, but lately I can't go back to some of them because I can't stand baby sounds. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me, and I find that Mario Kart Double Dash to be the worst offender (i think). I also hate how you can't turn off the noises characters makes in many nintendo games, and over the years their voices and baby sounds got increasingly more grating to my ears to the point of making them unplayable. Don't get me started on mario world 2 on snes, holy crap. -
Retro Games That Help With Anxiety
NeonSpaceBeagle replied to Nintendo64's topic in Classic Console Discussion
for me personally, any games that make you start from the beginning of a level after dying just cause agitation. I've found that the best anxiety reducing games are included in those classic arcade type compilations where you basically have unlimited continues and you can just float through the game without worry. but really it's mostly driving games that help me with anxiety, which is funny cuz im 44 and I never bothered to get my actual license L:0 -

Least satisfying power switches
NeonSpaceBeagle replied to bluejay's topic in Classic Console Discussion
just thought of one.. I have a Qumi pocket projector and the buttons disappear or something when the unit is turned off! It's horrible. -
Is this okay to ask here? What is the best way to go about actually playing this? I have an N64 everdrive, but I never set it up myself, I bought an SD card already formatted with everything on it. Can I just drop the file onto the SD cart is it's fine or do I have to do anything else?

Where to purchase Playstation 1 capacitor kits in the UK

do ps1 caps go bad? I mean I guess eventually all do, but is this common now? -
Least satisfying power switches

The open button on my PS1 needs to be caressed in order for it to lock. I mean like you can't just press it, you have to rub it ever so slightly with your finger and it eventually locks. Do you think it just might be funky inside? -
Least satisfying power switches

I think with the 3DS (for me anyway) the button is too tiny.. Am I thinking the right thing here? It just barely feels existent. Another thing about the 3DS (and i dont have this problem with any other handheld) is that every single time I go to play it (which honestly is maybe once every 6 months or so though) I have no idea where any of the buttons are.. power, 3d, volume, etc. I'm just really sour on that whole lineups design. I did like the DS Lite though. The 3DS XL is way too top heavy, and the new 3ds just feels crampy in my hands. -
The Official Playstation Thread

I dropped out of gaming right before the PS1 hit in 1995. The biggest regret of my entire life. Luckily I found my way home in the early 00's with Xbox and Gamecube.. I wish I had bought a PS2 at the time. I've been loving the PS1 for a long time now, and since now playing them on CRT's it's like reliving that magic all over again, kind of like being nostalgic for something I wasn't really part of. I would love to get my playstation modded.. Everytime I message someone on craigslist that claim to do mods I never hear anything back, and I doubt I could do it on my own. I do love my little collection though. Back in the early 2010's in my neighborhood in brooklyn people were tossing out PS1 (and many other games and systems) games left and right for the taking on their stoops. Every weekend I would just walk around the neighborhood and come home with free video gaming stuff. Unfortunately there's a ton more street scavengers like myself out now, and many of them are just in it for the slimey reselling game, but I'm a scavenging professional and can psychically feel free stuff ahead from around the corner! Yes, PS1 is great. -
