The Official Turbografx 16 Thread!
NeonSpaceBeagle replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Are there any examples in the pc engine library that use graphical confetti? I'm asking this because I have noticed over the years that confetti in video games always looks the same, seemingly regardless of generation. It especially looks bizarre on more current systems. The pieces of confetti are always the same colors too.. Does this ring true for anyone else or am i crazy? I'm talking literal confetti here, not a graphic trick with that name. It's especially pronounced in racing games. I tried googling this but google sucks so bad now and only seems to bring up etsy garbage these days. -
I fried THREE game gears using the wrong power supplies Is there anyway to salvage these?

thanks! I generally use the nintendo USB blocks for all my mini systems just because it's easier. I was using one that had Amazon printed on it, I think it was from a fire tablet I got a long time ago, but I may have been charging my phone with that. -

im sorry.. i had two different questions going on there. I meant the power block that comes with the snes mini.. ive been using that on the tg mini. -
innards aside, the shell is absolutely ugly as sin. It threw away the mid 90s curved aesthetic and went for a horribly anachronistic jagged and pointy shape for unknown reasons. I'd be embarrassed to have it on display and would have to cover it with a towel like I do with other unappealing consoles.

question.. I used to have a turbobooster but I wound up selling it (regret!). I've gotten back a TG16 console an everdrive, and over the summer picked up a nice little CRT. I had bought that little green composite output adapter from Hyperkin and it works but then I started reading how it could damage your system? Does anyone have an experience with this? I really love playing the tg on the crt, but I don't want to damage the system and i'd rather not use RF. Maybe one more question.. I've been using the SNES mini's power block, is this bad? Some people are saying yes and some no.. I havent had any issues and i've used the system quite a bit over the past year or so. I think I finally got my unit last May I think. -
Retro Games That Help With Anxiety
NeonSpaceBeagle replied to Nintendo64's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Racing games always help immensely for me.. I started out with kart racing / arcade style and now I'm going back and playing all the motorsports games from previous generations. Also I just recently acquired a nice crt and playing GameCube and ps2 is so nerve soothing for some reason. -

Very long time lurker posting for the first time.. I figure this is the best place to put this up. I have had zero luck on Craigslist. I've sold a big part of my collection in bits and pieces over the years and I've always gotten many replies of interest per sale, but I can't seem to unload the 5200. I have a boxed atari 5200 with 5 games. 4 in their original boxes, and Defender loose. The system comes with all the original manuals and parts. Includes two controllers. They worked when I first bought the system used from someone in around 2006 or so. The last time I set everything up I don't think the controllers were working right though. The system is in great condition and still has the pink film over the metallic part. I put it up for 40 bux for everything on CL and got no bites. I don't really want to do ebay or facebook. Any suggestions? I'm in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
