  1. I had an Atari ST 1040 STF given to me recently, and after getting RGB Scart cables from Ebay, I found that it is finicky with my RGB equipment, namely my two scalers. The only thing it displays on is my CRT TV through a SCART to Component transcoder, and the image has flutter, and the software I wrote to a disk runs but scrolls (no way to adjust vertical hold on my TV). I do have old VGA monitors, but I know that only displays in Monochrome. Aside from a CRT Display, a PVM/BVM which I can not locate due to me living out in the middle of nowhere, and a sc1224 Atari Monitor...what are my options to display RGB from this machine.

I do have an old Apple 12" RGB Display, the low res (512x384) version from the Macintosh LC which I have in storage. Could I use that?

  3. I have three NES Consoles I have personally repaired, cleaned, and fixed the 72 pin connector on (bent the pins up and boiled them). One didn't go too hot. I made it too tight so you have to leave the cart up to play. But all three of them start first try (one didn't power on when I got it...I think I did well). I also cleaned and repaired the controllers.

I also have a few more NES systems I may put up at a later date with socketed PPUs for an NES RGB mod.

I also have a copy of Mission: Impossible for N64. The cart has been cleaned, and the saves deleted.

  4. A person at work gave me an Atari 2600 lot they found in to see if it works, they intend to sell it. I would like to get an accurate price for the system and what it comes with. It all comes in a "Atari Game Center" which is all beat up.

Atari 2600 Jr. (no Switch box)

    1 Joystick

    1 Trackball, standard (needs cleaning)

    Casino

    Demons to Diamonds

    Night Driver

    Jungle Hunt

    Centipede

  5. Wait till you can find it for less than $1

on the same note, Ultima: Warriors of Destiny on NES is pretty bad too. They tried to do too much with the NES and the game is very slow as a result...and much of the story is cut too.

  6. I am shopping for a little module for the Wii, its an HDMI adapter which up-scales the Wiis 480p Signal into 1080p (not true HD, but looks nicer on an HDTV). Now the US Wii does not do RGB at all, but the PAL models do. Does anyone know if the PAL variations of these HDMI adapters upscale a RGB input or do they all just upscale the plain progressive image.

  7. I have a spare NES top loader (real NES, not a shitty full of poo-poo clone system that gave Wilford Brimley diabeetus), it works fine, but I want someone to play it. It cries out in the rain for someone to play some Zelda II on it.

I'll trade it for Retro gaming goodness

I am currently looking for a

    (Systems)

    Turbo Graphix 16 (w/ games)

    Master System (w/ games)

Famicom Disk System (working w/ games)

    Sega 32x

    (games)

    Atari 2600/7800

    NES

    SNES

    N64

    Gamecube

    Genesis

    Saturn

    Dreamcast

    Ps2

    ps3

    Xbox 360

    GBA

    PSP

I mostly like platformers, shooters (scrolling shooters, and some fps),fighters, and RPGs.

  8. Hey, I recently had to move into a smaller place and I had to get rid of my CRT tv and keep my HDTV. As you know, HDTVs typically do not handle analog signals too well due to the odd resolutions analog devices use that a digital TV doesn't like.

I am not looking to play my light gun games on my HDTV

I do not want to use emulation

I just want my NES and SNES to look...respectable on my HDTV till I can get a larger place where I can get a CRT again.

So..to sumarize, I am looking for an analog to Digital video upscaler that will not break the bank. I am using a VIZIO Eco HD set with Component, Composite, S-Video, VGA, and Two HDMI (fancy). I know, garbage in, garbage out. But I want my garbage to look better.

  9. If you have a cpy of gyromite, excitebike, or a few other 5 screw (flathead) games. Many have an adapter inside. An easy way to tell is the pins will be on the right side, however saved battery games also have the pins. So look for non save games w/5 screws and pins to the right.

There are videos on this. You simply sand down two of the corners and plug the games in them.

I have over 100 NES games, I have cleaned out the flea markets and local venues for classic games, especially NES...and not found one cart with a converter, many 5 screw, but no converter.

  10. Yea, I'll take either a Famicom console (core [no cords] system as long as it works), either model, and it doesn't have to look the prettiest, yellowed beyond belief and I'll still give it a good home.

or I'll take an adapter to play famicom carts on NES, again doesn't have to look the prettiest, just has to work.

Not looking to spend a whole lot, and I don't get paid till thursday. I will pay more for included games, of course.

  11. Yeah, take something in to test it. If they object, tell them they've lost a customer.

Or, since you already have an HD LCD set, why not get an SD set for classic games?

I was thinking that I could drag my PS3 into my gameroom and have my main TV used for movies and TV.
