So this was a real adventure for me but it appears to have worked. I swapped the daughter board after I had cleared the 2 spiders that were inside. This went quite smoothly for me considering I've never done anything like this before. Then when I was looking at the other one I saw that the controller lead was tucked under the power switch on the other one which seemed neater so I decided to do this on the one I was putting back together. Big mistake! Because I unscrewed this the power switch which made the switch stop clicking so I took it out and it came apart. Panic mode set in, I thought I had broken it so I was considering swapping it out for the other one but it is all connected to other bits. I thought it was game over but my amazing wife took over and managed to fix it for me. We plugged it in and voila! The colours are perfect now on the console that works but had the output problems. It's been a bit of a journey but finally I'm back playing my intellivision as I remember it. Let the good times role.

VID_20201204_140205.mp4 So I managed to pick up a other console as spares or repairs. It boots up and the output is correct as all the games have a nice brown background. The problem with this one is it won't play any games. I start astrosmash and after about 2 seconds the ship just explodes. I try to play golf and I choose 1 player and the it displays @ symbol and 0 0 00 on the bottom. So I hoping I can swap the output from one onto the other. Will this be possible and if so does anyone have any links. Or any other suggestions? Would swapping chips be an easier option to try first? Thanks.

So I have just tested it for a while with various games. One thing is when I switch it off and on sometimes I have to do it a couple of times and have to press the reset button a couple of times to get it to load the game. I have included a few screenshots including lockNchase to show how the level item is hard to see. Also banding on chess title screen.After 15 mins again on astrosmash the banding started again. I switched it off and on again and it was still there. I let it rest for a couple of minutes and it went away. Bottom video shows banding and then no banding after turning off for a couple of mins. I will do some timed testing later and let you know. Also my game title background screen is a dark muddy green but some people's PAL consoles seem to be brown? I have searched these forums and can see various reports of Brown and Green so I am slightly confused. When I play astrosmash the colours look like I remeber but I noticed on lockNChase last night that on the third level the bonus item ( tool box?) Is hardly visible.

Hi, I just purchased an intellivision after a 38 year hiatus. Anyway when I connect it to my tv it seems very blocky and the colours seem quite muddy. It gets very hot and after 20 mins a rolling smudge appears going downwards. Also the colours seem to glitch from time to time. Also on a couple of occasions it seems to flick on and off like when you switch it off. But it doesn't reset back to game screen so I know it's not a power problem as the display goes off for a split second- no signal on the tv - but then comes back on to the current game. The person I bought it off said they tried it for an hour and it worked it hadn't been used for a while previous. This is a PAL version so I do not have a ch3/4 switch on the bottom which is what someone suggested switching. Please see my screenshots and video. Any help appreciated. I have included a pic of the lead I am.using that goes direct into the tv. This is the same lead the seller used to test it.
