Regarding killing the used games market...
raskar42 replied to Cybergoth's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I wonder how eliminating the used car market would affect car sales. -
Just picked up 8 Hyperscan X-men booster packs. Now what?

Hah that's great. Speaking of old tv's, I remember on ours it had some major brightness control to the point where you could make the background 100% BLACK in games like Space War and thus get rid of the stupid green background. I would then jack up the color and the ships, shot and 'sun' would literally be flourescent againsts the black. Shots would start to have tracers too. It was great Can't seem to do that on today's tv's though. The brightness just seems to lower the the glare of the entire screen.. including the ships. And you can never even really get the background pitch black I remember doing this on our old Zenith back in the early '80s. I'd change the color on Pac Man and make the playing field this awesome purplish color. Pac Man himself would turn a funky orange color. On my old tel star that I had, I'd pump the brightness up and turn the contrast down so much that the puck or ball (whatever you want to call it) and the paddles would be so white that I'm sure it would have burned the screen if I left it on too long. my dad used to get so pissed when i messed with the tv colors. he'd be on his knees in front of the tv fiddling and cursing trying to get jim rockford to look like a human being again.

Thanks for the answers. My in-laws recently bought an xbox 360. They use it to play some kinect dancing game and watch netflix. I've never owned either version of the xbox, so naturally they come to me with all their questions.

Hey - Sorry to zombie bump, but am i right in reading that you need xbox live gold to watch netflix on the 360? so you would basically have to pay twice for netflix?

I usually use the USPS site to create/print shipping labels. It won't let you purchase is the address is bad and postage is nominally cheaper. However i think you can only do priority with it.
-
that's weird. unless there is something incorrect about the postal code or address, the post office should deliver regardless of what the name is. Maybe golden.ax could verify the address for you - if you're worried about maintaining your anonymity. - although if he reads this thread it might be a clue..

Just got a cheap Vsmile for the kids - now need carts.
-
Anybody got any v-smile carts they want to get rid of? I got a system for cheap and i'm looking for carts for it. Anything a little girl would like would be cool. Also an AC adapter. If you would rather trade- i've got a few tradables - I'll get a trade list going later today. Edit: sorry about the trade delay - someone decided to use the living room as a gymnasium and when i got home there was crying and band aids. I'll get some pics up tonight.
