not an auction, but in my younger, naive-er days i paid for a red dreamcast from a seller on Sell.com. i'd made several other purchases there - mostly oop dvds with no problems. never saw the dreamcast or my money. live and learn.

Is it too early to sign up for Secret Santa 2012?

I got mine on Friday. 4 loose carts for my collection: Game Gear Chuck Rock: Played and enjoyed the GB version - This should be fun. Game Gear Pac-Attack: This is my 2nd copy of this game - which means it's time to buy a gear-to-gear cable. Snes Pilotwings: One of those games I always wanted but never got. Looking forward to playing this one. Snes Gods: This one i never heard of, it seems kind of obscure, so pretty excited about spending some time with it. Overall a great bunch of games - Thank you Secret Santa.

The SNES games i actually own/owned: Favorites: Mr. Do Bomberman 2 i love multiplayer and both of these offer great fun. Least Favorite: Ultraman Even after reading the instructions i had no idea what was going on.

As I don't have his e-mail address, I contacted skr. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have the time to care about this issue, as he currently is in Birmingham. Birminghamwill do that to anyone. it's where people go to stop caring. This is a very strange situation, surely there must be some way to get in contact with the party who accepted the package.if you know his name and address, you should be able to find a phone number for him. Was the package shipped with any kind of tracking or confirmation? did the the guy who accepted the package not give you any contact information? that's odd. I know if i was holding a package for a friend, or a friend of a friend, i would feel responsible for it until it was delivered to the proper owner. The few times i did proxy bidding for other AAers, i tried to make sure they knew where their stuff was at all times. it's just courtesy.

I own downland and it's a lot of fun. it would be a good fit for 7800. also, i recommend you get yourself a tandy deluxe joystick. you can set it to self center. it makes a world of difference.

An onboard SD card slot would add significantly to the unit cost also. Kind of premature to talk about cost. Curt's objection in the thread was that it would compete with Harmony and not that it would make it cost more, so I was going off that. Besides, you'd still have to buy some kind of 7800 flash cart which won't be free. I'd rather pay for it in the unit. There a homebrew focus to this thing after all. SD would be the easiest way to 'test' on a working system. Anyway - just keeping the thread warm Wongojack : Thread Warmer! but yes the sd thing was was addressed by curt who said he didn't want to compete with harmony. but if harmony dosen't do 7800 it's not really competition. also competition is good for a free economy I[h]MO

i like the sd card idea. i just do - sd cards have been around for awhile - there readily available, cheap, tested and you just need a small one to hold the entire 2600/7800 library. they're very universal, almost all new laptops are made with an sd port and I think they will be in use for a long time. also, if were we scared of obsolescence - we wouldn't be on atariage. imo
