  1. I was interested in getting a vintage computer for my kid.something with basic and other stuff he can play with. probably buy a refurbish from best or somewhere.

I don't know much about the atari computers -(i had a trs-80). What model would you recommend for a beginner? or should i look at something else.

was also considering an XE game system.

  2. I'm going to write in vote:

    x Don't sweat the $9.

You bought a 16 year old used product and you don't really know for sure if it's the game or your system. The chances the seller was trying to rip anyone off taking $5 for a complete in the box 32x game are extremely slim.

    seconded.

the hardware was not made to last forever. it's part of the risk of being a collector.

  3. I found my game gear collection in my parents attic.

    I was happy.

I turned it on to play and only got vertical lines and no sound.

    I was sad.

after research i found the capacitors in the Sega Game gear are prone to failure. I would buy another game gear off ebay, but i'd prefer to spend a little more on a good repair or a refurbished game gear.

I could try to do the repair myself, but i can't be sure it's a capacitor issue and the only place I've found that sells replacement screens are in UK.(i'm in usa- L.A. , CA)

    anyone have any ideas?

  4. Huh - Wanga.tv is still an empty site with no info

The GamePort project has merged with Wanga!

The GamePort has just gained much more power!

Please come back to Wanga.tv very soon.

Development kits are going to be available shortly. Due to the limited initial number of kits, we will handle priorities based on the the planned usage. A form will be available in the next couple of weeks to determine order in the queue.

The GamePort project was bringing back to life all the 8bits; it's new incarnation, Wanga, can now handle all the 16 and 16/32 bit computers as well and much more.

We are currently looking for a few specific skills as well as the development structure is very different now. We are looking for people in art, molding, a few forum moderators, and are after some other technical skills too).

All the needs will be posted soon.

We want to thank everyone that has followed the project. Major changes have happened in our lives and we are now ready to bring the product to the world!

-that's it, that's the whole thing. the big release we all waited for .

these guys fail at customer service
