Oh, I googled it -- I haven't had a chance to actually see the new VCS yet -- and you're totally right! I thought it was the game that simplified the 2600, but instead it seems Atari designed the VCS after the 2600.

My favorite Atari merchandise is actually a digital collectable outfit and 2600 in the game "Evergleam Hill" from the Apple AppStore.
