Fighting Legends for PS4 has been finally released after many delays, it comes with the Art of Fighting and Real Bout collections and KOF 97 Global Match.
The games has been available digitally for a long while and I think Limited Run Games released each collection individually so it's not exactly something new, but here they all comes together in a nice package!.
There are 2 editions, just the games and the one in the pictures with a cool big box, a music CD and a Data Book... which just kinds of give a brief description of all the characters... Aside of the box, I'm not exactly sure the extras are worth the extra cost over the normal edition.

Oh, Final Romance 2 is getting a Switch port!. I got the NGCD version, and i "love" how after the game manual goes over saving your game, keeping the gallery ,etc... there's a insert telling you something like that they forgot to implement the save function 😅... and yes, the insert is right, there is no save option in the game.

I think it must be Ghost Pilot for NeoGeo and Jyanshin Densetsu: Quest of Jongmaster for NeoGeo CD, played a bunch of both when i got them and then never again 😅... i have to go back to the mahjong game, i find fascinating that just like with Riding Hero, somehow they did an RPG out of that mahjong game!

I think the game looks quite nice already for an Amiga 500 game, but for the NeoGeo version I intend to improve a few months on the pixel art and add two more levels to make this a worthy release for the amazing hardware that is the NeoGeo. Those shit loads of colours needs to make it into this game, mates..
Wow, it looks and sounds awesome! I specially like the stage with the dinos and dragons... your game has that distinctive Amiga sound (that i love) and want to see how it sounds in NeoGeo!.

Let's see where this goes... for once the rocky and colorful history of SNK teach us they could be better managed... but at the same time, i like Japanese game companies doing their own thing the way they like and these new appointments might go in a whole different direction.

I definitely agree about getting new Neo Geo games. This system is just ridiculously stacked with quality titles. I love this game a lot, and I'm enjoying it a lot more using the real cartridge than I was when I was playing it on the Darksoft cart, but that's not just because I have a real copy of the game;it seems that the game itself actually behaves differently on the real cart and on the Darksoft cart for some reason. I have no idea what is causing this, but now that I know about it, I am extremely curious to learn more about it, so if anyone has any information about this, it would be appreciated. I will do my own research as well, but for now, I figure I might as well ask here.
So basically on the Darksoft cart, I run the game and the same exact thing happens every time: pick Terry, set my TOP, and then fight Hotaru, Dong Hwan, Marco, Hokutomaru, Freeman, Rock, Grant, and Kain. On my real cart, I might get this same order, but I have also seen
Jae Hoon, Hotaru, Hokutomaru, Griffon, Freeman, Rock, Grant, Kain
Jenet, Hotaru, Hokutomaru, Gatou, Kevin, Rock, Grant, Kain
and a few other variations. Obviously the final 3 are not going to change since they serve as Terry's bosses, but the others seem to change every time I play, even if I do something like get a game over and try again without pressing the reset button or cycling the power.
What's weird is that the Darksoft cart gives me the same exact thing every time without fail. Is there some sort of revision of the game that I'm not aware of? In the typical Darksoft pre-made ROM pack that everyone uses, there is a late MVS ROM and an early MVS/AES ROM along with a bootleg and I think there is a prototype in there as well. I'm definitely not complaining, though, as the variety makes the real cart a lot better than fighting the same people over and over again and literally never seeing half of the fighters at all.
No matter how i look at it, the new releases of Visco games are a positive thing, sure these are not from SNK (and it's not like if they were thinking of releasing new cadtridges, let alone third party ones!), but they are the next best thing, licensed Visco games... just a bit too expensive... but still way cheaper than the original releases nowadays (when there's actually a release!)
About Mark of the Wolves, i can't really give you an explanation, but i can tell you that in fighting games, often, the order in which you fight another fighters is preset instead of random, so each fighter has a few sets of adversaries and ideally these sets would be picked randomly (or who you pick as your first adversary if given the option) but it wouldn't surptise me that under the same conditions (same character, same options, etc), the first time you play you fight a set of characters, the second time another set of fighters, the third time a third set of characters and once you turn off the console, you go back to the first set, second set, etc. This might have something to do with what you are commenting... or it's just a different ROM (like maybe SNK changed something between the MVS and AES releases) or some wonky behaviour from the Darksoft cartridge! 😅

It's not related to SNK but i think it's good news, there can't be that many AES cartridges of those games out there of those games... then again, as much as i would like to get Breakers Revenge i can't see myself paying 400€ for it. I'm sure it's quite complex and expensive compared to other systems replicating cartridges but i think the price is a bit too hight...

OK, it might not be exactly perfect for some of the wacky button combinations needed for some super attacks or changing lanes in FF3 (then again, no controller is 😅), but i l love it... with that said there were 2 or 3 games (AOF 3 and KOF96 comes to my mind) in which i played with the NGCD stick because doing special attacks worked better with it for those games.

A favorite of mine!. When i got my NG CD i thought there would be a few racing games like Out Run for the NeoGeo (thanks to its sprites scallation capabilities) that i wasn't aware (it was a world with internet, but it wasn't that easy to get information)... it looked like i was a bit too optimistic 😅, but at least there was Riding Hero so i got it, not only it was a racing game but a RPG too (it's not like there are too many of these either)! 😚... sadly it's one of the few games that doesn't work properly in a PAL console making it pretty much unplayable 😥

There is a menu to handle the memory card (i don't remember the buttons you need to press, sorry 😣) or if you have a Unibios i think there's a specific option to do it... but i don't think you can copy files from one card to another. Sorry, i don't have my AES with me right now and i can't be more specific... BUT if you have modded your NeoGeo BIOS, you shouldn't use the built in menu in the NeoGeo, i have some idea in my head that using it could delete all the files or something similar 😅
As you mention i would say that in most cases, loading the data, replacing the card, losing the match (or getting killed, etc) and saving in the new card the very same data would do the trick... i'm sure there are some exceptions and certainly it isn't the quickest way but it should work.

Yes it's incredible all the things this company has been through first the collapse, then Aruze, Playmore, SNK Playmore then only pachislots and now back to videogames... after beign buyed by a Chinese company and now the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia 😅😅😅... it's incredible they are still around. Sometimes i wish Nintendo would buy them or something to give them some stability and can be focused in videogames.

The last few days have been pretty good for SNK fans taking in consideration the very low standards that we are used to 😅😅😅... SNK vs Capcom the Match of the Millenium for Switch (this is the best of all the SNK vs Capcom and vice versa if you ask me), a compilation of NGPC games for Switch, Chizuru in KOF XV, more ChamCham (this is always welcomed) and a release date for her, a unknown Guilty Gear character in Samurai Shodown and i guess a SNK character in the new Fighting Ex Layer for Switch (Terry i guess).

Aside of those you mentioned, I see a bunch of interesting games... Nemesis, a couple of Kunio kun games (those are always quite fun) and there's a Yuyuhakusho game (third in the first row)... i used to play a fighting game one that was pretty good but i'm not sure if it's the same one you got.

Maybe Real Bout 2 is the more balanced for competitive gameplay or something, but Iwould say that both Real Bout and Special wipe the floor with Real Bout 2... while a great game it's quite soulless compared with the other ones, some characters fare better than others but most of them lose some special moves (it also add new ones, but it loses way more than it gets), it's missing most of the winning poses... after the superb Real Bout Special I was expecting something quite different with RB2.
I think that the "Get in the ring!" sum it up pretty well, the game is so focused in the fighting that the characters lose most of their personality.

Great!. Maybe this one open the door to the 2 Capcom vs SNK games and SVC Chaos, but stilI, i think this is the better one of all the SNK vs Capcom games. A great fighting game but it also includes the interesting Olympic mode with some funny minigames.

It's looking good (it's missing the charm of the good old sprites, but those days are not coming back )... i guess it's a bit more like the NeoGeo Pocket games than the arcades with a bit of metroidvania, maybe?
