1. I feel silly!!! I saw that link after I posted my original question. intresting device, they have fore FC there too. I'm concidering getting one, VCD playback would be nice, NOAC would be a requirement.
2. http://www.success-hk.com/pp/item_detail.a...E-4A38A46B5183# The menu has Samba the money from Samba de amigo for DC.
3. Like I said, it works for me. WHEE! You should run a Mac emulator in your Win98SE session. Then run a PS emu inside that. And an NES emu on top of that. Sure it'd run in frames per hour, but that's not the point. Emu stacking for real ultimate geek power! 951683 ...................nICE!!!! Been there before. Ran VPC over OSX, while running Amiga Forever, with PC task to play some old crappy DOS tetris clone!!! Just to see if I could, and I could. Luckily I have 2GB of RAM on the G5 or it would have been REALLY slow!
4. No the tool isn't able to create self running code.Overall it's more a developer tools than an easy to use picture converter. Of course you can take the "haunted" source as template you just have to replace the gfx binary and change the color palette. The only thing that I am wonder about is the size of the binary 96kb is far to big for a picture the normal size for an 160x4 converted picture is 16kb. 947703 Not quite sure of the size. I was actually trying to see if the 7800 could reproduce (crudely) a digital picture. So I took a digital photo of my dog, turned it to greyscale, reduced the colours and adjusted it to the resolution demanded. 7800 developers didn't really have the luxery of tools like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Paint Shop Pro back then so I was just curious how well such a beast would appear. 951171 Sounds intresting, do you have a picture? I'd love to see how it looks! Thanks!!
5. hehe Besides the women, the beaches, the weather the food, Neil Rogers, oh & we do have the WORLDS LARGEST arcade "grand prix race o rama" I think they are still open 24hrs, my case badges are right up in the mix. Notice I didnt mention the drugs, ooops, I just did Thank you! 951440 Let's not forget disgruntled Cubans, republicans, a f***ing Bush as gov, hurricanes (the storm NOT the drink!) and the fact your state is shaped like a well..... use your imagination! LOL!! I'm sure it's lovely! One more thing..... I live in TEXAS, and it's shaped like a great big fat TEXAS!!!
6. too be honest I recently put up atari pc stickers and my listing says atari computer badges 2600 5200 7800 xl xe yeah yeah I listed it that way but I did not list my items like this guy using multiple brands & besides my case badges could be placed on any of those atari items and would look cool my item & I dont give a crap about whiners 951172 Nice looking case badges! Looks like something good CAN come from Florida!!!!
7. Personally I saw the ad for the watch some time ago, and figured out by reading the text, looking at the watch and using common sence that it's NOT playable. Watching a game of Asteroids (vector NOT any home version, sorry 7800 Asteroids!), is a work of art! Seeing the triangular ship move, and shoot at the finely detailed wireframe rocks and UFOs is a thing of beauty. It was gorgous in 1978 (IIRC!) and it looks just as good now :!: :!: :!: I get it, sorry others didn't. BTW, I ordered one last week.
8. Hmmmmm....... How would I enable the win95 compatibility layer? that's a bit beyond my skill?? 950323 On Win2k immediatly after the feature was introduced, there was a tab labelled "compatibility" on any program shortcut you created. You just went there, hit the checkbox, and selected the OS you wanted to emulate from the dropbox. Then they disabled the feature by default, requiring some arcane command line statement be typed in to enable it, after which it behaved like before. Dunno how XP handles it. I would THINK it was enabled by default. So just create a shortcut to the installer, right-click it, and hit properties. If you see a compatability tab, you're in business. Pick 95 or 98 and go wild. 950644 Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a shot! BTW, I've tried running T2K for PC on Virtual PC on my mac. On my 1.2Ghz G4, it runs ok. On my G5 dual 1.6, it runs really fast and then crashes. I've got win98se running on the emulators. I've been looking for the Mac version since it was suggested above, and cannot even find mention of it! I would gladly install classic (OS9.2.2) just to run it - if I could find it! Does anyone here have it?????
9. WHERE did you find that?????? I collect multi-carts too, and I've got 5,10,25 and 50 in one GB ones, I've not seen a 286 in one cart.!?!?!
10. Hmmmmm....... How would I enable the win95 compatibility layer? that's a bit beyond my skill??
11. The game is a number version of Mastermind and uses the keyboards. A guy here just programmed a color version of Mastermind for the 2600. Standard Mastermind uses 6 colors in four places. To play this version of Codebreaker press select until four 6s are displayed. Those of us who love Mastermind do not think that Codebreaker is crap. Give it a try! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA (I programmed a number version of Codebreaker for my palmtop!) 943368 ok! It's just that it's not my cup of tea, so to say. Therefore it's crap! Just kidding, it's just a lot of the 1st. generation 2600 games with crap graphics, homerun, basic, golf, etc.... HURT MY EYES!!! I like my games fun, addictive, and pretty!!!
12. I have the CD for Tempest 2000 for PC. I'm more of a Mac man that a winderz guy. I have ONE winclone at home just for the sole purpose of filling my Hi-MD player (http://www.minidosc.org for more info!) Should I try a straight installation, or are there any special conciderations when running a game that old? My specs are: Win2OOO pro PIII 400Mhz 128MB RAM 230 GB HDD Thanks guys! I ran it in the day on an old win95 box and the game was fun, but not as good as the Jag version!!
13. In all fairness, look at how long it took for 2600 & 5200 boards to come out!!! At least EVERYBODY knows that there's a demand for them now. I would buy Frogger, Q*Bert, and see what other homebrews come afterwords. I already have homebrews for 2600, Vectrex, Coleco and Odyssey 2. My 7800 is now the focus of my attention. I want some homebrews!!!!!!!!!
14. The VIC-20 version is admirable! But the C64 version just rocks.....
15. Here's ALL you have to do: Mine does the same thing from time to time. The CVMC's are the most sensitive carts. EVER made. Just clean the contacts like your life depends on it! Concider contacting doubledown for a cart port refurbing! When I got my MC, I (really!) unsoldered my cart port and put in a brand new edge connector and it made all of the difference in the world. I got my CV from a thrift shop and it was 'a little' rough!! Now it's perfect. .
16. Intresting...... It's not that DK is on the wrong side, it's that the arcade (and C-64, VIC-20, 2600) had six levels of girders whereas the A8B and most other home versions had only 5 levels due to lower screen resolution. Look at the 7800 version's screenshots vurses the 800's and you'll see what a difference a few lines of resolution make!! Of course they cheated on the VIC-20 and 2600 version by putting no incline on the bottom girder!!! Oh, and the Ocean C-64 version is screwy, the ai FEELS wrong, and it just plays bad, in my humble opinion! BUT my girlfriend LOVES it, so go figure! Here look at the girders!
17. Are you a member at Neo-Geo.com? It's always fun to run across members from other sites. I'm a big Neo-Geo MVS fan, have a 2 slot big red in the house. Metal Slug rocks, those are the best 2d shooters out there IMO. 946970 Oh yes.............. I frequented the forums there a while back and I got flamed for actually PLAYING my english Metal Slug (1) It's a GAME!! I bought it to play it because I like MS! I was in a game shop here in houston , and they had a few J copies and one in English. So I bought it. It shows the signs of use that is perfectly normal for a played game!! I love my AES, but those guys are just WAY to anal!!! I do occasionaly buy a game from www.neostore.com BTW!!!
18. Sheesh............ This guy lost the modem, and is trying to put a 'spin' on it by saying that it's ready for the broadband adapter (which EVERY Dreamcast is!) As for the TGX 16, YES it IS CD-ready, as is the Sega Saturn VCD ready too!!
19. There's a couple of different issues at play. In 1986. the Tramiels literally threw the 7800 to market with games that were finished in 1984. They cinced on everything right down to cheap black and white labels. They wanted to make a fast buck, even though the games weren't modern anymore. In 1987 and 1988, they had run out of games and decided to be as cheap as possible continuing support by either finishing off old games that were started in 1984 or quickly porting games from other systems that were cheap to license and program. At the same time, they pushed the XE over the 7800, hoping to make it the flagship and sell lots of computer games and peripherals as a result. The XE tanked and the 7800 actually sold better, despite Atari's neglect. By the time they realized the XEGS was dying and they needed to be more competitive on the 7800, it was late 1988, and most of the NES style games weren't ready until late 1989 and 1990. The problem? In 1989, the Genesis and Turbografx came out and largely pushed the 7800 and Master System off of limited shelf space. The most "NES like games" never saw wide release. 942933 THANK YOU!!!! That's about the best summerazation of the 7800/XE/NES story I've heard! You hit the nail on the head. Da*n Tramiels.
20. See that's the attitude!!!!! I would LOVE to see a dev tool for just such a purpose! Imagine that a GB emulator on 7800, they're not THAT far apart...... As for porting the actual game, I played it in the day, I swore off the series during FF VII, it could (with a great programmer at the helm)be a straight forward port. I mean really, which sounds better GB sound or 7800 TIA sound????
21. For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents: IKARI warriors 2 (not 3 as it sucks!) Metal Slug Super Mario Bros.(We have the non super already and HEY a guy can dream!) More Bally Midway conversions, like Blueprint, Gorf, Omega Race, Kickman, etc.. Gauntlet 1,2,3 Or better............. Get the guyz that wrote Midnight Mutants to make a 'biggest 7800 game EVER' FF type RPG with battery backup save. OK! Back to reality (reaches over and un-pauses Dig-Dug!)
22. EXACTLY!!!!! I was under the impression that most rare/HTF games were garbage shovelware anyway. Damn Atari for not dist. the few good later games. :!:
23. MaDDuck

Kill ET

. Sad, really - very sad. I played e.t. ONCE when I was a child (and e.t. was new). I didn't like it then, don't like it now. The version my brother had for his 400 was cool! Very pretty, nice token speach, and it just worked!!
24. Are you sure?????? 943869 What's there to be unsure about? The 2600 was never intended to be displayed on a 16:9 screen, and the only resolution it "supports" is 480i. No hi-def there. 943950 For the record picture structure, and aspect ratio are *NOT* connected!!! I've seen 4:3 progressive scan TV's and non progressive scan 16:9 ones.
25. Not a very long limb, I REALLY was kidding!!! Sometimes companies CAN predict the future, I'm going S-VHS from my C64 into a TV and it looks GREAT! But the odds of any HW developer having the forsight to include any way to un-interlace a picture in 1977, it just ain't happening!! You watch some POS like the bally astrocade just might!!!!!
