the question seems silly .. but I just made the MOD to an atari 5200 to have the composite AV video output and I have to convert the TV signal from NTSC to PAL .... I see that many games for sale, you can buy "rightly" in PAL or NTSC .. this, strangely, is "dual video system"?

hi everyone, I need information. I want to buy BEEF DROP for atari 7800. I use the PAL system in Italy. I read in the notes that it works on pal and ntsc. But do you select power-up mode or how does it work? you can help me? thanks

a) The number of cartridges that would need to be sold in order to fully compensate developers for their time and effort is always much higher than the number that actually sell. There aren't a million people out there looking to buy 7800 software these days; it's a very small audience.
b) Piracy.
reading your comment, I must say that a little bit is right. I hadn't thought about piracy, as I imagine that those who buy Atari, like me, love to have, see and touch the little houses ... in addition to all the "rest" .. maybe then it would be more correct to collect for those who decide to create a game..

I kindly reply .. some time ago I started a project on another platform, they asked me, I started and made it public for free.
So it's a simple request.
Why don't developers earn anything if they sell a game?

when will available to buy?

The 5200 and A8 versions already have a pretty darn good POKEY soundtrack; a 7800 version could add in firing sounds via TIA (much like COMMANDO uses both POKEY and TIA sounds), plus multi-colored sprites. I'd be all over a 7800 version.
exactly... who could port? @ZeroPage Homebrew

100% Gyruss, especially if someone was able to compose an incredible version of the music using Pokey. Gyruss has one of my favourite soundtracks of any game.

yes, sure it could be a great version .. hopefully!

Gyruss, Tapper, and Moon Patrol were decent enough on 2600, and games like 1943 are not my favorites, so I voted Pooyan.
thank you... i m tried to put in list most famous arcade (and simple in graphic... to have possibility to someone can port them)

:)))) seriously if they made gyruss for atari 5200 .. it's just a matter of finding who has the time / passion / or produces the cartridge for sale

I see that there are guys who are very good at programming .. this is the reason for my topic ... as an atari fan (I own all A2600, A5200, A7800) I would like to see some famous ports that are missing ..
for Atari 5200 Gyruss came out and it's really good .. I don't know if you know the cartridge version ..

I have a Dragonfly, it works with original releases, including those that use POKEY. It works with homebrew, including those that use POKEY and Yamaha sound chips. This is all well documented in this thread if you read back a little.
There is no need for a list of games where you can't hear the sound, as there aren't any as of now. No one has reported such issues.
Hope this helps.
so, do you recommend buying the cartridge with the POKEY?
-
the project is suberbo. In order to avoid problems even for those who sell ... to put a games list WHERE WITHOUT THE ADDITIONAL CHIP YOU CANNOT HEAR THE SOUND.
the cartridge is fantastic, but it could be of little use if then maybe a favorite game, it can be without sound. Also how do homebrews work?
maybe it's easier to upload a 10 minute video to youtube with a demo of the latest release cartridge

Got my Dragonfly today. Serial number "006", equipped with a Pokey Max and a YM2151. Did some quick tests to ensure that everything is working - it is.
Ballblazer is working like the original cartridge (the latter carries an additional Pokey chip). The YM2151 demos are very nice, never thought that this would be possible on the 7800.
Dragonfly's shell is a 3D printed one. Nothing special here, but it feels very solid, fits perfectly in 7800's slot and nothing wobbles nor shakes.
It's menu is simple and easy to understand...would be nice if could display long filenames. Maybe in a later firmware update.
So I'm very happy with this module. The only thing is that only hell knows, and this the only Con so far, why this nice Dragonfly sticker is glued at the backside of the module
is it possible to order it?

You should have gotten a payment confirmation, but if you want to know your place in line, send me a PM.
I initially thought I would have time to email everyone individually letting them know their place in line, but my time is probably better spent actually making carts!
ok i send now you a MP
