I got the manual now... case closed! :-)

Hello everybody,
does anybody have a scan of the instructions manual for the Atari XL/XE computer game "Ted Bear's Rainy Day Games" (1987, Baudville)?
http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-rainy-day-games_4279.html
Thanks and best regards,

I just remembered this old forum post here, when I saw this video of a C64-Polybius:

Heya Simon... any chance we'll ever see the fabled seventh game in the series to round things out?

Hi Mat,
well, there are plans and first developments for two different games, but right now there is a lack of sparetime...
I hope to find the time (and motivation) for taking up such a development project soon again.
BTW: at the moment I'm still focussing on the rescue of lost C64 games...

>> Any word on the NTSC rom for this game?
Sorry for the late answer (I haven't been around here for quite some time).
I didn't create an NTSC version of this game so far... and I'm not quite sure if I'll ever have the time and motivation to do so.
Please play this game on a PAL-machine/TV or in your favorite emulator instead.
Game on!

I will be there on saturday and I look forward to this event as I have not been able to visit eurocon for some years...

Thanks for sharing the photos, Mat!
It's good to see all you guys once again...

Hi,
thanks for sharing some photos of this event. Good to see most of the usual faces being in Hamburg and having much fun there...
I really hope to be able to spent a weekend at Eurocon next year again (after missing the last three conventions now)...

Nice game! Good work!
Is it possible that there is a bug left in the game?
I went to the room with the second gun and shot the aliens in that room. One alien dropped a shield. So the room contained the gun upgrade and the shield. I collected the shield first and... lost a life and was returned to a room before.
Best regards,
Simon

Hello,
I added a small page to my website where you can play an online version of KITE! directly in your browser window (using the emulator JStella).
You can either access it through the website of KITE! or call it directly here.
Have fun!

Thanks for the pictures, Iwan.

Thanks to Ingo for the great meeting.

Have a nice day!

Hint 3:
It will take a little bit of practice on Hard mode to get it just right and unlock the final mode. You don't have to be perfect, but you have to be pretty good.
Please tell me the exact goal to strive for to reach the sixth game mode.
I already thought that I have been pretty fast in HARD mode. Is it less than 7:30 or even less than 7 minutes?
Thanks in advance. You can also PM me the exact way...
#86 finally arrived here, time to try it out

Didn't you order a PAL copy? I think that #51 to #60 were PAL. Only 10 copies... whoa!

All the best for 2010!

I received my copy #57 just in time for christmas and am really happy to have one of the ten limited PAL copies.
I played it some times and my leveltimes were:
Easy 1:07
Cool 2:14
Med. 3:27
Snow 5:20
Hard 7:44 (A) and 7:38 (B)
How to reach the sixth gamemode? EASY unlocks COOL, MEDIUM unlocks SNOW, but HARD didn't unlock anything (in both, novice and expert settings). Please let me know what to do to access the sixth gamemode... thanks!
Have a good start into 2010!

Hello,
I updated my website http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ki.html to show the list of owners.
Also available from that site is the free download of the gamefile now.

Hello,
I'm not able to attend EUROCON this year due to too much work and a lack of spare time...

I wish you a great convention and much fun.
Viel Spaß im Lande von Wiener Schnitzel, Fiaker, Schalgobers, Kukuruz, etc.

Best regards,
Simon

Looks interesting.
The hardest part is always to decide when the project is finished.
There are always more possibilities and possible optimizations...

Good luck on finishing this title!

Hello,
right now all 35 copies of the limited edition of KITE! are reserved. As some people might fail to make their payments, I'll take some additional orders for backing these up. So future orders might still get a copy even if all games are reserved right now.
That was really fast. If I had imagined that huge interest in this game, then I would have created some more copies of the limited edition.
I based the amount of the limited edition of KITE! and I-PROJECT on the sales of RASTERFAHNDUNG and ENCAVED. I created 75 copies of each of these two years ago, and still have about 30 copies each available. Therefore I decided to create only half as much copies for my following games I-PROJECT and KITE!.
That's strange somehow, because RASTERFAHNDUNG and ENCAVED are even available as NTSC games, while I-PROJECT and KITE! are not. It must have been the concepts of the games which makes I-PROJECT and KITE! more interesting than RASTERFAHNDUNG and ENCAVED...
Thanks for your support,
Simon

Hello,
thanks for your nice words so far.
I already received 31 orders, which only leaves 4 copies available right now (and two of them are already in question).
I would certainly entertain the idea of purchasing an NTSC version...
Sure, I know that a lot of people are interested in an NTSC version, too.
At the moment I'm concentrating on developing another new game instead of converting KITE! to NTSC.
If I'll find the time and motivation I might start converting KITE! (and maybe even I-PROJECT) to NTSC, too.
If not, will the final rom be available. I love crazy games like this where the concept is unique.
Sure. All of my games are available for free download at http://www.quernhorst.de/atari as soon as the limited editions are sold out.
You can play the files in your favorite emulator then.
Just a question here, isn't the top label on upside down or is it that way for advertising so we can better see what it looks like?
I always put my labels and endlabels this direction, because I prefer the shown direction when being plugged into the VCS.
BTW: Only the A left now?

Well, yes, I only plan for one more VCS game (which I already started working on). My VCS games were planned as a total of seven titles.
Actually, the last game has to start with an "E".

Thanks and have a nice day!

Gibt es in Europa einen Shop bei dem man Homebrew Module im Format PAL für das Atari 2600 oder 7800 kaufen kann?
UK wär auch OK

Hi,
just to let you know: the manufacturing of the Limited Edition (35 copies, PAL) of KITE! is making progress.
The covers and manuals are printed. The bonus items are purchased.
Albert is currently manufacturing the cartridges and labels.
I'll compile the sets as soon as I receive all the items. The availability of the game will be announced in this thread and on http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ki.html
Thanks,
Simon

I received about 40 copies since I came to know about the magazine and liked every issue.
It was a retro newsletter for a retro hobby. And I'm really going to miss it...
Hopefully somebody is going to start the "2600 reconnection" somewhen...

The same was thought of the Commodore 64 version, too.
However, the game was found and released for the C64 last month: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=199870
The picture shows Commodore and Atari versions being on the same disk.
