    New 2600 demo file

I started using PF and background but came to know that using one of them would be sufficient. And so I decided to use COLUBK only, as setting PF0/1/2/COLUPF would've meant use of more bytes - setting four registers instead of only one. The PC5-version of MK makes additional use of PF-pattern (board-matrix). Best regards, Simon
  2. Hi everybody, my girlfriend is currently on business trip in Rhode Island, USA and I would like her to bring some videogame stuff back for me. So far I only ordered the current issues of Tips&Tricks magazine. So please let me know: - Who knows about videogame stores in RI, USA? Classic/Used games prefered. - Which magazines/books are recommended and still available through book-stores? - Is the "EDGE" magazine published in USA aswell, or is it GB only? Thanks and best regards, Simon

    New 2600 demo file

Well, to be honest: rasterbars are one of the simplest to achieve effects, as they only effect one register. Moving rasters and especially moving rastersplits make the effect more beautiful. BTW: the playfield of "Mental Kombat" is completely drawn as rastersplits - meaning that the background color is changed eight times each scanline to show the tiles... Best regards, Simon

    New 2600 demo file

Hi, please find attached the current version of my Atari VCS demo. Some things were added and the fadings optimized. I plan to include some more effects, graphics and a music. I'd also like to create a raster-bars part like in oldschool c64 demos... The demo has to be finished until october as I've been enivited to a big arts event in austria - the final demo will be first-presented there. Please let me know what you think of the current file. Best regards, Simon
  6. The status (and a new demo-file) was posted here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53745 I hope to find the time to finish AC within the next few months, it's not too much work left (if I remember correct ). Bye, Simon

    New 2600 demo file

Yes, it's a PAL-demo: using the PAL-colors and 312 lines. My Z26 starts the file directly as PAL-cart (it's depending on the amount of lines) - no need to toggle TV-mode manually... Later, Simon
  8. Hello, after moving houses and settling down I restarted VCS-programming after some months again. My new game "A-VCS-tec Challenge" still needs some work, but I had this idea of a small demo-sequence and prefered coding it before finishing AC... Please find attached the binary of the demo - the routine can scroll the individual letters very flexible (stretching is possible aswell). I really like the result and hope that you enjoy it, too. 9. Hi, just to let you all know: the new special edition of Metal Warrior Trilogy is available now through http://www.quernhorst.de/atari - the game comes complete in box with soundtrack-CD, a pair of individual dog-tags and more... Best regards, Simon
  10. Hi, I got my copy of "Midnight Tiger" last week, as somebody told me that my game "Mental Kombat" was also reviewed in it. I can't believe that such a book really got printed, it is full of writing errors and I really wonder that a native-speaker uses such a bad style of the english language. Most annoying of all is his frequent use of "for". Does the publisher not employ readers to check out such writings? I'm really disappointed by the whole book, even if the rating of my own game was good. Leonard: please finish the work on your "ABC to the VCS" somewhen, so that we can soon forget about the Midnight Tiger... Best regards, Simon
  11. Oops - I forgot to post some in my last post as I intended to. The mentioned sites are worth having a look at, but unfortunately they don't contain much information or interesting news. Bis bald, Jungs! Simon
  12. As you're from Germany I assume that you just quoted these links from the MAN!AC magazine. All of these were reported on the very same side of issue 02/2004 if I remember correctly... Please pay credits to where they belong. Simon
  13. Hi, you can restore your site using this link http://web.archive.org/collections/web.html - search for http://www.videobrewery.com (or any other site) there and choose a date to be taken back to. I guess that this should help (and I wouldn't have to edit my texts myself again :-)). Best regards, Simon
  14. Hi, I finally managed to dedicate some more time to the development of A-VCS-tec Challenge. Some more bugs have been fixed and the switching between the two level types GAUNTLET and STAIRS works fine now. There is also sound-effect for the falling stones now and the amount of stones is randomized. The following things still have to be done: - bonus points for lives after each level - increasing difficulty on STAIRS levels - fine tuning of levels (lengths, colors, speed) There will be a preview cartridge at the AtariAge booth at PhillyClassic 5 - so check it out there and get an impression of the game. 15. That's great, Cassidy! I only saw them once and as I prefer their old tracks as the original complete team much more, I doubt that I will ever visit another show by DM or its solo-artists. I consider "101" as being their best concert ever and, even if I haven't been in Pasadena back then, I consider that concert as being one of the best concerts of all time and all bands! Unfortunately I don't like the 2-DVD-Set too much, as only 12 songs are recorded on disc 2 and the sequence of the tracks is not the original sequence from the concert. The double CD/LP from back then contained 20 songs. BTW: Did somebody recognize the two white dots in the photo on the back of the DVD-cover? They cover the DM-slogan "Music fXX tXX masses" at the marked points. I wonder why they're there - they look like being put there on purpose. Is that slogan copyrighted by another company maybe? All the best, Simon
  16. Hi, I bought the new 2-DVD-Set about the "101" concert by Depeche Mode yesterday. The concert was held 1988-06-18. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0000CEB...01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg The booklet of the DVD contains some more photos than the booklet from the 2-CD/LP set which was released back then. And page 6 of the booklet shows Fletch and right behind him a very big ATARI-logo. I personally like DM now even more. As I don't have got a scanner myself, I try to have the page scanned and show it to you. Simon
  17. Hi, I reached 4256 points now, but I still wasn't able to beat level 9. I'll concentrate on that level only now. Simon
  18. Hi, my STARFIRE-patch arrived yesterday and it looks great! Thanks to all people involved in creating this cool item! Best regards, Simon
  19. Hi, I'm back from my christmas holidays and unfortunately I've been too busy with other things, so I wasn't able to improve or even finish A-VCS-tec Challenge. It's not too much to be done anymore, but the other things are of more importance right now (did I tell that building a house consumes *MUCH* time?). I plan to continue coding on next friday's night. Hopefully nothing crosses this plan... :-) Thank you. I can promise that the music is really cool. Paul Slocum did a great job on the conversion (and improvement). There is also a second music in the VCS-version for the Game Over sequence. Best regards, Simon
  20. Hi, I'm looking forward to receive my patch (patch #13 with 3896 points). The patches look beautiful on the photos and I guess it'll look even cooler on my shelf. I don't think that reaching the 3500 mark was too hard, I normally score between 3600 and 3900 points now. I received the game 2003/12/30 and broke the score on 2003/12/31 in my fifth try. To be honest: I wonder that so few people claimed higher scores by now... I wasn't able to beat wave 9 or reach 4000 points by now, but I keep on trying. Great game, Manuel! And thanks for the point-table... Best regards, Simon
  21. The game plays on a standard Commodore 64 - no modifications, expansions etc. needed (but supported, if you have RAM-expansions, etc.). BTW: As it is MW4, this game had 3 predecessors. Simon
  22. The Special Edition of the brandnew Commodore 64 game "Metal Warrior 4 - Agents of Metal" is available now. You can find more information about the game and ordering at http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ Simon
  23. The Special Edition of the brandnew Commodore 64 game "Metal Warrior 4 - Agents of Metal" is available now. You can find more information about the game and ordering at http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ Simon
  24. Yes: "as soon as possible". I'm currently finishing the Special Edition for the new C=64 game "Metal Warrior 4". This game went ON SALE today - http://www.quernhorst.de/atari/ I try to finish "A-VCS-tec Challenge" in the upcoming christmas-holidays. I wanted to finish this project much earlier, but building a house really limits your spare-time, I can tell you... Simon
  25. Of course it will! A special edition of 55 copies (incl. Box, Soundtrack-CD, etc.) will be released at first. Afterwards an unlimited release (cart and manual) will be available... bjk7382 was talking about testing the ROM-file, which is not going to be released before I regard the game as finished. Simon
