  1. $694.27 in 2024 money!! According to Inflation calculator . Wow.
  2. Did you check the sellers other items? They're all dirty! 😂
  3. Yeah it's just the light. They are both the same color. And neither really have any yellowing at all so I would say the color is about original.
  4. Posting up my two 800's. On the left is the tag from my original 800 bought new in late 1982 of early 1983, It was a 48k machine bought with a 410 cassette drive. I want to say I paid $599.00 for the set and I think it came from Sam Goody as they were having a sale. The one on the right was bought from B&C Computer Visions as a referb in late 1988 or early 1989. I had read the article in the November 1988 issue of Antic magazine and wanted to do a 256k memory upgrade but didn't want to damage my original 800 so I bought this one to upgrade. The upgrade was successful I'm glad to say. Both machines have been upgraded to an incognito board, and 800 #2 also has a Sophia 2. 800 #1 is awaiting a Sophia 2 upgrade. I don't have these setup at the moment but hope to have an area fro a desk and a monitor in a few months. Also what do the hand written labels mean? is 11/20 and 4-18 the exact dates of manufacture? so 11/20/1982 and 4-18-1983?? Thanks AtariBob800
  5. Hello everyone, I just wanted to post my Atari 1200XL to the group. I found a text file on a floppy where I wrote a letter to order it. I got it in about 1988 or 1989 (letter didn't have a date) from San Jose Computer for $69.00 as a factory new unit. At the time I was into astronomy and wanted to run Atari Planetarium and needed a 64K machine as I only had an Atari 800. If I remember correctly the 800XL was more so I got the 1200XL. Don't we all wish we could get factory new 1200XL's for $69.00 now. Here's a pic and the serial. Looks like 17th week of 1983 so I guess it sat in a warehouse for 5 or 6 years until I came along. It's been in storage for about the last 20 years so its spent a lot of it's life sitting around. Oh and of course the keyboard doesn't work.
  6. I'll definitely get pics of the labels up in the next couple of days.
  7. Hello everyone, I've been a lurker on the forums on and off for many years, but I thought that you might like to see my twins. Two Atari 800's. One is my original system that I bought new in about 1981-1982 or so I believe and the other one is a referb I got from B&C some years later to add a memory upgrade to from an article in Analog magazine. (Dr. Brilliant 256k I think) Both have recently been upgraded with incognito boards, and one just got a Sophia 2 in the last week. (I've purchased a Sophia 2 for the other one but it will be a while before the install happens). The Sophia 2 DVI output is just beautiful!! After I did the install and turned it on for the first time, I just stood there staring at it in disbelief, I could believe this was my old 800!! I've also just recently gotten a Fujinet as you can see in the picture. I don't have anywhere to set these up yet, but hope to set up desk and monitor in the next few months. I've also got a 1200xl that I got from B&C in probably about 1989. It's been in storage for years and of course the keyboard no longer works as is par for the course with those. I can't believe all the new hardware for the 8-bits that is available, and I want to thank all the developers for keeping the Atari's alive and improving them. I've got a few peripherals also, a 1050 (motor doesn't spin when turned on), an xf551, a 1025, a 1020, a 410 (bought with the original 800), an SIO2SD, and I had an XDM-121 but I can't seem to find that and it may have been lost in a move. All the best to everyone and have a great day!! and remember Play those Atari's!!!! AtariBob800
  8. I bought one of those red adapters from Amazon about a month ago and it did not work with my new incognito either. Tried one of these CF cards that did work. But I think it was a lot cheaper then. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-CompactFlash-Card-SDCFB-512-A10-Type/dp/B00006B9QF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=512mb+compact+flash+card&qid=1613203871&sprefix=512mb+c&sr=8-3
