  1. Here's mine but going back to Amazon as stopped working.
  2. Oh that is nothing... wait until you are past that bit, you are in for total torture. I got a bit further into the level last night but still can't pass it - it seeks very long. Anyway, To pass this bit, jump right against the wall and you can avoid those guys and easily navigate your fall.
  3. Unsure difference of v1 or v2 but mine definitely works perfectly on my original 2600 without it's own power supply. Just plug receiver into the joystick port, press the button on that, start up the pad and all good for me.
  4. I have the retrobit wireless Genesis / Megadrive controller. It works flawlessly on the original 2600 but does NOT work properly on the 2600+ The fire button works but not the dpad. I've seen a few people say that the above mentioned 7800 adapters should fix that but not read anything with anyone confirming it.
  5. Oh and if you want a laugh, my 2600+ has now stopped working 😂😂 Amazon return started, I'm just having the money back and will play the new games on my Sears..
  6. I have just tested my 7800 carts, I am in UK also. Problem may be slightly worse that we thought. Xevious - garbled screen Food Fight - nothing but blackness JOust - nothing but blackness Choplifter - nothing but blackness Now for the concerning part.. these games "work" - well... not really.... Planet Smashers - works, can't shoot! Crack'ed - works, can't shoot! Jinks - works, paddle can't be flipped (presumably the can't shoot problem described above as same button) Also the paddle immediately drops to the floor when I am not moving in a direction. I tried my Junior's proline controller (believe that is the same as the 7800) and had the same results.. So no 7800 gaming for me yet.. I mean I will wait to see if the Patch happens and if it doesn't fix it all then I will be putting the 7800 stuff back on eBay where it came from.
  7. I (finally) got to the third level last night.. I say finally because it feels like I played the second forever even though I only started playing yesterday! Yea third level is tough. Not sure how many will complete this the traditional way. People who do will be on the same podium of those that beat Altered Beast on original hardware without taking a hit!
  8. That's not badly priced either.. thanks for the recommendation. As soon as payday comes around next I will be grabbing one.
  9. Well, today's the day and here is my unboxing experience! Straight out the box it is easy to tell that the unit has been lovingly crafted, it doesn't look or feel cheap. Its honestly really nice. Plugged it into the HDTV and I was surprised how good it looks. I use an SVideo and composite modded Sears usually and that looks really very nice but HD is actually something else. Not tried side by side yet but it looks great. Played Mr Run and Jump a bit along with Berzerk Enhanced. Mr Run and Jump whilst unforgiving and brutal is damn good and very addictive. Plays well with the Joystick, nice and responsive. Berzerk Enhanced is good but like anything on the 2600, I find it much harder with the joystick compared to a Genesis controller. I just can't get the precision I can with a controller. I think this is my though as I have a problem with the tendons in my right hand now (I am 41 now and you just can't do all the things you used to when you were younger 😂) my grip isn't very good now and the reflexes are slow so I prefer controllers as I am really only using my thumb and finger tips rather than the whole hand. Paddle set: only played Breakout and Kaboom! Both played well, the paddles really feel great. I have two sets of originals. One is fitted with standard jitter and the other has super jitter. It was nice playing with NO jitter, very good indeed! Next, I played Ms Pacman. Could be PAL, could be ME but it was unplayable, no matter which way I moved the joystick it was just doing it's own thing. I had to proper yank on it too. Strange... will try again tomorrow along with other carts. I tried x2 standard Megadrive controllers and neither worked. The 2600+ didn't recognise anything. Finally, I tried the Retrobit Megadrive wireless controller. Strangely, it half works. Only tried with Berzerk but you can shoot just fine but can't move with the D-Pad. Weirdly, If I hold the fire button (B) I can use the D-Pad to aim shots but I just can't move the character. Hopefully an update might rectify this one day.
  10. Just on this point specifically, in the UK we always had extortionate postage to and from other countries way before Brexit including France on our doorstep which I have bought from many times. I have seen many people say "well that's Brexit for you" regarding P&P and it's an entirely false statement, we have always paid high postage, this is why we are known as "RIP off Britain" we are milked. My main complaint with P&P in general is the "but it's going there anyway" argument on small items. So, my sister lives in Orange County, CA. I sent her a Christmas Decoration for her tree of Big Ben (cliche but she lived in London prior for 8 years sooo..) it weighed basically nothing and was about 8inch tall by two inch wide. £18.75!!!! I mean, why.. why that much for a tiny item? The plane is "GOING THERE ANYWAY" irrespective if I send this so why will it cost me that much to send? If I was sending a microwave oven to her then sure, I'm taking up space and it's a weighty item but £18.75 (which by the way would equate to the value of 12 of those decorations) is ludicrous and unnecessarily expensive.
  11. I'm still wondering if plus cart (+) works. I feel bad for not answering it myself as I have that and the 2600+ but I am opening mine on Christmas Day. A huge part of me thinks it won't work but part of me wonders since it's essentially a wifi cart that links up to an online server, so would the 2600+ 'rom dumping' enable it to go online or would it not be able to use whatever is inside the cart to do it.
  12. It was playing Food Fight and Xevious on the Evercade that made me pick the 7800 carts of the same up, so I am still holding out for a patch.
  13. Whilst I love YT I take a lot of 'reviewers' with a fist full of salt now, particularly when they start hating on something because the option is simply don't buy it if it doesn't suit you. Spewing hate on anything is just childish or being done for likes / backhanders. The one that makes me p!ss myself everytime is when DLC is bashed and the review is all "umm like, why am I paying for something that is gonna be free later on" and then in the same video ask you for money on Patreon in return for a video a few days early that will literally be free to everyone else (?) Other dull common themes on specifically Atari videos is the disclaimer of "Did you know that Atari today isn't the same company that is was in the 70's" that tag line has officially replaced "Sonics had a rough transition into 3D" at this point.
  14. Meanwhile at the Atari Preorder Processing Dept..
  15. First bit of gameplay I have ever watched if this, what a sweet looking game!! Honestly I would love to get my hands on this asap but having a 2600+ is one obstacle as it doesn't currently run and being in PAL land will be another as last time I checked AA doesn't ship outside of NA.
  16. It's amazing how far Blaze and Atgames have actually come.. the people who brought us wonky handhelds and consoles now put out stuff like the lovely evercade and the legends pinball table. 👍
  17. Is there any programme (not Codebreaker on the 2600! 😂) that could be used to decipher it?
  18. Password123 or the month of the year has been the password on all the confidential stuff wherever I have ever worked.
  19. Ahh... I have some 7800 games to play then since I started collecting a couple of weeks ago 🤬 / 🤣 I might get lucky with Xevious as there is no 'P' sticker on it or any noticable residue on the back so it could be an NTSC. Hopefully that firmware patch will be in time for Christmas..
  20. That's really very impressive then, I know we live in different times now to the 70s 80s 90s etc but if its shifted 15k so far it's already outsold some formidable consoles of yesteryear in a very short space of time. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_game_consoles
  21. I wonder how many 2600+ units have actually been sold? Would be interesting to know!🧐
  22. It's what constitutes as scan lines for me. Some games have options for them and as you say and it just makes the image look crap. It's like when people put VHS filters on stuff, it looks nothing like VHS did back in the day. VHS along with old game consoles on a CRT look lovely, when you hook them up to (some) modern TVs - not so good.
  23. For me it was Atari Anthology on Xbox which may be 'wonky' by Atari 50 standards but yes whenever I see a compilation released "again!?" of anything it is often a starting point for somebody out there.. my Sons (10 and 7) love the N64 but that's off the back of the Nintendo Online back catalogue - not me or nostalgia.
  24. Absolutely, and to add to the target audience many either won't own or have room for a CRT television and / or doesn't know how to start ripping out innards of original consoles and playing with soldering irons!! The idea of having essentially two consoles in one that will just plug into a modern TV alongside Atari's wish to support development of new games and stuff like new paddles etc makes for a very cool platform IMO... If it all works properly of course... which it doesn't at present 🥴 but I am staying hopeful. I hope it works out!
