  1. I'll go out and check tomorrow morning but when I glanced when talking to the owner about it it was above 75,000, but I may have read that wrong. Actually going out to look right now!

The coin counter reads 76939 and the carved number on the back is 25372. Does that mean this was the 25,372nd Space Invaders cabinet Bally/Midway made?

Wow, over 18,000 dollars earned. The number embossed on the back is probably just what you suspect. Wikipedia claims 60,000 units sold in the United States.

Very Nice setup! I see you have a Star wars, mine is working except for the d&%% ampliphone monitor. I am sending the boards out to chad at arcadecup, he has fixed a few things for me in the past. I can do most X/Y stuff but ampliphone is a pain in the a__. :x

Thanks! ... When I got the Star Wars it played blind. I remember paying a couple hundred for a replacement flyback from wintron (I think). I had to replace the output transistors too and its been working good since then. I got a kit from Clay Cowgill before he stop selling them so it can switch between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes back. http://www.multigame.com/ESB.HTM Do you have any pics of your game(s)?

  4. It's always cool to hear someone likes your game ... Thanks! It also has excellent graphics on the label and in the manual. Nathan Strum and Dave Dries did a superb job designing the label and manual artwork. I always wanted to get a full sized poster of the back of the manual.

    Dave

got the cart, it is a great game

  5. Hi,

    Thanks for playing.

SpaceBattle_NTSC.bin uses following fuel consumption values:

Boss Level = 23 seconds of fuel

Level 1 Armada 23 seconds of fuel

Level 2 Armada 43 seconds of fuel

Decrease fuel reserves by 1 second each level until Level 14 where fuel reserve remains constant at 31 seconds of fuel

SpaceBattleNTSC.bin uses following fuel consumption values:

Boss Level = 26 seconds of fuel

Level 1 Armada 26 seconds of fuel

Level 2 Armada 43 seconds of fuel

Decrease fuel reserves by 1 second each level until Level 10 where fuel reserve remains constant at 33 seconds of fuel

So SpaceBattleNTSC gives you little more fuel :)

    Hi,

    What's the difference between SpaceBattleNTSC.bin

    and SpaceBattle_NTSC.bin?

    Thanks.

I tweaked the fuel levels a lttle differently on this one

    Boss Levels 26 seconds constant

Armada starts at 26 seconds for first easy wave.

    2nd Wave 43 seconds.

decrease second per level approx until.

    10th level 33 seconds.

  6. Before I purchased my High Voltage Probe, I used a device similar to this and never bleed the discharge through a resistor without incuring any damage. Bob Roberts has a good website with advice on Arcade related repairs. His discharge kit does not use any bleed resistors. Randy Fromm's website is also a good resource. I have a couple of his instructional video tapes and he never uses a bleed resistor when discharging. Here is a link to his technical department.

  7. I always write reviews of homebrews in the store but here's some quick impressions since I've been playing my new carts all day.

Space Battle: Uninteresting name for the game, but it's a fun shooter with a few elements that make it very unique for VCS shooters. I'd call it half Megamania/half Demon Attack but that's not doing it justice at all.

Thanks! Option 2 (moveable missiles) is the best way to Battle the enemy. The difficulty settings will change whether or not fuel appears and at what speed it drops. If you're playing without fuel pods and the bombs drop fast with an unmoveable missile, the game is much harder. From Florida on vacation ... 82 and sunny at Fort Myers Beach
