  1. I could be wrong (and probably am), but I think the Trak drives and the Rana 1000 could read them all. I had a Rana way back in the day. -Ken
  2. Any idea what an AlberTT card is worth? 1024x768x16 VME card (TT, MegaSTe) I have two of them in my "pile o stuff I'm getting rid of" Thanks! -Ken UPDATE: Cards are sold, thanks!
  3. Monitors: I use a NEC MultiSync 3D for st-Low and Med, if you can find one, grab it. The VGA adapter cable works great for ST-High. I'd make up a bunch, but I can only find ST monitor connectors with solid pins - huge pain in the rump to solder. -Ken
  4. Hi again! I've posted one of my TT030's up on ebay. You can check it out here Thanks! -Ken
  5. I just posted a couple more of these machines over in the Marketplace category. So peek over there if you are interested. Thanks! -Ken
  6. Hi all! I have a couple more 1040 STf machines left that are looking for new homes: 1 meg memory TOS 1.02 dead floppy drive (drive not included, but screws and stand-offs are) no mouse, floppies or documentation - computer only. The above machines are FREE - you just pay shipping and a couple bucks for packing materials. I also have 2 machines as above, but with working floppy drives (720's pulled from my TTs) Those are $10 + ship + packing pictures of the machines at my cheesy web site Machines are as is, but I'll run whatever test you like before I ship. I *may* have a TOS 1.0 machine left if you'd prefer that. PM me with your zipcode, and I'll send the ship/pack total back to you. I do accept paypal. Thanks! -Ken
  7. No sandpaper!!!!!! clean the cartridge contacts with a soft pencil eraser!
  8. Bingo! No SCART in the USA. I really don't want to go the composite or S-Video route. What are your thoughts on an oversampling line doubler? (other than the price)
  9. I haven't found an LCD that'll do 15 KHz yet. As for the scan doubler, I figured it would look decent if I way oversampled the incoming signal. The ST's sync signals should be fairly solid (I haven't checked tho). If you took several samples per pixel, I think it would minimize shimmering and what not. Since we'd only be buffering one (or two) ST lines, the memory price shouldn't be horrible. Granted, you aren't going to do it for $30 tho.
  10. I've looked into making one, need 3 channels of A/Ds, a PLL, some dual port memory and a DAC. Parts are kinda pricey tho =[ Got links to the Amiga ones? Making an adapter cable should be simple enough.
  11. ddd Falcon 4 meg / 256meg Sandisk / TOS 4.04 / Odd motherboard booster / CT-63(soon) Beavercreek, Ohio
  12. Is there a list of games compatible with the TT somewhere? Thanks! -Ken
  13. Hi all, Still clearing out some of the extra Atari's I have here! I've got a couple TT 030's that will need new homes. Fired the first one up today: 2 meg ST/4 meg TT RAM 85 meg Quantum Hard Drive Will include keyboard and mouse. Has 1.44 floppy, but no AJAX. 32 MHz cpu, older style with metal shielding. Case and keyboard have fair amount of yellowing. I was thinking I might ebay it: Need to get an idea of what I should get for it. Any thoughts? Thanks! -Ken
  14. Hi folks, 1040 shipping status update: Just got back from the frozen arctic tundra of upstate new york. Needless to say, my flights were seriously delayed (1st was actually cancelled- they rolled us out to the runway, drove down it, decided the weather was too bad to take off, and brought us back to the gate!). Anyway, if you are waiting for an ST from me, I probably wont get to the post office till tomorrow. Thanks! -Ken
  15. I'm mailing out some 1040STs next week, and I wanted to do some more rigorous testing on them before I ship. They power-up and run Time Bandit, but thats about the sum total of my tests. I'd hate to have someone get a bum ST from me. Anyway, is there some piece of software out there that will test out as much of the hardware as possible? I'm dimly aware of the eixistence a diagnostic cartridge, but I'd much prefer something I could download and throw at the machines before they ship next week. Thoughts? Thanks! -Ken
  16. The new house is bigger than the old one, yet has less storage space (go figure!) A lot of my 'computer junk' that used to be 'out of sight, out of mind' no longer is. I may part with one or two of the TT030's - Any idea on what they are worth? -Ken
  17. I had a couple of requests for pictures and whatnot. I took a couple shots and tossed them up on my website, you can see them at: www.badcow.net/st/1040.html Cheers!
  18. Hi all, I think I have enough takers, if you replied before this message you are on my list. I'll send pms to all of you with shipping costs, I will be out of town for work from Monday thru Thursday, so the earliest I can ship is Friday. Cheers! -Ken
  19. Hi all! Too many computers, not enough space (you all know the drill, right?) Anyway, I've got a half dozen or so 1040STf machines that need new homes. They all suffer from the same issue: Dead floppy drives. I've swapped a known good drive in them, and they seem to work fine at that point. Alas, new drives would probably cost me almost as much as I could sell them for, so... Here's the deal, I will give away the machines for the cost of shipping. I'm in Ohio, so it shouldn't be too bad to most places in the U.S. Drop in a new floppy, and you'll have a nice 1040ST. (These are the machines only, no mice, cords, etc.) If you are interested, shoot me an email or a pm with your zip code and desired ship method, I'll check on the cost and get back to you. First come, first paid, first served. I'd prefer to do it "one to a customer", unless no one ends up wanting them. Naturally, being free and all, they are 'as-is', but I'll run whatever tests you like before shipping to make sure they check out. Enjoy! No not leaving the scene, still got a MegaSTe, 3 TT030's and a Falcon =] (and an XEGS, and a couple Lynxes, and ... well, you see the problem!) -Ken update: went and checked usps and ups, looking at between $15 and $25 depending on location.
  20. I have an opened copy of Roadblasters with box and manual. the top flap has a tear about 1/2 from the edge, otherwise in good condition if you are interested.
  21. I might have that, I'll check tomorrow for you.
  22. Thankfully, I managed a Rana 1000 shortly thereafter...kept me sane back in the day!
  23. Ugh, I still have to put the CT-63 in the Falcon, but I think I could be coerced into buying one for my TT as well.
  24. Oh, I SO remember those agonizing load times: fire up the 410, go get a sandwich, come back, the guy is almost to the top of the ladder, then, BAM, load error.... ARGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
