You're correct - I neglected to note the 3.5" floppy. Updating original post. I actually used the keyboard for a very short while with a PS/2 converter. I love the tactile response, but I was no longer digging the click.
-
And the keyboard is here: http://www.slor.net/trade/pc/xtkb.jpg Also, I checked, and what looks like a scratch in the top of the main unit is actually just a piece of debris.

Anyone here happen to be interested in acquiring a working XT? I picked one up a few years back and just haven't had a whole lot of use for it, so perhaps there's someone here who would. It's in excellent condition (both cosmetically and functionally), and here are the general specs: - 640 KB RAM - 20 MB hard drive - 5.25" 360 KB floppy drive - 3.5" 720 KB floppy drive - Currently running DOS 3.3a - Includes IBM 5151 TTL monitor (solid picture without burn-in) Photos at: http://www.slor.net/trade/pc/ibmxt.jpg http://www.slor.net/trade/pc/xtkb.jpg Looking for $100 + shipping (or local pickup in Indianapolis, IN). Thanks! James

Slor replied to Slor's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Correct - these are not crossover cables. -
Anyone who hasn't added the IRC gateway to your BBS list, please feel free to: For VT100 emulation (if you're using and Atari with Ice-T or other VT100-capable terminal), telnet to irc.atarichat.net, port 800. For ASCII dumb terminal, telnet to irc.atarichat.net, port 400. Thanks!

I've started posting photos here: http://www.slor.net/tt/ Not yet pictured: Docs and software for DaynaPort and Spectre GCR.

To receive your AA pricing, just enter the promotion code atariage2012 during checkout. Feel free to PM me with any questions or any special hosting requests. Thanks!

So, for telnet, you have two options now: #1: telnet://irc.atarichat.net:800 This one is for anyone running a VT100-capable terminal (Ice-T falls into that category). #2: telnet://irc.atarichat.net:400 This is a simple, ascii-only interface to the same channel, for use with a wider array of terminals. Still being tested, so let me know if you see any issues. Or the web interface is can be gotten to at http://urql.com/[email protected] And, of course, the main IRC is irc://chat.freenode.net. James

Did you try changing the setting on your output device (TV or VCR) from cable input to antenna input? The 3/4 output issue sounds like something I've seen due to input settings needing to be changed on a TV. I could be completely wrong, but that rings a bell. Also, sloopy is the guy I was gonna recommend to do that mod for you if you want it done. He'll do a great job at a good price.

Well, there's actually not an excuse. The story is that some idiot actually shipped him a 600XL with no freakin' major ICs in it due to a mix-up in the time-space continuum. I won't expose the guilty party, but his AA nick rhymes with "score". At any rate, I would suspect the POKEY at this point - either not seated properly or bad? Or perhaps damage to the RF unit before the owner realized that wasn't the issue? Suggestions welcome. He who shall remain nameless would like to anonymously apologize for this stupidity. The buyer will be satisfied...

Sloopy figured out a direct link for the web-based interface to the channel: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=##Atari
-
You kids and your fancy lingo... Yeah Moya - drop on by!
-
I've been asked by the Express! copyright holder to NOT pursue this effort, so I consider this topic closed. Thanks everyone for your input.
-
Yeah, same with many IRC clients. In MIRC, for example, it's as easy as selecting from the menu as well or simply typing "/server freenode" in your first window to connect (and of course add ##Atari to your auto-join list ). Thanks sloop.
-
FYI to everyone here who joins us in IRC (or who has always wanted to) - we are no longer using newnet.net as our main contact point. This is due to a number of stability and other issues over a number of months, and it seems like a good time to move. We've listened to folks' suggestions and are now on freenode in channel ##atari. Yes, 2 hashes for the channel name, per freenode's guidelines. So, you have at least a couple ways to get there, and I bet Sloopy will follow up with more: Connect your favorite IRC client to chat.freenode.net and join channel ##atari. Telnet to irc.atarichat.net, port 800. This is the same as before, and it will now put you in the freenode channel. Hope to see all you regs and some new folks there soon! Any questions, feel free to send me a PM. thanks James

irc.atarichat.net:800 is back alive and kicking - sorry for the issues.

The cartridge and software on it is simply called Express! - it's in a passthru cart like SpartaDOS X and the like. It's indeed from Orion, and I do have an image of it lying around - it's a 64K. Banking just like the other passthru carts (with a different banking address of course). There is some rumor that this cart might have also included some SRAM for saving phonebook entries or something, but I have yet to see evidence of that. The ROM runs fine in an emulator, and I'm afraid to try to open my original cart and break those stupid little pins. I would think you'd be able to do something with this in a similar manner as SDX was ported to the Atarimax flash cart, but that's beyond my area of expertise to implement.
