  1. Haven't looked thru all of these... http://amog.com/tech/gaming/oldschool-videogames/
  2. Taito also officially released Front Line on the MSX. Also Front Line was released by Coleco for the Atari 2600 in 1984.
  3. I know this is old news (128 bytes mentioned it a year ago) but Frotz for the iPhone got mentioned in the top iPhone games of 2008 by Macworld. (Another Macworld review here, Frotz for the iPhone is free and available at the Appstore). Info on Infocom games available here. Wish I had an iPhone.
  4. What is the best Christmas/Holiday-themed classic game?
  5. If someone adds you to their friends list in AA that you don't know, what does that mean exactly (in terms of the function of the site).

  7. Take a look at this post: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=1632742 Thanks for posting, RT! I am not disappointed that it will be coming in January (I can wait) but I am disappointed that more people didn't order them (yet). I know for a fact that if these things were on the shelves at walmart, target, best buy, and major discount computer chains like the FB2 was, that they would definitely sell many more, but maybe that would be high cost up front.
  8. AA had a URL to get a synd feed of all blogs: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?a...p;req=syndicate So I added that to http://blogsearch.google.com/ping?hl=en and voila! So now as long as the URL stays the same, all AA blogs will now be indexed in Google! Sweet!!
  9. I tried just adding &req=syndicate to the end of a URL, but that didn't work... Is there a way to get an RSS feed to an AA forum? (I'd love to watch the latest via feed reader of batari Basic, classic gaming, generic chat, current events, computers and technology, etc.) And on the same lines as the other post, maybe those could be registered in Google's blog search: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping?hl=en
  10. Something related that could really help drive people to AtariAge from Google: Google has a blog search and feeds can be registered here: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping?hl=en If all new AA blogs could be added to that, then it would be yet another way for people's blogs to be noticed. All blog feeds on AA appear to be in the format: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?a...p;req=syndicate (where blogid is the variable. blogid=168 is atari2600land's blog for example) I know that isn't exactly the topic of the thread, but thought I'd mention this, because I'd really like to see AA blog hits when I use Google's blog search feeds to get news and info on classic games.
  11. JJ Sonick has a great blog about the Apple II here: http://www.mozomedia.com/apple2/
  12. I'm interested in trying to help sell (as agent or reseller) rights to play roms, bins, dsks, etc. legally, so that owners of MAME cabinets, emulators, etc. can play legally. Does anyone have any advice about going about gathering contact info for those that own rights to classic games?
  13. Combat was good. Armor Ambush was better.
  14. Also, see spiceware's advice in here about how to get JStella 0.95 to work. I was trying to get my page updated with JStella last night and it didn't work. I'm might try again with that advice to use "jstella.applet.JStellaApplet.class" as the class. So instead of the old You use
  15. Click in the applet window to click focus and then: You can't use the mouse as a joystick afaik, only a paddle. And I had trouble last night figuring out how to "unmouse" so I switched computers...
  16. You could hack a Wii to play Java stuff, but last I read you couldn't use Java. However, I hope that they change that eventually.
  17. Here's my stuff, but some of it is just awful: http://www.geocities.com/fortapocalypse/games.html My favorite in JStella is spiceware's Medieval Mayhem: http://www.spiceware.org/atari_medieval_ma...lay_online.html There is also Thrust but the JStella running it doesn't work for me- maybe that one needs an update too: http://jstella.mauvila.com/ By choosing the combobox at the bottom of http://www.ataritimes.com/jstella/index.php and pressing play, there are a lot of games. Sound emulation, etc. is better with later version of JStella.
  18. That is a really good question. I am guessing if there were a way to map the joystick to key input somehow (and maybe there is an app for that somewhere) it might be possible.
  19. We need to ask ataritimes if they will update the version of JStella running on that page. In later versions of JStella you can change difficulties. Per the controls page: However, I'm not sure if that is working on the current page.
  20. Oops I forgot Pacman, Ms. Pacman, Frogger, and Karateka. And Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, ... I guess I just like 'em all. And I like http://arcade.hofle.com/
