Sorry for the duplicate topic. See Original thread.

Super Mario Bros I
Zelda
Star Wars (arcade game)
Tron (arcade game)
And there were some good ones, although not quite as memorable in:
Summer Games - various
Winter Games - various
And for best game "anti-soundtrack", Quake. Even though the soundtrack was good, I used to like playing that with a disco music CD in the drive. Nothing like Quake and BeeGees. Or how about Quake and Rubberband Man?

From http://www.pagetable.com/?p=43
If you have a Commodore PET with BASIC V2 (1979) type the following at command line immediately after it starts up:
WAIT6502,1
Which replaces part of the letters at top with MICROSOFT!
This easter egg embedded after the definition of the SIN() coefficients also appears in:
* KIM-1
* Tangerine Microtan 65
* Tangerine Oric-1 and Oric-Atmos
* Pravetz 8D
* TRS-80 Color Computer and the TRS-80 MC-10
Another similar easter egg:
* TSR-80 Color Computer (1980) - type "CLS9" (or CLS and any higher number) to see MICROSOFT easter egg
* TRS-80 MC-10
* Dragon 32 (64, too?) - type "CLS9" (or CLS and any higher number) to see "© 1982 BY MICROSOFT" easter egg
Others:
* Altair BASIC(?) - at memory size prompt in startup type ctrl-'A' (?)
* CompuColor - at memory size prompt in startup type ctrl-'A'
* Ohio Scientific’s Challenger - at memory size prompt in startup type 'A'

I'm trying to beef up the page that I use to keep on top of things.
Most of the feeds I really like most are the google blog search feeds and retrogaming roundtable, but I'd like to add more.
What are your favorite RSS/Atom feeds for getting info on classic gaming and classic computers?
-
According to google trends, the number of people searching for classic gaming and roms have been steadily decreasing over the past few years, as is the interest in people searching for women (for those interested in men, interest has stayed relatively constant), while interest in the wii is going up (and spikes in early Dec.). From the many searches I tried (apple ii, commodore 64, atari 2600), it at first appeared that classic gaming and classic computing interest was going down, but other searches in more mundane things were also on the decrease, leading me to believe that people are becoming less google-centric and using other sites more (like AtariAge!).

about what? rule 34?rule 34 is the rule that dictates that whatever might turn you on, can be found on the internet.
as in.. your most depraved fantasy, that sick little thing you gotta put in your head to "finish the job" as it were.. that twisted little fantasy you may have that you could never EVER devulge to ANYBODY.. is infact.. some ones pain in the ass job
what about rules 1-33? and how many rules are there? -

Has anyone spread the good news about these joysticks elsewhere? I know there are a number of AtariAge members here http://www.digitpress.com/forum/index.php even though I'm not a member. Might be good to start a topic over there.I searched for topics on their site containing http://www.legacyengineer.com/store.html and found nothing (actually I found everything).
And where are the people with well-read blogs that have posted about it? We need to get the word out.
Read the thead, it has been posted by some of us forumites an Amiga Forums, the new Pandora Forums, MAME world, its been digged (dugg?) etc etc etc, but no harm in spreading the news far and wide
I've been keeping track, mostly.
I was the one that dugg(?) it. However, it would be nice if everyone reading the thread that hasn't already evangelized it, did. The more orders he gets, the faster we get it! -

Bring on Mega Man 9. And while you're at it, why not Donkey Kong 4 or Pitfall III?Even Ghostbusters could be considered neo-retro. The game series is listed in wikipedia but basically encompassed a number of computers and consoles as well as arcade and 16 years after the last of original 9 years of releases it's coming out again by Atari.
-
Personally, I don't see the appeal of these "Neo-Retro" games. They hold no nostalga value for me.I think that it is really not a new thing to be using older game characters or themes in newer games. It is not really a fad and has been going on for quite a while with the pacman series (long after pacman there came pac world, and a myriad of others), the donkey kong series (from early stuff on the 2600 to snes stuff, etc.), the mario series (and related character games- from super mario bros. to the Wii), castle wolfenstein series (castle wolfenstein, beyond..., 3D, the one from a few years ago, etc.).
I think that as long as those that have the nostalgia for a game are part of the target market, they'll continue to make the neo-retro games.
-
Slashdot article asking if neo-retro game releases are a fad, but branches out to ask what people think of classic gaming:

Speak up and be heard on Slashdot while you have a chance...

Curt,
Any news? Just curious about whether you have gotten enough orders yet to manufacture and whether you might have a distribution date planned yet.
How did sales go so far (ok, good, better than expected?)?

Sorry for the crosspost, but this is too awesome not to share:
This video flythrough of the battlezone and tron cabinets is just awesome. As noted in Retro Thing
Higher quality version available at Peter Hirschberg's site: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/portfolio/s...ion_tron_bz.avi
(need divx to play that one: http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/ )
His other stuff is here:

I think the graphic updates were a good idea, They look nice. I wonder if it will have an option to play with the original graphics as well?Yes! http://toucharcade.com/2008/11/03/lemonade...le-ii-graphics/

This is the most incredible conversion I've ever seen in my entire life! There are no words available to express how cool this is!
Now if we could only send it back it time...
-
Unbelievable. I thought it was a fine game, but who would have thought this would have been ported?
-
I'm guessing no one remembers the game with the cowboys that you had to wait for a very obvious glimmer (flash) in their eye before shooting them.
Anyone know another forum/site where someone might know?

An Atari joystick this Christmas?

Accidentally just started another topic on this, but oh well: http://www.retrothing.com/2008/11/classic-atari-j.html
Noticed they said it would start shipping in the beginning of December!
