  1. It doesn't work for me on XP either. All other previous verisons to 9.1.a do work without any problems. The error says it is not a valid WIN32 application. This is on a 32bit XP SP3 system. Back to version 8.3.e for the time being.
  2. For sure with the hard work on combing through the code for the fix. The level of effort is greatly appreciated by other users. Beautiful stuff to behold for these old classic computers.
  3. Indeed, the PEB "piano" brick strikes again. Who knew that TI had designed a weapon of mass destruction back in 1980 or thereabouts.
  4. For sure as it could also be used as a bunker busting bomb when dropped from a few feet. It's a good measure to wear steel-toed work boots when handling that dead weight.
  5. Good suggestion as these old cards need all the help in extending their functionality as heat being the number one enemy towards any electronic component. You still have to hand it to TI for building these system. The old PEB was manufactuered to military standards at least by today's standard. LOL.
  6. That's looks awesome. Can't wait to see a fully built unit.
  7. I tried this modification and it does work very well. Be careful in removing the existing ROM chips as the traces are quite close. I did not have the proper equipment to do it so I brought it to a local electronic repair shop. They desoldered the ROMS without any damage, soldered the sockets in less than hour. I used the 80 track eprom for DSK2 and DSK3 and 40 track eprom for DSK1 since I have a 3.5" diskette as DSK2. It works great formatting the 3.5" drive using either 40 or 80 tracks. One thing to bear in mind that you must use Disk Manager 2 to format to 80 tracks or Fred's DM2K. DM1000 will not work as it's limited to 40 tracks. I will now try the other set of eproms that will allow 80 tracks on my doble sided DSK1 5.25" floppy drive that already supports 80 tracks. This will make it easier to copy between the 3.5" and the 5.25" drives. This project is a great addon to the PEB FDC. Not sure why pushed the 40 track system to begin with.
  8. It would simply things quite a bit IMO and provide all the floppy/disk drive power in a modern style case. Making the railing support cage would be quite simple especially if one would use the existing setup in the PEB assuming your IO board spacing is the same. Regardless, good stuff for the old TI99/4A.
  9. Did you ever consider using a typical PC styple computer case that already has the ATX power supply and drive bays? It might be quite easy to install your IO board in the same area where the motherboard would be installed. Just a tought.
  10. That is one ambitious project. I'm sure that when you complete the project, many users will probably upgrade their systems with it.
  11. Looks like a great project. What about keeping the existing PEB but replace the outdated power supply boat anchor with a typical PC ATX style power suppy instead. Just wondering if anybody has done that upgrade before. Roger
  12. It would be nice to have something similar to: DIR > PIO.CR. or DIR > CATALOG (a DV80 file) and then use the TYPE command with the CRTL-W as you noted. As you hinted, this might come about down the road.....fingers crossed. BTW, forcecommand is an incredible tool on the TI99/4A. Kudos for the great work and the ongoing support that you provide. Thanks.
  13. Is there any way to redirect the TYPE or DIR command to a printer like PIO or RS232? Just wondering how to print a directory listing of a drive or a DV80 file from the command line. Cheers Roger
  14. And now I know why I'm not able to create the directories under a TI-99/4A setup, HDR4000B simply doesn't support it. Just wondering if the TI99/4A works with the IDE card, then why not with the HDR4000B. I suspect it's related to legacy code that goes back to the original HRD design. We can only hope that a future ROS release will include directory/sub-directory support.
  15. That's great news. Looking forward to it. Thanks
  16. Well, it's good to know that others also had the same issue. Regardless, whether it's a bug or not, going forward all of my directory and sub-directory names will not include those characters as it does play havoc with listing those directories and sub-directories on Ti99Dir when viewing them from an image file.
  17. With my setup, I have the IDE card at >1000 and the HRD4000B at >1500. On the HRD, the DSK numbers start from 4 to 8. The rest is RAMBO. While copying from DSK4 to IDE Partition #3, it corrupted both DSK4 and my Partition #3 with very large file sizes. Luckily I had backups. Not sure what caused that glitch. I was under the impression that directories and sub-directories were allowed on the HRD4000B, but that's not what I found out. Kind of disappointed about that. FYI, I discovered that any directory and sub-directory name that has the character / or : in their names, I was not able to access them within a saved image file using Ti99Dir 8.2c. I created the image file using Win32 Disk Imager in Windows 10. The image file is successfully created. Using Ti99Dir, I can access any partition that I have on the IDE drive off that image file, except for directories and sub-directories that have the / or : in their names. A DSR error 7 occurs. That error does not occur for filenames that reside in other directories. I had to rename all of those directories and sub-directories on my IDE partitions and then make a new image file backup. I'm not sure if it's just my system or if there's a bug in Ti99Dir.
  18. Has anyone setup a Horizon 4000B together with the latest IDE card DSR? I currently have the IDE card at CRU >1000 and I'm wondering if it's better to have the 4000B at >1000 and put the IDE card at another CRU address, say >1200. Since the 4000B is faster, it would make sense to have recognized at the fist device. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
  19. Well, that is super useful. Never would have figured out how to use without those instructions. Thank you so much for getting these. Time to print them off for safe keeping.
  20. Okay, looks like I need to add that to my TODO list. Keep me posted if you find it. Thanks.
  21. How does this Eprom work with the 128k Foundation card? The QS-Ramcopy software is not very user friendly. Are there Basic CALL statements to create a small ramdisk that is part of the Eprom or is there special Myarc software required to access it? I need to know how simple or complex this is going to be as this ex-manager friend is not very computer savvy, knows just enough to be dangerous, i.e., if it doesn't work, use a bigger hammer is his troubleshooting skills. Simple CALL statements would be better for him.
  22. How much is it and does it require any modification in replacing the existing Foundation eprom?
  23. It works, but a little confusing the first time around. Where does one get the eprom and the 512k upgrade? I'm sure my ex-manager would be interested in doing the upgrade.
  24. Thank you for searching through your archives in finding this as it's greatly appreciated. I will be trying it out today. I'm sure my friend who has the Foundation 128k will be more than thrilled in finally being able to fully use the card for what it was designed for.
  25. You have what, the QS-Ramdisk software for the Foundation 128k?
