  1. Yeah, it looks like a cross between a SNES or Genesis and a NEOGEO. But it DOES look like an interesting system, I'll have to look into it more. I think I might like collecting for it. For 2D games there are a couple to compare directly to the Jaguar, Cannon Fodder and Power Drive ("RALLY" on the Jaguar). Power Drive Rally is clearly superior to Power Drive on the CD32, though Cannon Fodder looks closer, but doesn't seem to have the color depth of the Jaguar version. But there are a lot of FPS and polygon games on the system, that regardless of comparisons, still look interesting. I had no idea there were as many games for the CD32 as there are! I also believe Brutal Sports Football is on both the Jaguar and CD32. I found BSF to be highly enjoyable...
  2. I will sayone thing, I've learned ore about the CD32 on this Atari Jaguar-centered board than I have on Wikipedia or any other place. I'm mighty impressed. I appreciate all the comments and any other comments are welcomed.
  3. This is mainly a topic of curiosity for me that I just couldn't help but post. I have been looking through the "Jaguar vs. 3DO?" topic with much interest, especially seeing that the general consensus of the members here is that both systems are quite equal. With that in mind, how does the Commodore Amiga CD32 look when stacked against the good ole Atari Jaguar? Note, keep in mind that I am not looking for which system is better than the other. Really, that's subjective as my favorite system happens to be the Sega Genesis. All I am looking for is a valid comparison so that I can get a better picture of the CD32's capabilities. I would prefer this to not degenerate into a bash thread, but that can't be helped sometimes. Again, all I am looking for is valid comparisons on the advantages and disadvantages of each system, etc. I would also like to ask would you recommed the Amiga CD32? There is a couple of EBay and I've been considering catching one, but I know next to nothing about the system, or the games for it.
  4. Sega Genesis - My baby. This is the system I grew up with and the one I share the most memories with. I have a pretty good collection of games, most of them a good joy to play. Great memories with Sonic the Hedgehog, World of Illusion, and others. Nintendo Entertainment System - The first true system I remember ever playing. It was given to me by my first father and it's a system I have fond memories of. Good games & such. However, as is the case with most Nintendo systems, the passion just isn't there for me. Super Nintendo - Got it for my birthday in the early 90s. An ok system, but only have about 4 games for it. Aside from Super Mario World, never had THAT much fun with it. Sony Playstation - The system that probably reintroduced gaming to me, 2nd only to the Genesis. Lots of good memories with it, thanks to Spyro the Dragon and NASCAR. Sony Playstation 2 - Great system, plenty of fun. Sly Cooper, Rathet & Clank, Final Fantasy VII, and others. Atari Jaguar - System that attracted me, thanks to it's cult staus. Now that I have one, love it too death. AvP, Canon Fodder, Tempest 2000, and Super Burnout are all games that I enjoy and count among my favorites of all time. Sega Dreamcast - The system that I wanted most, aside from the Jag. Just got it a month ago and I'm slowly building up a library of games. Both of the Sonic Adventure games are great fun. I see great potential for this machine, like I do with the Jaguar.
  5. Don't be surprised if you see a flurry of sniped bids in the last few moments. A lot of Jag collectors have taken to sniping to avoid dealing with SSFU's bidding wars. Maybe...maybe not. Really, I won an auction yesterday for a Jaguar and Jag-CD, both boxed and in excellent condition, not to mention around 7 or so games, most unopened, including Defender 2000. For the entire set, I only paid $122.50, plus 30.00 s/h. I expected a fight for it at the end, but no such thing. Oh well.
  6. Out of all of the Jaguar games I own, for some reason, Canon Fodder stands out. I can appreciate and surely enjoy Tempest 2000 and Alien vs. Predator, but for some reason, I always come back to Canon Fodder. I do like Real Time Strategy games and this one provides a nice spin on the genre that I can especially appreciate, even after playing Age of Empires. Sure, the graphics maybe dated, but the controls and gameplay are just so darned addictive. The music isn't half-bad either. Anyone else feel the same way?
  7. Title says it all. I received my Jaguar a couple of months ago and have been steadily building a collection of games for it. Absolutely adore Canon Fodder and Tempest 2000. I already have AvP ordered (along with Doom, BattleMorph, and Myst) and am eagerly awaiting it. Still looking for a Jag-CD and a composite cord...
  8. Still looking for a good deal on one. I've came close on two occasions. I may get one from Bullseyes on EBay, but I'd rather not...
  9. 2005. A couple of months ago, to be exact. Bought it on EBay boxed for about $91.00 ($75.00, plus 12 or 15 something shipping & handling). Was used, but works like new. Cybermorph came with it, as well as a 2nd controller.
