Yes indeedy ,like the ferrite cores in a cb radio power circuit. However it is now fixed ,and running with the rca mod and new caps too ,so I'm a happy camper. Thanx for replying tho !!!

Hello ,my 7800 sound is buzzy and fuzzy ,just static or nothing. I can adjust the 7800 and 2600 colour pots to perfect clarity ,the RF picture pot is also adjustable to perfect clarity ,however my ferrite sound potentiometer is jammed like a mutha !!!. I was thinking about a standard potentiometer like in a guitar for example as a replacement. Also I purchased an RCA mod kit. Would the mod kit bypass the ferrite pot?. Any ideas ???.

Hello ,my 7800 sound is just a big buzz. I can tune the picture on 7800 and 2600 carts to perfect clarity. I've tried tuning the rf box ,and it didn't help. The sound pot ferrite core is jammed ,and cannot be adjusted. Can I replace it with a potentiometer, or drill out the stuck core???. I have an rca mod kit on stand by ,but I would rather keep the machine original. Any ideas ???.
