Hi! Does anyone know of any decent and detailed books (or websites) about programming your own Atari 2600 games? Thank you!
PS: Sorry if this has been asked before

The FB3 looks exciting! My Bday is coming up soon, so I'll be treating myself to one of these

If anyone figures out how to fix up the cartridge port, will somebody please show us "port illiterate" folks how to do this, possibly with a photo step-by-step guide
It would be most appreciated - thanx!

I would say ANY game on the 2600 would be cool for kids of all ages, minus a few exceptions like titles from Mystique, Playaround, Wizard, and the other adult-targeted carts.
I agree the Sesame Street related games are excellent for kids (they get to have fun and you get to be all nostalgic with the Atari LOL
). If you also have a little girl, Strawberry Shortcake Musical Match-up's would be ideal for her.
Good luck!

Hmmmm.....
1 - Q*Bert - My original Atari favorite. Too bad Ugg and Wrong-Way didn't make the cut for the 2600, but I still enjoy this version to this day.
2 - Chase The Chuckwagon - Mostly for nostalgia reasons - gotta love the commercial LOL. I still break this game out here & there for fun, but I'll admit it doesn't get too exciting.
3 - Ms. Pac-Man - A classic that'll never get old.
4 - Burgertime - Another classic, even though the 2600 version is pretty inferior and slow.
5 - Kool-Aid Man - Only for the reason that I'm STILL trying to figure this damn game out, so it'll give me something to do! LOL
