There's a YouTube user by the name of RoahmMythril that has done a buster-only perfect run of the main robot master levels, and the challenges for all playable characters in the game. Definitely worth a look to get an idea of how hard some of the challenges are.

Only other thing that intrigues me about my monitor is whether or not it would accept a 25KHz signal (if, say, I wanted to buy a Virtua Fighter board), and if there is any capture device that could capture something of that frequency.
-
Plus, on top of that I don't think I would look into any arcade board to use with it that needs a 25KHz monitor (no way to capture that). I'll probably go with their home ports (like the Virtua Fighter ports to Saturn and Dreamcast).

I think Pac-Man World 2 had Pac-Mania in it. Metroid Prime allowed play of the original NES game when linked to Fusion on the GBA.
-
I'm in a similar situation as him. The only difference lies in the fact my NEC monitor has BNC connectors for horizontal and vertical sync (and if I remember right, the Genesis and a few others only output composite sync).

Excellent! For some reason, Elecman always makes me think of Stewie from "Family Guy"..

I am willing to keep $100 on a SunPass every week just to visit twice a week to remain a repeat customer. I look forward to the gramd opening, Rick

I can definitely say Protoman/Blues makes the game a bit easy. If only due to his shield blocking smaller projectiles and his buster (PROTO-STRIKE!!) causing so much damage even enemies with shielding can't guard against it.
-
Dude, I'm almost drooling in anticipation and jealousy.. I don't care how expensive it'd get to drive down there, I'd go every week just to make sure you have a continued patron.

Iunno, man, CWU-01P was pretty tough to battle as FireMan. Since you can't shoot the actual Fire Storm while underwater. FULL reliance on the barrier.. ugh..

Yeah, Mega is the final of the twelve. He's going to be even more hell than Roll is on Normal/Hard, due to kicking being his ONLY form of attack.
-
In a good few ways, I agree with Ataritard. Those rare CX-10 sticks had more of a miniaturized arcade feel from the springs. Playing Robotron on my Atari 400 or 7800 just felt "right" using them.
-
Yeah, if you think that's hard.. try using plain old Mega on Hard mode.. Fighting the rematch bosses (or even the first time around) and bosses like CWU-01P with no attack other than a Boot to Da Head.
As a well-known flash animation put it: "You SUCK, Wily.."

Sorry for the late-as-hell reply, Cybergoth, but glad you're enjoying the game. I can definitely say Roll is quite powerful (is it any reason why most of the other Robot Masters are terrified of her?), and I think my other two favorites are MegaMan-C and ProtoMan.

Ye gods, man! Either before ankle surgery or a few months post-op, can I come visit?

-
I know someone here tried to get a meet going on once. Sadly didn't pan out too well. I would be all for that again once I've had surgery and can travel/contribute again.

Actually, Thorsten, the Amiga does indeed have NTSC/PAL differences. I've an A1200 that not only shows PAL as the default monitor-type, but also refuses to give color on ANYTHING but my NEC XM2960. Mostly due to the color encoder for composite out. I think the same on ST machines could be said for the STm/STFm machines.

My stuff listed is not for sale for the time being. Surgery coming up, and will be off my feet for a couple months. I'll re-open as soon as I get better.

Take care!

newcoleco, have you tried the trick of using the noise channel on the third audio channel of the coleco? I know it's emulated in the Chipsounds VST plugin, and it allows for a bigger octave variation than the dedicated noise channel.

Nevermind, forgot to dial down the AFT. Forgive my moment of "derp". Clicking this door shut and handing the mods the key.

As the topic states, I'm looking into eventually doing game recording of some kind for my various systems (Ataris, ST, Coleco, Intellivision, NES, SMS, Amiga, etc). As the topic states, I'll be using the various passthrus of my NEC XM-29 Plus to do so. Here's where things get rather confusing:
Quite a few of my systems support RGB output, and some (like my Amiga) support multiple low/mid-res settings. I have also contemplated building a supergun to use on the monitor to try and record arcade games. For those, my concerns are mainly with the mid-res games.
Does anyone have a solution for capturing the RGB pass-thru from my monitor?

Sure I mentioned it, but Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City Beach FL had a really nice one. Space Invaders Part II, Jr. Pac-Man, DK, DK Jr, Double Dragon, Crystal Castles, and numerous other classics. Sadly it and the amusement park itself are gone (much to the infuriation of myself and a friend who lives there). It was one of the highlights of summer trips to that beach.

Look forward to the new update, and the video demos. Keep it up!
