  1. That's one of the things people loved about using flash drives: at slowest it reads as fast as the optical drive and at fastest it works as fast as the harddrive itself.
  2. Hey, always glad to help. Just keep in mind, for flash drives on the 360 there are two things to be aware of: maximum capacity of 16GB, and the device needs to be capable of sustaining a certain read/write speed at minimum (not sure what it is) to be considered usable for the 360.
  3. You're right, Larcen. Whereas normally defeat by a boss sends you back to the previous section, Act-6 PUNISHES you by sending you all the way back to 6-1 (watch Retro Game Master Ep. 1 on Kotaku to see this). For all but the most hardcore NG players this is where people decide to turn the game off. It's hard enough to get to the boss room alone, but when you have to do it again after losing to a boss..
  4. Strange, for the "(E) " version of the game, I used an SGB image labeled "(UE)".
  5. I STILL don't wanna do Act-6, but what about the Final Boss Gauntlet (where you have to face the Masked Devil with a special technique, then Jaquio and finall Jyashin without one) if people want to get a "game-clear" high score under that rule?
  6. Mendon, in the memory management all you have to do is select your Live profile and opt to either copy or move to the reformatted flash drive. I find it quite useful, as it would eliminate the need to constantly have to recover your gamertag all the time.
  7. I think also F12 lets you capture the mouse to use things that support the SNES mouse. Still unsure of how to get the European SGB version of "Space Invaders" to work in arcade mode. Found the US version and it works fine. EU version refuses to work even with the emulator set to PAL mode.
  8. Yeah, and now that the 360 supports using flash drives for storage of profiles and games/data this would effectively give me a 360 with 36GB of storage from the start.
  9. I never saw the second volume, but I know on the Capcom side there's Classics Collection Remixed. Also worth hunting down are Sega Genesis Collection, Namco Museum Battle Collection, and Taito Legends: Power Up!.
  10. No harm done, Zylon. Surprisingly enough, I have the Sears version of the C380. Not sure if it's worth cannibalizing a system that works fine for that.
  11. The paddles were jittery, but I broke off the conductive piece inside the potentiometer. For where I'll be taking my stuff to at the end of the month I've a very nice set of Sears Heavy Sixer paddles, but it leaves my standard sets in need of refurbishment.
  12. Nor I, Mendon. 'Tis why I gave a call for mods to seal the door on this one.
  13. SlowCoder, thank you for this guide. I got the reset switch to work just fine now (as the music glitch in Popeye still amuses me to this day). Given what happened last attempt, I'll see if I can get someone in my area to do the refurbishment for the paddles.
  14. Want a quirky music game? Get "Gitaroo Man Lives!". Has some really great tracks from several genres (classic heavy metal, jazz with a bit of a disco groove, and so on). I will warn you: even on the easiest difficulty it can get hard as hell at times.
  15. *tosses a key to the moderators* You folks know what to do here.
  16. So, does anyone know what would be the appropriate button to swap out for the standard pause button on an Atari 7800? As the topic suggests, I want to be able to pause and toggle color/b&w on 2600 games (easier than using difficulty switches in Starmaster). Additionally, I do want to try to leave the 7800 case as untouched as possible (save for a later s-video mod).
  17. Moronic? That's just flat out ass-tarded, dude. Then again, this IS "The Examiner" we're talking about. Quite a few ass-tarded things come out of tabloids.
  18. Here's a question: what if the RF modulator is just outright shot? I've a four-switch unit that does not give much better than a snowy picture, even when adjusting the hex screw inside. Would it need replacement or just flat out need the composite/s-video mod?
  19. I'm snagging one NEC, several others available.
  20. Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play (though from experience, I think the PSN store version would work far better for MK2 and MK3 as the disc version has some pretty nasty loading times for finishing moves), Namco Museum Battle Collection (can play some classics in vertical mode, kinda awkward to hold), God of War: Chains of Olympus, Darkstalker Chronicle: The Chaos Tower, Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, DJ Max Portable (feels like a great alternative to Beatmania), Gradius Collection, Salamander Portable (if you can import that one).. that's what I can think of so far.
  21. Crazy Climber,I can see what I can do about discounted tickets for when you hit Orlando.
  22. Or if you also have arcade stuff you want to rebuild/restore, 1084 isn't too bad. Few friends of mine down over in ccatalyst's area actually use them to test boards they buy.
  23. Mord, actually Namco's re-release of the old Nintendo arcade game "Popeye" DID have comics as DLC that you could use in-game tokens to buy while playing on Arrange mode. Was worth the data charges.
  24. That's a shame, honestly. It would've been great to set up on a console for 2-player Smash TV if possible.
