Oh I agree, even Chris Covell on his "I Want My RGB" site stated that certain games on the NES actually had better colors on composite. But again, it's up to the user to decide which they prefer.
-
I never said it was ruined, just pointing out another game that's affected in some way due to the RC2C05-99 and RP2C03B's lack of color emphasis bits.
-
I would definitely say: yar. Just in case (trust me, happened to me on my first time), input of one connects to the other's output (cable in to synth out, etc.).

Best 3rd party NES contoller question?
NightSprinter replied to Dtshifter's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I know there was the Hudson-made Sansui Joycard. It looked more like a gray&gold Famicom controller that also had a headphone jack (controller cord also had a plug to go into the audio jack with pass-thru). Turbo fire and one could listen to the games they played in private. Novel idea for the time. -
Depends on the PC. For modern ones, you'll need a MIDI-to-USB adapter (which is what I use for a CM-32L that I paid almost $70 for years ago). For most soundcards of back in the day, might want to hunt down a game-port to MIDI cable (plus that'll give a pass-thru for a joystick).

Is getting a PSP worth it.

I can say that there are some good games that never saw release on the Go (and I'm not talking about Kingdom Hearts, some of the quirkier and more entertaining gems like Gitaroo Man Lives). The go is also digital distribution-only, so keep that in mind. -
Asterix also has rendering issues on RGB (gray background instead of black as a start).

November, huh? *puts that on list of stuff to treat himself to for b-day*

It's not just crappy games, that was a big thing about the console stuff. Even some of the good European titles won't work, because quite a few of 'em relied heavily on the color emphasis bits.
-
From what I remember, these systems modified with a PC-10 or Titler's PPU chip do not have full compatibility (some games, like even the crappy Dragon's Lair" wouldn't work at all due to lack of color emphasis bits).
-
That's the issue I have with the 3G model. Can you imagine how badly this system's going to rape a user's wallet to do gaming when not at an access point?
-
Game Room just gives you two achievements all for simply putting in a bought game, putting in a decoration, or changing a room's theme. (Just tested it with the GFWL version).

Algus, the 2000 only supports component output for games. 3000 and Go support it in both composite and component. Also, there is very functional Lite Custom FirmWare (LCFW) for all models of the most recent official firmware revision. I guess these days it's no longer a thing to brag about for having a 1000 or early-revision 2000. -
Yes, but for two-button games either an internal mod or an adapter are needed (the latter to be built, I believe).

WHAT IS YOUR MOST RARE INTELLIVISION GAME
NightSprinter replied to atari5200dude82's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
For me, Ice Trek, Happy Trails (damn, I love that game), and the INTV Corp. version of Pac-Man (which apparently might be suffering bit-rot as I can't go beyond under the pen). -
So, now that I've my INTV2 console (man, what a steal at $.99 before shipping) I tried to cure my case of Pac-Man Fever. For some reason when I try to go up or drown the game blanks out and crashes. Not one game I've played so far has shown this issue. Every other game I have works just fine, though. Is it possible the game's finally showing bit-rot? Last thing to consider, my copy was the INTV Corp. version and not Atarisoft.

Best of luck to ya, Rick. If I ever make it down to Miami I'll have to check the place out once it's done. -

ccatalyst, I believe his name is Carlos Lugo. He's fixed up and restored quite a few machines from the first time I visited him with a few other friends from that area (one being a deluxe MVS 4-slot cabinet with memory card slot and dual headphone jacks). -
Can you ID these game endings

It's Thunder Force III. A shooter that made me rage-reset so many times. -

Or more in the central part of Florida. Seriously, though, congrats. You'd make a friend of mine who works on restoring vintage arcade cabinets as a hobby down there jealous. -
It's possible, but I do know something on top of the flex circuit has to be replaced (thanks to the aforementioned hole on the right side's lower button).

The PS 3 can play PS 1 games?
NightSprinter replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Sony Playstation 3
That is indeed it, Austin. I can definitely appreciate the stuff John shows from his collection in the videos, but damn I'm just glad to have what I have and enjoy it. -
Looking for Intellivision ROM/Emu website
NightSprinter replied to JacobZu7zu7's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Also, for jzIntv does anyone have the config files for the games that normally won't work (yet do in emulators like Nostalgia)? -
The PS 3 can play PS 1 games?
NightSprinter replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Sony Playstation 3
All I know is in Japan there was a "PSX" that was basically a media-center styled PS2, which has the early beginnings of the XMB as we all are familiar with on the PSP and PS3. -
I know two apps that will be of interest to folks here are MilkyTracker and Grafx2. Especially the latter, since it can save to DPaint and NeoChrome-compatible images.
