Ok, I guess this thread is just getting old now. Mods/admins, go and close this thread now. -

Ok, you need to start being civil here. You're not even fully quoting my post to start with. 1.) I contacted the seller apologizing for my error and stated I would send the correct money order. 2.) I stated that the first auction I paid for PROPERLY. If I didn't, then I wouldn't have the diskette I own right now. 3.) I stated a valid point that this person does NOT list WHY he/she prefers postal money orders. I've read auctions where sellers require a certain type of payment and ONLY that type of payment, but GAVE a reason why. This person does not tell his customers why he does so (I've worked in retail for over four years now, and trying to sell something and not giving full information is an automatic "buyer-beware" sign). I know you ya like to retaliate, but since you're from my homestate I'll give you a break. The thing is, VGA, I did admit I made a mistake. I contacted the seller stating that I'm going to correct it by sending the proper money order. The thing is, it's just that he doesn't state why he requires only a U.S. Postal Money-Order (which a few who've posted in this thread did state why) in his auctions. I guess I really just wanted to state that this guy needs to be given some consideration when bidding from because he's so unclear about the "Postal Money-Order only" bit. So, I've pretty much explained myself. Want to put the whole argument to rest and move on? -

I can understand in a case such as yours, where you have to drive a distance just to go to the closest branch, but also in the case of this seller he does not state WHY he prefers only postal money orders. It's just "do this and this only or automatic negative feedback". I'm not bitter against anyone regarding this auction, but this needs to serve as a lesson for any other person who wishes to sell on eBay: If you want to accept (not "except") only one form of payment, PLEASE state WHY you have to. Just stating that you do without reason can lead to bad blood between you and your customers. -

Good God. Are you ALWAYS this much of an asshole to people? This was the FIRST mistake I've made ever since I've JOINED eBay in 2000. Let's recap some things: guy asks for contact within two days after close of auction, payment for EACH item within seven days of EACH auction's close. It's the 14th of December, I'm having to rush to get this taken care of (as I had to do some Christmas shopping as well, thank you very much), and made a simple mistake. WHERE the hell do you get the right to state that everyone else here should get my eBay ID and put me on block? Listen I'm sorry I'm a normal person who has to take care of things like any OTHER person here, but please just drop it and stop jumping in to attack others because of the fact they made a mistake. P.S. I didn't choose to ignore anything. I got the first paymetn RIGHT believe it or not (it was for a Jumpman Jr. disk new in the Val-U-Soft original packaging), but this was BEFORE the Christmas rush got worse. Combine that with having to getting packed for a week-long trip out of state for Christmas and yes problems like this will happen. -

Omega, the type he requires can only be purchased at a U.S. Post Office. THe one I bought was through a place that was a bit similar to an H&R Block. Also, don't you mean it's unfair to the "buyer" for the seller to have all these rediculous requirements? -
America's Most Wanted: eBay scammers
NightSprinter replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Auction Central
Think it's bad down in Naples? Should come up here to the Orlando region for a few weeks. ALL sorts of ripoff and scam artists up here. For example: about four weeks ago there was a news report on a guy who ran a camera store on International Drive who sold a couple from the U.K. an oudated Canon DV-camcorder that was NTSC, and after the local news investigated it and had the problem resolved the owner claimed the couple was STEALING his merchandise (bullshit, if you ask me. The merchant is stealing money from a tourist family by using underhanded techniques). I mean I can't really go to a lot of pawn shops (places in the past that I could go to for used videogame hardware at times) without a damn sign advertising they have a PSP or an iPod or three for purchase in them. In fact, if I EVER see something like that in a pawn shop I immediately throw up the red-flag and go elsewhere. But yeah, this kind of nonsense has got to stop. Plus there needs to be a TOTAL replacement of eBay's staff. It won't be long until one of these days someone snaps, then files a major lawsuit against them and wins. P.S. I apologize for any harsh language I used in this post, but having lived in Orlando for over three and a half years has hardened me to how to approach things like that. -
A bit late to posting it, but.. "Oh shut up and leave me alone, so I CAN be wrong sometimes!" (All meant in good fun, silver_surfer. So don't be offended by that.) But if that's truly the last six of the unsold carts available, would that mean we'd just have re-sale after re-sale then surfer?

I swear, the nerve of some people on eBay. This guy who goes by the name kingnothing2003 on eBay has not only rediculous requirements for payment (he only "excepts" a U.S. Postal Money order and ships ONLY to the U.S., and will reflect anything else negatively in your feedback), but his after-auction requirements are a bit rediculous as well (contact him no LATER than TWO days after auction's close, and payment must come in no LATER than SEVEN days after the end of an auction, even if it is multiple items that end on seperate days). I mistakenly sent him an AMSCOT money order for $10, and he's sending the money back and requesting I send the $17 for a copy of "Pac-Man" and "Dig-Dug" on floppy (DataSoft versions) still sealed in the original Val-U-Soft packaging. I sent an e-mail stating how difficult it was to meet his rediculous requirements for auctions that ended two to three days apart around Christmas-time (like anyone really wants to wait for two hours or more in a long-ass line at the post office for a meager money order?), and to require payment for all won items within the seven days of each auction's close as he requires in the auction listing is too unrealistic. I'm a tad concerned about this guy leaving me negative feedback because of an honest mistake, and moreso on his requirements for the auction. I'm going to consider placing him on a blocked-seller list after the transaction, but what do I do if he leaves a negative feedback (despite I sent him a message stating I did not have time to properly send the payment as required due to the time constraints from how his listing is done)? I could use a little advice here on this one.

What joystick(s) do you use for the 2600?
NightSprinter replied to HP Atari King of Michigan's topic in Atari 2600
Nope, CX-22 is the original Trak-Ball (white ball, round buttons), CX-80 was the later release (black ball, triangle-shaped and springy buttons). -
Yeah, reminds me of what this guy said on an article about the Apple ][ version: "If she could have THAT powerful of an attack, then why the hell couldn't she save herself?". I actually have to agree with the guy on that: if Mariko-dono could kill your character with a single high-kick, why couldn't she do that to Akuma and all the other guards? Also, I noticed this was the FIRST time the name "Akuma" appeared in a martial-arts game before the debut of Street Fighter Zero/Alpha.

Not sure about the hawk, but I just read on WikiPedia (so correct me if the information I'm posting is wrong) and it stated if you ran to Mariko without dropping your battle stance you get an infamous "boot to the head" and die in a single blow. That's gotta suck, approaching her the wrong way and getting her foot implanted into your head.

I'm BattleZone: CX2681. So I'm the slightly-less common NTSC version since I'm from the US.

Whats the best console gaming screen?
NightSprinter replied to Mendon's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I think that Commodore stereo monitor you guys were talking about was the 1084S. I might be wrong. -
I'll have to stop by the local BAM (Books-A-Million) here in Albany and check it out then. If they're up to the quality I remember them when I used to be a subscriber (and I was one of their first, believe it or not), then I might re-subscribe.

I haven't had a subcription to NP for about six or seven years now. Mainly because of how much they pushed a certain kid-focused franchise of theirs that starts with "P". I still have a number of the original player's and strategy guides (4-player special, Mario Mania, Gameboy, Super Gameboy, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Killer Instinct, SNES, Zelda: Link to the Past, Zelda: Link's Awakening). I still need to find a copy of the NES guide. Though slightly off-topic, how good do the NP guides for games now favor over to the BradyGames and Prima guides?

Sega Master System Popularity?
NightSprinter replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Classic Console Discussion
It would all depend on what video and sound chips the SMS used. Plus you need something to simulate the 12-key keypad on the CV controllers. Yes, I do know the CV is technically-similar to the MSX, and the SMS to the MSX2, but we need to consider the specs of the systems and their capabilities/limitations. Anyways, I think the SMS had some pretty good games that I want to acquire more of. Granted, I think that Tengen could've done MUCH better with their port of Ms. Pac-Man in Europe, and should have done the SMS port of Pac-Mania instead of Grandslam, but there were still other excellent ports of other arcade games: Gauntlet (is actually like the arcade game, not like the quest-like NES version) Double Dragon (also like the arcade game, and 2-player simultaneous) That's all I know of so far, because I don't have too many SMS games so far. I hope to acquire more peripherals and such soon. -
Well, if it's truly possible to make the game have better music, sound, and voice without a POKEY, then Kung-Fu Master should just expand the memory some (become a Super-Cart), and just improve the graphics and put those two-button Pro-Lines to full use.

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year Atarians
NightSprinter replied to Gury's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I really suck at Spanish, so forgive me if I butcher this translation Allas. (I'm using Google to partially translate this without having to do a brain-strain.) To all Spanish-speaking Atarians, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! May all your projects continue to improve over the upcoming year. Much luck to all of you. -
I remember in 1992 I finally got a brand new copy of the original "Mega Man" for the NES (I wanted it so bad so I could BEAT the game without my older brother's help). I finally managed to beat it. Then in '93 I got used copies of FF2, FF3, Drakhen, Soul Blazer (amazing action/RPG), and Zelda 3.

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year Atarians
NightSprinter replied to Gury's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The same for you guys. Wish all of the people at the forums the Merriest of Christmases possible. Look forward to when I can pop in my "Missile Command" cartridge into the XEGS and not fiddle with the bootup sequence ever again so I can play Trak-Ball mode. -
That.. is just.. hillarious.

Gametap Sucks. No Nintendo Games At All.
NightSprinter replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I understand that it's more or less legal with Gametab, and I do applaud the effort. Unfortunately I am highly disappointed with their service for these reasons: 1.) The emulation is of in many cases spotty at best (The same button for start AND fire on some arcade games??). 2.) Very paltry selection of games (many of the C64 games were not known to American audiences before emulation. I didn't recognize OR remember any of their titles offered). 3.) Minimal joystick/gamepad support (why can I not configure my gamepad to work as how "I" want it?). 4.) You MUST have a credit or check-card with a major credit card logo in order to TRY their service (I know at least one MMORPG that lets you try for 15 days before you are required to pay for further service). 5.) Load times even for older games can be horrendous for those on broadband. It really is an honest effort, but unless GameTap can improve their services to allow for more accurate emulation, better configurability, and acquire licenses for more games (Epyx, SNK, Capcom, NEC, Hudson, etc.) they're not going to continue for much longer. -
I just received an Atari 7800 (no side port, unfortunately), but the power supply is dead. If someone has a lone power supply they don't want anymore that still works please send me a PM. I might not be able to consider offers until the 28th, as I am out of town for Christmas.
