Sears Video Arcade II (looked like a 7800 with LEDs) - Christmas present to me and my brothers from my parents. Eventually gave it to a less fortunate family. ColecoVision - bought used from a neighbor around '84 with the Roller Controller, 2600 adapter and some games. C64 - Have no clue where my brother bought it. Coleco ADAM - bought from one of those surplus vendor catalogs around 1987 with money earned from cutting grass. C128D - Bought new from Sears back when they sold Laser PC computers about 1988-1989. Eventually traded it for a 286 motherboard after having to deal with a bad internal floppy drive. Tandy 1000 - Bought an old floor model from a RadioShack for about $200 in 1987. Added the expansion card for $150 later along with 256k RAM for another $150. 7800 - Bought new from Rose's for about $50-60. Games were about $5-$10. TG16 - Bought used from Buy-Rite video games. Eventually bought the CD attachment. Traded it in when I didn't touch it for 6 months. TG Express - Bought used from Buy-Rite video games with the TV tuner. Traded it in when I didn't touch it for 6 months. Boy do I wish I still had this one! TG Duo - Bought used from Buy-Rite video games. Traded it in when I didn't touch it for 6 months. PS1 - I know I had it but can't remember where I bought it. Traded it in when I didn't touch it for 6 months. Notice a pattern here? Dreamcast - bought used from a thrift store last year with 4 controllers, fishing controller, light gun and 12 games for $40. Have found several other titles for it there later on for around $3 each. PS2 Slim - given to me this year by my brother. He had already modded it. Have bought some used games for it from GameStop since then. Currently I have my 7800 which will not power on properly most of the time, the PS2 and the Dreamcast.

I have all of them. Too bad my 7800 is a bit flaky...

There's a stuck pixel on the lower-left of the display. It's red.

Selling my TurboGrafx with CD attachment and games to Buy-Rite Games years ago. Especially Galaga '90! Selling my TurboExpress with tuner attachment. Selling my TurboDuo. Giving away our Sears Video Arcade II system. It was nice even though the buttons stuck. Fortunately I still have some of the games. Giving away my ColecoVision with the ADAM attachment and games. I worked by rear off to buy the Coleco and games and the ADAM a few years later. It fell out of use when I got the C128-D and eventually a PC. I don't regret selling the Playstation, first revision Genesis or the SNES. -
Dungeon Keeper Strangely enough, the Direct3D version is as slow as snails on XP with an Athlon XP 2400+ and a GeForce 6200 video card. The DirectDraw one is fast and smooth.

I found a boxed copy of DUNE CD-ROM version for the PC in some boxes while cleaning my office. To give you an idea of how old it is, the system requirements list a 386 running at 20mhz.

Delta Force for Windows.... I've been playing on and off for about a year. Finally finished the last mission at lunch. Best $1.49 I've ever spent. Now for Delta Force 2! Hopefully it will be the best $1.99 I've ever spent.

MDK for the PC. I played it on the Mac initially about 10 years ago, and discovered that I had it for the PC on my CD case. While not as flashy as some newer games, it's fun and wacky. I'm now installing Delta Force to see if I can finish it. I tried once before, got to the last mission and had to reload the PC.

I have played the arcade version since 1988. Getting high scores on it was not much of a problem. I'm still getting used to the positioning on the 7800 version. On my last score no perfects were scored on the challenge stages. It didn't help that I get the challenge stages mixed up too. -

72,980 - wave 8 Not my best work, but I was playing with a keyboard. EDIT - second try, 125,850 wave 16 This time I used a Gravis GamePad Pro. It would have been a better score but the #[email protected]#%#@ screen saver kicked in near the end. -

While spending the evening by myself I dragged out my 7800 and hooked it up. Some games had no problems starting up while others took a lot of fiddling with how the cartridge was positioned. I also found out that the left difficulty switch is a bit flaky and that an unmodified Genesis controller will work for most things but not everything. Is there a way to get the system to the point that it will work reliably?

In the past I would pound the joystick on the table. Later I would just curse at it - much good that did - or say 'it works' and switch to another game. There are plenty of games to go around and I'm not going to beat myself over the head while trying to get through a dud. I think the best example of getting angry at a game was my Dad. Years ago he was playing Realsports Baseball with either me or one of my two brothers. He was getting creamed and yanked the game out of the 2600 while it was still running, put it on the floor and stomped on it with his boot. It has packing take wrapped around it to hold it together but it still works.
