Sorry, I'd have to say GIJoe was the worst Parke Bros title. Other than a giant "Cobra" this game really had nothing to do with GIJoe, IMO. And I liked all of the games you listed especially Reactor. I thought that game rocked. I know I'll probably get flak for this but I liked Pac-man and Swordquest:Earthworld. I think they could have worked a little longer on Fireworld. Haunted House was alright, although not the best game I ever played. And Ssssnake did just ssssuck. Donkey Kong was a bit disappointing after playing the Coleco version at a friend's house. I'd have to say E.T. was the most disappointing for me. It was to easy! I had the thing beat in the first half hour.
  2. Best I ever did was this one time, I had gotten everything in the maze without getting hit once and when I grabbed Quickclaw my score came up 5,000 points short. I had forgotten to get the bar of gold all the way at the top of the first level! Grrrr.. When I played it again I was so so ticked off I kept running into things and losing points so I just turned it off. To this day I have never played a perfect game. Maybe it time to give it another try...
  3. quote: Originally posted by King_Asmo: How I'd like to see some enterprising homebrewer handle the situation is this. Instead of offering these games as CGE exclusives.. just do a Dutch auction for them on eBay. Hype it for about a month before hand.. let reviewers test the game, what have you. Then just take the 100 or however many copies of the games you made, and do a huge Dutch auction. If they're numbered copies, give #1 to the first highest bidder, #2 to the second highest bidder, etc. I'd also allow people to bid on as many copies of the game as they wanted.. it's their right. I have a pretty good feeling that if this happened, that'd we see that the homebrewers are drastically undercharging for their creations.. I could see an auction like this ending at $80-90 a copy or so. If any homebrewer is interested in such a scheme, I'd be willing to finance a large portion of it. Of course, now people will whine that you're "profiteering". The truth of the matter is, there's always going to be a segment of the population who cries UNFAIR no matter how you distribute the game.. coz for some reason, a lot of people think they have an entitlement to every 2600 game ever produced, or ever will be produced. KA King Asmo, that is a great idea! I would love to see the next big homebrew come out this way! A dutch auction would be a great way to get your game out and still not charge people an arm and a leg. You could sell a large portion of you first or only production run and still give people from all over a chance to get a copy.
  4. Maze Craze Warlords Adventure In that order, definately. Warlords does rock!
  5. You guys actually had to pay for these? I got the first two on one CD for free with a box of cereal, no joke. I didn't even know they were for sale. I thought it was just some giveaway to get you to buy cereal... geez!
  6. quote: Originally posted by dwh: "in debt for atari games" Which is the exact reason why i started selling Atari games on eBay. To get money to feed my habit and keep myself above the poverty line! As long as people keep buyin', I'll keep sellin'!
  7. i've had about 5 or 6 Superchargers go through my hands and every one of them worked on my 7800. I usually sell the unit for about $30 and the common games for about $10 each. What I'm wondering is: I just got one with a "formerly Arcadia" label on it. I already have one of the original "by Arcadia" labels, which one is harder to find?
  8. quote: Originally posted by CaliColts: That could be considered theft, I had an auction that I posted, then a week later there was an auction for the same thing and there were MY pictures in this other auction. I fired off a letter to the seller and was returned with a rude reply, but he did remove the pics. I feel it is dishonest to do this as the pictures posted are not the actual item being sold. And those of us who have taken the time to buy a digital camera, take the pics, process them and post them, at least me, do not appreciate this practice. I know how you feel! I hate recycled pictures on eBay auctions. I take pictures of every item I sell, and once it's gone I don't ever use the same picture again. I would be ticked off if someone stole my pictures for their auction!
  9. quote: Originally posted by Cybergoth: Anyone know the story behind these white label games? Hm... I think I once sold an Imagic shaped Demon Attack with a white label, too... Greetings, Manuel I think these white labels has something to do with Activision distributing Imagic's titles late in the game. They put them in their own cases with new labels, but they probably had boxes left over from some mass printing job.
  10. Sorry Stan, I should have said I was talking about the 2600 version he said he was going to try and make after the 5200 version. That is the version that I would like to see the better mini-games on. I always thought that "Leo's waterfall" was a cool idea. Anyone ever make it through in one try? I've only been able to do this a couple of times.
  11. quote: Originally posted by ATARIPITBULL: I have all three games my self, but I can't wait to see how this Airworld game will play like when its done. I know how you feel, man! I can't wait either! The screenshots look great, although I kinda hope he improved on the mini-games a little. Earthworld's were pretty decent but the other two games weren't that great. Waterworld still beat Fireworld, though.
  12. Well I don't happen to have a spare $1000 lying around right now so I'll have to let this one go by. It may be a while, but I'll just keep my eyes open. Like I've said before the box wasn't important to me but I would have taken it if I could get it.
  13. quote: Originally posted by MoonlightKnight: Unless, it gets in to the "Oh my gawd, how much" range. My luck is Ataripitbull would use his Lochjaw technique on me. ROTFLMAO. Ok... Now it has reach an outrageous level. Over $400 and the reserve isn't met? That's just crazy money! I'm just going to watch it to see if anyone actually mets the reserve now.
  14. quote: Originally posted by The Night Phantom: James Bond 007 seems to be based on the movie series, as opposed to being taken directly from the novels. 15. Ok moycon. Now THAT's a good one. If anyone actually bids on it then that is their own fault. They will truely "get what they paid for" on that auction. See guys, I don't mind a good joke, it's just that some of the people participating in that contest are actually LYING. The E.T. cart was funny, but a certificate of autenticity? She obviously couldn't produce something like that. At least moycon's came with pictures so you can see what you're REALLY getting.
  16. Oh OK. I know which one you are talking about now. I remember seeing that one in the catalog, too. Right next to Mr. Bill and Smokey the Bear. It would be interesting to see it this exist in any state of completion.
  17. Don't worry. I don't think anyone thought you were hiding. We were just noting the coincidence. When you posted your first message about this, I had a feeling you had an auction in mind. Thanks for the e-mail, BTW. I am watching it now!
  18. quote: Originally posted by MattyXB: @ Jah Fish, can't bid on your bubble gum. And can't watch it. You have use on old number. You must reenter this auction. I want it. @MattyXB: That auction isn't really on eBay. He has it posted somewhere else. It is hilarious though.
  19. Aren't you just talking about A-Team? That is a prototype that has Mr. T in it. I thought I heard that it was going to be called something else and they just put Mr. T in it to try and get some marketing value out of it.
  20. quote: Originally posted by moycon: Hmmmmmm Joystick Jolter is from New Jersey according to his profile here on AA, and so is this ebay seller: Jersey Ebay Sherlock moycon does it again!!! [ 03-09-2002: Message edited by: moycon ] Yeah, kinda a coincidence, don't you think? I got an e-mail from that seller recently, too. And like I said, I will bid on it. Unless, it gets in to the "Oh my gawd, how much" range. My luck is Ataripitbull would use his Lochjaw technique on me. ROTFLMAO.
  21. quote: Originally posted by Junie: Speaking of weird auctions, this isn't part of some contest or anything but I seen a normal copy of Frogger sell on eBay for $18.50 a few days ago. Now there is a normal Pac-Man with manual for sell on eBay that was currently $29.00 And a copy of River Raid (no manual or box) currently for $20.50 Actually, I think this is called "Bidders Frenzy." Some people become so caught up in a single auction that they will bid outrageous amounts just to make sure they win. These people forget how to walk away from the auction. Instead they say "No, it's mine and I won't be outbid." It no longer is about what they are bidding on but the fight to win it. I have had Frogger auctions go from $4 to $13 in the last 5 minutes just because someone REALLY had to have it. One week I had a guy bid on two different games that way. $12 for Frogger and $8 for Pitfall both of which were started at $4. Since I consider all of my auctions one-bidders (I only expect to get one bid,) I had a good chuckle off that. And yes, I took his money because he did bid that much.
  22. quote: Originally posted by StanJr: Yeah, its funny and all, but evil-bay for better or worse is a place of business, where ordinary people come looking to buy stuff. An unsuspecting person could see this and make an honest mistake. You should make some kind of disclaimer that it is not a real auction. This is great for all the people in on the joke. Not so good for those outside the joke. Its a little irresponsible of the sponsors of this contest. Wet Blanket Stan Thank you, Wet Blanket Stan. I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought this way. It is irresponsible to do something like this without letting people in on the joke. No problem being funny but someone could get seriously irked if they find out that an auction wasn't real.
  23. quote: Originally posted by StanJr: Dude, boxes and instructions are icing on the cake. If I can get 'em I will, but its not a must. The game comes first. Stan in the Box I'm going to have to go with Stan In The Box on this one. I'm not really concerned with boxes unless they happen to be from harder to find games. But I will go out of my way to get manuals for the games. These are a must in my opinion.
  24. Well, Stella was my first system. I was 8 when I got my first one, and I still have it! I now own a 7800 which I use exclusively, unless I want to play a Tigervision game. I've have always had a 2600 and always will. You'll have to pry my Atari from my cold dead hands!
  25. It kinda funny, actually. She could have just set the reserve so high you guys would have never beat it. I think she learned her lesson. At least let's hope so. Funny joke, but she almost left herself open to get burned. Probably with that flamethrower...
